Design and Structural Analysis of a Robotic Arm

Eranki, Venkata Krishna Prashanth, Reddy Gurudu, Rishank January 2017 (has links)
Automation is creating revolution in the present industrial sector, as it reduces manpower and time of production. Our project mainly deals around the shearing operation, were the sheet is picked manually and placed on the belt for shearing which involves risk factor. Our challenge is designing of pick and place operator to carry the sheet from the stack and place it in the shearing machine for the feeding. We have gone through different research papers, articles and had observed the advanced technologies used in other industries for the similar operation. After related study we have achieved the design of a 3-jointed robotic arm were the base is fixed and the remaining joints move in vertical and horizontal directions. The end effector is also designed such that to lift the sheet we use suction cups were the sheet is uplifted with a certain pressure. Here we used Creo-Parametric for design and Autodesk-Inventor 2017 to simulate the designed model.

Vidareutveckling av sorteringsarm

Ljunggren, Jonathan January 2019 (has links)
This bachelor thesis deals with the implementation of a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Borås. The thesis work has been carried out for SGA Conveyor Systems, which manufactures and sells systems for more efficient package handling. The aim of the thesis was to develop an existing sorting arm, in order to improve the package flow. The further developed sorting arm would be presented in the form of a visual concept drawn in the software Autodesk Inventor. The concept would be further developed to the extent that the concept's functionality could be demonstrated. Furthermore, the concept would be presented with reasonable component recommendations. During the initial period of the project, decisions were made for the direction of further development. The decision was that the sorting arm should be set up in the form of a driving belt. The work began with the study of industry related literature. When a sufficiently large knowledge bank had been built up, the next step was to make demands on the upcoming product together with the client. With the requirements as a reference, solution proposals could then be generated in the form of concepts. The most suitable concept was selected and further developed within the framework of the work's objective. The degree project resulted in a visual concept being presented to the client. The concept meets the requirements set to a great extent and the possibility for an implementation can be considered credible.

Multi-functional fitness chair for light weight trainer

Fan, Rong, Wu, Peng January 2016 (has links)
Nowadays, physical inactivity has become a global problem. According to the research, about 5.3 million deaths all over the world in 2008 could be attributed to inactivity [1]. However, it is enough to do a little exercise every day to reduce the risk of premature deaths by as much as 30 percent. Due to the increasing working pressure, people do not have enough time to go to gym and do exercises, which means that the design of multi-functional fitness chair is necessary so that people can do exercise at home at any time. There have already been many similar household fitness products in the market, but most of them take up large space and the training part is very simple. In comparison, the multi-function fitness chair designed in this thesis combines several fitness equipment together in one chair, so it would save a lot of space, and yet provides possibility to perform versatile exercise. The product was designed in Autodesk Inventor 2015, and finite element analysis was performed in Inventor 2015 and for checking the strength and safety of the design.

Multi-functional adjustable table for people staying longer time in bed due to disability / Multifunktionell justerbart bord för personer som vistas längre tid i sängen på grund av funktionshinder

Yu, Miao, Huang, Nanhai, Xu, Qianxin January 2015 (has links)
This product presents the design of a useful multi-functional adjustable table. It will bring great convenience to people with disability who spend most of time in bed, so as to meet their daily needs. Since there are already many similar products on the market, we focused on updating the functions on table, which can help people reading books or using tablet PC on beds in a comfortable way. It can also support people to stand up and walk around. There is a C-clamp fixing the product consolidated to bed. Besides, the hydraulic and micro-computer systems are used to adjust the table into a proper height automatically. The whole structure was designed in Autodesk Inventor 2015, and the simulation, test, analysis experiments were made in Abaqus 6.1.2 to ensure its safety and stability. In addition, this design can be an incentive for the improvement of the auxiliary equipment, highlighting the importance of the development of mechanisms for the healthcare.

Chawa, Prashanth Kumar, Mukkamala, Sai Kushal January 2018 (has links)
This paper applies to the design and simulation of a shipping container made of sandwich panels. The amount of stresses acting on the body of the container is calculated and is optimized to reduce stresses for the better design output of the structure. The design aims to produce an application to reduce the tare weight of the container in order to increase the payload. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is performed to evaluate the strength of structures of both old and new models helps us to compare which model is better and more efficient. Complete design and analysis is performed using Autodesk Inventor. / no

Využití prostředí ANSYS Workbench pro teplotní výpočty elektrických strojů / Utilization of adaptive CAD systems at virtual model creation of electrical motors

Sedláčková, Petra January 2010 (has links)
Thermal analysis of electric machine is one of the key steps in design procedure. Traditionally, thermal calculations are done by analytical method, mostly based on equivalent electrical circuit, where thermal quantities are replaced by equivalent electrical quantities. These methods employ so-called electro thermal analogy. Different approach is to use Finite Element Method, which is the main goal of this thesis. First part of the thesis is devoted to description of CAD system Autodesk Inventor, which is modern parametric CAD for modelling of virtual prototypes. This system is then used for creation of three dimensional model of brushless DC machine. Second part is focused on thermal calculations in Ansys Workbench environment. Model of brushless DC machine created in Inventor is transferred into Ansys Workbench and thermal analysis is carried out.

Automation of Customization on TEXO’s FSX Weaving Loom Concept

Kidanemariam, Semere January 2012 (has links)
The continuously increasing demand of the customer requires equivalent response from the industry. This phenomenon of lean supply chain has also been seen in the paper and textile industries. TEXO AB produces customized weaving looms for the paper and textile industries. As every machine is redesigned to the customer requirements, TEXO needed to make the process efficient and effective. Once again the application of new computing technologies comes in handy. The practice of parametric design is applied to the TEXO’s FSX concept, which is one of the three weaving loom machine series supplied by TEXO. The frequent customization of FSX concept for each customer has created the need for faster redesign, better communication and quick order to suppliers. The automation is done on Autodesk Inventor using its iLogic and Shrinkwrap features. The parametric model is complete where all components to be customized are included. An excel sheet with design calculations, parameters and possible machine modules is developed together with the model. The feasibility of the automated design has been shown by the complete conformance of the model to the requirement. The excel sheet is very useful for improving the internal and external communications. After the completion of this project the redesign time is significantly reduced and the communication is simplified. It is also now possible to identify customization and module opportunities for future machines.
