Båth, Peter, Leitner, Max January 2023 (has links)
AR media or augmented reality has become increasingly prevalent in today's society, and more and more applications leverage the technology's ability to present digital 3D objects in the physical space, particularly in gaming. However, the auditory aspect, also known as audio augmented reality (AAR), has not received much attention despite its presence in various forms in our daily lives. From information systems that announce the arrival of the next train through speakers to museums that provide guided tours through buildings using headphones, AAR surrounds us almost every day. But how would a game be experienced and constructed solely using AAR? This article explores the construction of an interactive auditory gaming experience using Audio Augmented Reality (AAR). The focus is on analyzing the techniques employed to create this gaming experience entirely through AAR. Furthermore, the potential inherent in this medium as an inclusive experience for a broad audience is discussed. By exploring and analyzing the implementation of Dolby Atmos in the interactive auditory game "Ambience," this article contributes to the understanding of AAR as an innovative technology and its potential to create unique and accessible experiences for different users.

The silence at trade shows: : A case study at Hannover Messe

Johansson, Daniel, Bengtsson, Nicklas January 2011 (has links)
This thesis studies the non-verbal communication such as the body language in the context of a trade show. The non-verbal communication is one of the primary conveyors of messages and trade shows are one of the major channels were firms attract new customers. However the combination of trade shows and non-verbal communication is overlooked. The method consists of interviews with visitors and observations of the booths and the visitors. The setting was chosen as the annual Hannover Messe were five booths of Swedish firms were studied. The result indicates that firms can further improve their body language. Suggested improvements involve to not having the sales representative work in the booth. This is remarked as a taboo by authors within the area; still this action commonly occurs.  The booth design plays a prominent role in the visitor interactions so does the staffing. The way to approach a visitor is not differing much between the booths in the study however there are three possible ways to physically approach visitors as a sales representative. The best way has not been established and the visitor interviews gave a mixed result regarding this matter. Although the best way is not found all observed booths missed out on dialogs with prospective customers much due to that full attention was not directed towards the visitors. The authors want to emphasis on the adaptation towards visitor as an important pawn in the exhibiting, some sales representatives automatically does this.

The most important pathological manifestations in the concrete blocks of the armed masonry are the efflorescence and the fissures; the former are aesthetic and the latter are structural. These pathologies are caused by the porosity of the block; which facilitates the entry of salts from the sea breeze and salt mist present in the marine atmosphere. These salts, as a result of the wind are dragged and deposited in homes built outside the sea. A solution to this problem is to use a material that minimizes the progress of fissures and cracks, such as sugar beet nanoplatelets (BNP); which are plant residues from the food industry. In the present investigation the study of cracked concrete blocks is approached, studying some mechanical, physical and chemical properties; the results show that with the addition of BNP the compressive strength increases, and the absorption and carbonation decrease when compared to concrete without nanoadditive. / Tesis
