Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo entendermos os processos históricos e geográficos pelo qual a dimensão espacial da Igreja Católica no atual município de Nova Iguaçu, na Baixada Fluminense, foi estruturada, assim como interpretar as ações desenvolvidas pela Igreja Católica mostrando o seu papel de gestor no desenvolvimento de várias ações sociais e religiosas. Nesta localidade, carente de políticas públicas favoreceu inicialmente nas comunidades eclesiais de base a construção de importantes espaços religiosos, assim como, posteriormente foram desenvolvidos movimentos populares que auxiliaram na sociabilidade e trocas de saberes e fazeres. As ações conduzidas pela Teologia da Libertação e dirigidas pela Diocese de Nova Iguaçu e pelo líder religioso Dom Adriano Hypólito possibilitou a expansão da conscientização da população em relação a seus direitos e deveres expressos principalmente nas inúmeras reivindicações por serviços públicos e sociais. Busca-se então, o entendimento na estruturação social de algumas áreas da Baixada Fluminense assim como desvendar as estratégias utilizadas pela Diocese de Nova Iguaçu durante a fim de promover a organização de seu território religioso, através da disseminação de suas estratégias religiosas. Tais ações auxiliaram no fortalecimento das ações coletivas da localidade, marcando a história do município de Nova Iguaçu e da instituição religiosa católica brasileira. / This research aims to understand the historical and geographical processes by which the spatial dimension of the Catholic Church in the current municipality of Nova Iguaçu, in the Baixada Fluminense, was structured as well as interpret the actions taken by the Catholic Church showing her managerial role in the development various social activities and religious.In this location, lacking in public policies initially favored in basic ecclesial communities to build important religious spaces, and subsequently were developed popular movements that helped in sociability and exchange of knowledge and practices. The actions carried out by the Liberation Theology and directed by the Diocese of Nova Iguaçu and the religious leader Don Adriano Hypólito enabled the expansion of public awareness regarding their rights and duties mainly expressed in the numerous claims for public and social services. The aim is then to understand the social structure of some areas of the Lowlands as well as uncover the strategies used by the Diocese of Nova Iguaçu in order to promote religious organization of its territory, through the dissemination of religious strategies. Such actions helped in strengthening the collective actions of the town, marking the history of the municipality of Nova Iguaçu and the Brazilian Catholic religious institution.

[pt] A presente dissertação de mestrado tem por objetivo discutir as bases conceituais e definir os critérios para instalação de um sistema de medição centralizada de energia elétrica na Baixada Fluminense, área de concessão da concessionária de energia do Rio de Janeiro (Light). O estudo estima o consumo de energia e o faturamento médio que resulta da instalação proposta em substituição ao sistema de medição tradicionalmente instalado. A localidade do estudo foi definida tendo em vista o elevado índice de perdas e a vulnerabilidade da rede elétrica exposta à comunidade. Dentre os preceitos metodológicos o trabalho inclui uma revisão bibliográfica da literatura sobre sistemas de medição de energia elétrica e estudo do perfil socioeconômico da região selecionada. O impacto da mudança tecnológica proposta no consumo foi avaliado estatisticamente com base no teste não paramétrico de Wilcoxon. Com base em dados reais de alguns municípios da região, o trabalho inclui também uma análise do comportamento do consumo antes e depois de a alternativa tecnológica ser implementada. / [en] The objective of this research is to discuss the conceptual basis and define the criteria for the installation of a Centralized measurement system in the Baixada Fluminense, concession area of the electricity utility of Rio de Janeiro (Light). The study estimates the energy consumption and the average revenue that results from the implementation of the proposed facility to replace the traditional measurement system in place. The sub area of concession selected was defined based on the following two characteristics: area associated with high rate of electricity losses and vulnerability of the power grid exposed to the community. The methodology used to develop the work included a literature review on systems of electricity metering and a study of the socioeconomic profile of the selected region. The impact of the proposed technological change on the energy consumption was statistically evaluated based on the nonparametric Wilcoxon test. Based on real data from municipalities located in the region, an analysis of energy consumption behavior was carried out before and after the technology alternative was implemented.

Nova Iguaçu, Baixada Fluminense, 2004: dans un Brésil aux paysages religieux et politique en pleine transformation, les groupes catholiques du Renouveau Charismatique et de la Théologie de la libération se trouvent en compétition. Dans un univers de grandes disparités sociales et où le taux d’homicides a augmenté de 130% entre 1980 et 2000, ces deux grandes orientations spirituelles doivent donner du sens à la pauvreté si elles veulent gagner “leurs” élections. Le cadre théorique de Pierre Bourdieu, grâce aux concepts d’agent, d’habitus, de capital social et surtout, de champ, permet de comprendre à la fois les forces de reproduction sociale et celles de transformation sociale, et ce, à travers des tensions, négociations et échanges de « capitaux » spécifiques entre les champs religieux et politique. Des entrevues ont été réalisées (dont 14 ont été retenues) avec des tenants de ces deux groupes. Elles ont permis de faire ressortir le poids de l’éthos sur les représentations de la pauvreté et sur les actions privilégiées par ces deux groupes. / Nova Iguaçu, Baixada Fluminense, 2004: in a Brazil on changing political and spiritual landscapes, the Catholics Charismatic Renewal groups and the Liberation Theology ones are in competition. In a universe of large social disparities where the homicide rate increased by 130% between 1980 and 2000, these two spiritual orientations must make sense of poverty if they want to win « their » elections. The theoretical framework of Pierre Bourdieu, thanks to the concepts of agent, habitus, social capital and especially, field, allows to understand the forces of reproduction and social transformation, and this, through tensions, negotiations and exchanges of specific "capital" between the religious and political fields. Interviews were conducted (14 of which were retained) with supporters of both groups. They made it possible to highlight the weight of the ethos on the representations of poverty and the actions favored by these two groups.
