January 2002 (has links)
Abstract: The right of access to school, legitimized by the present National Politics of Education to all kids, finds resistance when it comes to individuals with special educational needs. This paper characterizes the interaction of one only couple, teacher - high functioning autistic child, in a regular inclusive atmosphere, trying to contribute with information about the handling with the diversity in the classroom. The study concluded that the subject presented characteristics that made the interaction easy, leading the teacher to give him oriented contacts to the task, besides realizing curriculum adaptations to his specific needs. The autistic student established a relational dynamic based on the search for the exclusive attention from the teacher, alternating for that adequate with non-adequate means to the moment in which they occurred. Both teacher and student were sensitive to changes in mood according to school and family happenings. However, the subject was more agitated when the activities weren't adapted and when there was lack of attention from the teacher in relation to what he wanted. The atmosphere presented positive aspects to a possible development of the subject's social and academic abilities: high level of responses to his approaches, similarities in the teacher's standard of responses to the autistic child and the other non-autistic students, as well as high level of participation of the subject in complementary contacts. Therefore, there were interactive situations that got educational and therapeutic functions to the subject being focused. / Mestre

This study seeks to research the guarantee of the right to health of the autistic child that attends the Association for Autistic Persons’ Protection (APROAUT), to promote that group’s social protection, specifically in Ponta Grossa, in the state of Paraná. This discussion is necessary in lieu of the recent legislative practice that imposes basic rights that need to be guarantee to this specific vulnerable group of people. In this regard, this research analyzes the right of health specifically. Its main objective is to understand how the guarantee of the right of health to the autistic child that attends PROAUT works, taking the perspective of the family of the child and the professionals of the Association. This is an interdisciplinary research, of qualitative nature, developed through the analysis of a case study. For this purpose, the research was divided into bibliographical and literature research and then, for the final part, a field research was conducted. The subject of the research is the representatives of the children’s families who attend the institution, as well as its working professionals. As an instrument of data gathering a form was applied to guide a semi-structured interview. Lastly, a content analysis was used to promote the evaluation of the collected data. The first chapter intends to analyze the birth of the Welfare State, specifically related to the Brazilian background, as well as the way social protection became a historical process in the country. Afterwards, the establishment of the process of the effectiveness of the fundamental right of health of autistic people in Brazil is presented. The second chapter seeks to outline considerations and thoughts about the social and historical construction of the concept of autism, also introducing accurate data of Brazil’s context and the country’s current legislation. Subsequently, a picture of the Association (APROAUT) is drawn as a protagonist of the protection of the autistic child in Ponta Grossa; by the end of this second chapter, a link is made between the needs of the autistic child and the Bio ecological Theory of human development. The third chapter, of empirical nature, to conclude, indicates the categorization of the collected data from the conducted interviews of children’s families and professionals of the Association, applying the Bio ecological Theory of human development as the theoretical basis for the analysis. For this purpose, the many systems of the theoretical structure of the guarantee of the right of health by APROAUT were interlinked with the setting of the social protection, whether in traditional or in governmental form, reaching the first conclusion that the State outsources its own obligations, delegating social protection matters to Third Sector organizations.

Le mécanisme de défense de démantèlement dans l'autisme : Transformation et co-création du lien intersubjectif en psychothérapie de l'enfant / Dismantling's defense mechanism in autism : Transformation and intersubjective co-creation link in Child's psychotherapy

Barrer, Laurence 06 November 2013 (has links)
N our research in clinical psychology and psychopathology, we question the dismantling in autistic disorder in children. We question the phenomenon, the process, the defense mechanism and function of dismantling and the therapeutic strategy and its consensualisating effects, remantèlement. The device used to highlight the modeling of dismantling in autism is a longitudinal filmed device psychoanalytic psychotherapy in individual sessions in private practice with three autistic children. The transference counter-transference relationships help in building pretransitional psychics spaces. The articulation of the autistic child’s psyche into the therapist’s psyche built a primary object-relation. The passage by the autistic child senses and the the therapist’s body contact can turn pictograms, ideograms ubiquitous, unprocessed original traces, in a word, thing representation, into a possible, word representation. Thus, the metapsychological model of the defense mechanism of dismantling is built on the Freudian model, topical, economic and dynamic.

The loss of a dream: parents raising an autistic child

Ritchie, Tiffany L. January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Department of Family Studies and Human Services / Anthony Jurich / This study explored the parents’ perspective of having a child with Autism living in the home. Specifically, the researcher was looking to explore the attachment style between the parent and child, as well as the process of the parents’ changing their expectations of their child, from the expectation of raising a normal child to raising a child with Autism. In order to understand the experience of both families interviewed, the researcher, through semi-structured, qualitative interviews, interviewed each parent separately. A multiple case study approach was used in order to allow for comparison within each family. Methods for analyzing the data included coding the data, so that the data could be analyzed from the individual interviews and also analyzed based on family response. For the parents interviewed in the study, four themes emerged that were similar for all parents. These themes included the diagnosis process, the differences in attachment before and after their child was diagnosed, the changing expectations of themselves, each other and their diagnosed child, and the parents’ views on getting professional help, such as therapy. Both families shared the experience of confusion during the diagnostic process, especially confusion surrounding the cause and prognosis of Autism. All parents in the study illustrated the attachment injury after their child’s diagnosis, in addition to when the child began showing the classic signs of Autism. The study also found that each parent’s expectations changed from higher ones of themselves, spouse and diagnosed child to more moderate and low expectations of their spouse and diagnosed child. Last, all parents interviewed expressed that seeking therapy would have helped them deal with the diagnostic process and better cope with having a child with Autism. It is believed by the researcher that these themes have emerged because of the families’ shared experience of raising an Autistic child.
