The subject of this research is the practice of reading audiobooks. Through it, we seek a better understanding of how audioreaders interact with this voiced style of literature, how they appropriate it, their difficulties and how they produce meaning. Firstly, it will be discussed concepts such as "text" and "reading", at the same time is given to the audiobook a historicity, by providing relevant theoretical references from the Communication field and historical informations on the audiobook that, consequently let us comprehend it as part of the history of reading. This investigation also relates the changes in phonography with the transformations in the audiobook universe. Part of the content of this research consists of a comparative analysis between three audiobook editions and their printed versions, in doing so we intend to question their similarities and differences. Such study is required to comprehend the answers of our 10 respondents, whose experiences with fiction audiobooks are shown and discussed here. Finally, from our group of audioreaders, we intend to address the role of the body, attention and concentration, the materiality of the literary works and textual supports in the act of reading audiobooks. / Esta pesquisa tem como objeto as práticas de leitura com audiolivros. Nela, busca-se saber de que forma os audioleitores interagem com esse formato sonoro da literatura, como são suas apropriações, suas dificuldades e como produzem sentido. Para tanto, primeiro, são discutidos conceitos como texto e leitura e, pelas pertinentes referências teóricas da Comunicação e informações históricas sobre audiolivro, dá-se a esse meio uma historicidade, incluindo-o como parte da história da leitura. Além disso, as mudanças na fonografia são relacionadas com as transformações ocorridas no universo do livro sonoro. Forma parte do conteúdo deste estudo ainda a análise da edição de três audiolivros em comparação com suas respectivas versões impressas. Também foram realizadas 10 entrevistas com leitores de ficção em audiolivro. Ao final, a partir desse conjunto de audioleitores, podemos tratar do papel do corpo, da atenção e da concentração, da materialidade da obra e dos suportes na leitura de audiolivros.

O principal objetivo deste estudo foi verificar as contribuições que o audiolivro pode oferecer no âmbito do ensino da língua italiana para alunos de nível elementar (A2,conforme o Quadro Comum Europeu de Referências para Línguas) de um Centro de Estudo de Línguas. Procurou-se investigar se a audição desse material foi relevante no processo de compreensão do texto narrativo e se a leitura em língua estrangeira realizada por meio da audição teve boa receptividade pelos alunos. Optou-se pelo audiolivro, por ser um instrumento que apresenta grande potencial didático às aulas de línguas, mas, pouco estudado nesse contexto. Para realizar este trabalho, fundamentou-se nos conceitos teóricos referentes à compreensão oral, na Teoria de Aquisição de Segunda Língua de Stephen Krashen (particularmente, na hipótese do insumo compreensível)e ainda nos conceitos e características do audiolivro, escritos por Maurizio Falghera, pesquisador italiano que se dedica ao estudo desta ferramenta. Com base nos audiolivros La Favola di Natale de Giovannino Guareschi e Le Avventure di Pinocchiode Carlo Collodi, várias atividades didáticas foram elaboradas e aplicadas aos discentes que, após executá-las, deveriam opinar, por intermédio de um questionário sobre as impressões que tiveram do audiolivro na aprendizagem da nova língua. Concluiu-se que o audiolivro foi uma importante ferramenta no ensino do italiano, porque além de dinamizar a percepção das múltiplas nuanças sonoras também viabilizou a realização de leituras na língua-alvo em um espaço de tempo menor, o que permitiu melhor aproveitamento das aulas, na realização de outras atividades do curso / The main goal of this study was to verify contributions that audiobook can offer in Italian language teaching area for elementary level students (A2 according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) from a Study Language Center. It was sought to investigate if their hearing was relevant in the comprehension process of the narrative text and if their reading in foreign language performed by hearing had good receptivity by students. It was chosen audiobook because it is a tool that presents great didactic potential for language classes but it is seldom studied in this context. In order to accomplish this task, it was based in theoretical concepts related to oral comprehension, in Second Language Acquisition Theory by Stephen Krashen, particularly in the hypothesis of comprehensible input and also in audiobook characteristics and concepts written by Maurizio Falghera, an Italian researcher who devotes himself to the study of that tool. Based on audiobooks La Favola di Nataleby Giovannino Guareschi and Le Aventure di Pinocchioby Carlo Collodi, many didactic activities were elaborated and applied to students who should describe in a questionnaire the impressions they had on the new language learning by audiobook right after performing it. It was found that such audio tool was an important one in Italian language learning because it boosted the multiple sonic nuances perception and it also made possible the reading performance in the target language in shorter time which allowed a better improvement of the classes

Analisaram-se os processos de tradução intermidiática envolvidos na produção dessa mídia sonora baseada em um conto do gênero literatura fantástica, escrito na Inglaterra, final do século XIX – The country of the blind, traduzido como A terra dos cegos, de Herbert George Wells; e outro conto, este da literatura afrobrasileira – A cega e a negra – uma fábula, de Miriam Alves. Os manuscritos digitais gerados na produção de roteiros, bem como o processo de gravação e edição da mídia em questão foram temas de análise. Para o embasamento teórico do trabalho, foram utilizadas teorias relacionadas aos estudos de tradução, como a dos Polissistemas de Even-Zohar, bem como à estética radiofônica e à performática vocal, contando-se com a base teórica e metodológica da crítica genética. Ao compreender como a linguagem verbal pode ser usada para compor imagens sonoras que sirvam de instrumento de mediação para pessoas com deficiência visual na apropriação da cultura, analisou-se a recepção do audiolivro por essas pessoas. O enfoque foi dado na perspectiva de que essa criação constitui um instrumento de acessibilidade a textos literários, ampliando as possibilidades de fruição estética também por sujeitos com deficiência visual, conforme apresentam os resultados do processo de recepção do audiolivro produzido. / The present study is a research centered on the creation process of an audiobook, which includes two stories based on the theme of blindness. The processes of intermedia translation related to the production of such audiobook were analysed and the first story belongs to a genre known as fantastic literature and it was writtenin England at the end of the nineteenth century - The country of the blind by Herbert George Wells; as for the second one, it is a story related to the African Brazilian literature - A cega e a negra - uma fábula, in English The blindand the black women - a fable by Miriam Alves. The digital manuscripts generated in the script production, as well as the processes of recording and editing of such medium were analysed in the present work. So as to give support to this research, theories related to Even Zohar´s Polisystem theories in translation studies were very useful, as well as subject matter on radio aesthetics and vocal performance. As for the theoretical and methodologic support of the work of the field of fgenetic criticism has also proved to be very relevant. In order to understand how verbal language can be used to convey sound images that are able to help people with visual deficiency in the appropriation of culture products, the reception of the audiobook under consideration by such target audience analyzed. The focus was given in the perspective that this creation constitutes an accessibility instrument to literary texts, enlarging the possibilities of aesthetic fruition also by people with visual deficiency and that has become evident in the result of the reception process of the produced audiobook.
