Busca-se compreender como os hábitos de uso da ferramenta por essas pessoas influenciam em seus posicionamentos. Com base em um levantamento de notícias inicial e apoiado em entrevistas em profundidade com vinte usuários da rede social, recorre-se à sociologia dos usos e à sociologia das audiências para se analisar de que modo relações interpessoais e a forma de manuseio de mídias sociais influenciam a postura político-ideológica dos voluntários deste estudo. A partir de uma leitura interacionista, procura-se analisar como se dá a inserção do jornalismo on-line e político nas mídias sociais e como se estrutura a relação do público com esse gênero jornalístico, a fim de se entender o perfil e as rotinas dos indivíduos que praticam ativismo digital na rede social. Para tanto, foram utilizados quatro níveis de análise: o primeiro relacionado ao perfil do ativista; o segundo aos usos da mídia, da informação jornalística e das mídias sociais no cotidiano; outro sobre os posicionamentos políticos; e, por fim, um sobre o ativismo digital. / The research proposal is to analyze how users of the social networks – especially the Facebook – appropriates political news posted on the platform. The intention is to understand how the ways of uses and the habits from these people on the platform influence their positioning. This investigation is based on an initial news survey and supported by in-depth interviews with twenty social network users. The conceptions of sociology of uses and sociology of audiences is used to analyze how interpersonal relationships and the uses of social media influence on the political and ideological position of the volunteers of this study. From an interactionist perspective, it is observed the way online and political journalism is inserted on social media and how the relationship between the public and this genre of journalistic is structured. The idea is to understand the profile and routines of individuals who practice digital activism in the social network. For this, four levels of analysis were used: the first one related to the profile of the activist; the second is referent to the uses of the media, journalistic information and social media in daily life; another level covers political positions; and, finally, the last one is about digital activism.

Objetivou-se elucidar as novas formas de mobilizações e manifestações políticas, destacando o papel desempenhado pelas redes sociais, a influência da história recente da urbanização das cidades brasileiras, a relação das políticas públicas e do Estado com as pautas apresentadas pelos manifestantes, bem como os processos de mobilização ocorridos em diferentes lugares do mundo, como Estados Unidos, Europa e alguns países árabes. A pesquisa teve natureza absolutamente documental, desde documentos impressos e virtuais de natureza científica até as notícias e informações divulgadas nos portais de notícias, nas páginas dos grupos que convocaram as manifestações, em revistas científicas eletrônicas de instituições de produção do conhecimento científico. Também se utilizou um mecanismo de busca, o qual tem como prioridade a indexação do maior volume de documentos na Web, buscando o maior número de acessos e apresentando resultados baseados em critérios de relevância. Dessa forma, apresentaram-se as análises referentes aos grupos ora estudados, de modo a compreender as diferentes perspectivas e interpretações desses movimentos de rua nunca vistos em tamanha magnitude no século XXI, ressaltando as suas relações com as redes de internet e ao ciberativismo. / This paper addresses the political demonstrations that took place in June 2013 in Brazil, presenting the analyzes that have polarized the internet networks recorded in the four cyber-activists groups - MPL, Ninja Media, Anonymous and Black Bloc. This study aimed to elucidate the new forms of mobilization and political demonstrations, highlighting the role of social networks, the influence of the recent history of urbanization of Brazilian cities, the ratio of public policies and the State with the guidelines presented by the demonstrators, as well as mobilization processes occurring in different parts of the world such as America, Europe and some Arab countries. The research was absolutely nature documentary, from print and Web documents of a scientific nature to the news and information disclosed in the news portals on pages of groups called demonstrations in electronic journals production institutions of scientific knowledge. Also used a search engine, which has a priority indexing the higher volume of documents on the Web, searching for the most number of hits and presenting results based on relevance criteria. Thus, they showed up analyzes related to either groups, in order to understand different perspectives and interpretations of these street movements unprecedented in magnitude in the XXI century, emphasizing its relationship with the internet networks and cyber activism.

O fortalecimento de movimentos antiglobalização, a maior propagação do terrorismo, o empoderamento de organizações civis e a ocorrência de grandes protestos coordenados em rede são algumas das vinculações deste período. Todos esses eventos possuem algumas características em comum: Envolvem ações ativistas; sustentam algum impacto transnacional; utilizam em alguma medida a comunicação digital para suas ações. Com este cenário de fundo, esta pesquisa de doutorado tem como indagação central o seguinte questionamento: Quais os efeitos da comunicação digital na dinâmica do ativismo transnacional contemporâneo? Para responder tal inquirição, o trabalho buscou integrar diferentes áreas de conhecimento como Relações Internacionais, Comunicação Social e Tecnologia. No tocante à metodologia utilizada, foram adotados a pesquisa qualitativa e o método de estudo de caso como ferramentas basilares. Para operacionalizar e criar linhas-mestras de análise, desenvolveu-se indicadores qualitativos. Estes foram aplicados em três casos de ativismo transnacional contemporâneo considerados representativos e emblemáticos: (a) Al-Qaeda, WikiLeaks e Primavera Árabe. Os resultados identificaram a ocorrência de cinco categorias de efeitos da comunicação digital sobre o ativismo transnacional e seus respectivos indicadores: Estímulo à configuração da causa (articulação, difusão e massificação); Multiplicação do engajamento de indivíduos (coordenação, adesão e colaboração); Flexibilização da estrutura (virtualização, descentralização e transnacionalização); Instrumentalização do planejamento (elaboração, datificação e instrução); e Diversificação da ação (cibereventos e ciberataque). A pesquisa aponta que os efeitos da comunicação digital no ativismo são hoje fenômenos reais, com implicações nos diversos processos que compõem o ativismo em geral e o ativismo transnacional em específico. Os dados e fatos descritos comprovam o lastro das categorias de efeitos e também demonstram a sua complexidade e entrelaçamento, enquadrando o ativismo transnacional como um fenômeno cada vez mais relevante no cenário internacional. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The beginning of this century was marked by a significant number of changes in international relations. The strengthening of anti-globalization movements, the further spread of terrorism, the empowerment of civil society organizations and coordinated protests are some changes that characterize this period. All these events have some elements in common: activists actions; transboundary impacts; digital communication usage. This doctoral research centers around the following question: What are the effects of digital communication on the dynamics of contemporary transnational activism? To answer this inquiry, the study integrated different areas of knowledge, including International Relations, Social Communication and Technology. Regarding the methodology, qualitative research and the case study method were adopted as basic tools. To operate and create guidelines for analysis, qualitative indicators were developed. These were applied in three cases of contemporary transnational activism considered emblematic of this new century: (a) Al-Qaeda, WikiLeaks and Arab Spring. The results showed the occurrence of five digital communication categories of effects on transnational activism and their respective indicators: Encouraging the setting of the cause (articulation, diffusion and mass mediafication); Multiplying the individual’s engagement (coordination, support and collaboration); Flexible structure (virtualization, decentralization and transnationalization); Instrumentalization of the planning (elaboration, datification and instruction); and Action diversification (cyber event and cyber attack). The research shows the digital communication effects on activism today are a real phenomena, with implications in all the activism's stages in general – and transnational activism in particular. Data and facts described in this research show the validity of the categories of effects and also demonstrate their complexity and merging, framing the transnational activism as an increasingly important phenomenon in the current international arena.
