One of the most controversial concepts within the Social Sciences, ideology has a fundamental place in the work of this Spanish-Salvadoran psychologist, who considered this concept as a study object from Social Psychology. We start from the Dialectical-Historical Materialism and from present discussions about ideology on this theoretical tradition, also from debates about the referred concept on the modern social thought and on the international and Latin-American psychology, to reflect the author?s formulations. We focused on his formulations considering the whole of the work, the historical context of his productions, and the main conjunctural influences, like the Salvadoran civil war and the Liberation Theology. We have selected 22 texts from Mart?n-Bar? that presented in their titles and/or abstracts the concept of ideology and/or derived terms (ideologization and de-ideologization), and/or concepts of alienation and/or consciousness and analyzed them on the time sequence of their elaborations. Our analysis allows us to afirm that Mart?n-Bar? reflected about the possibilities of psychologists actions on the subjective dimensions of life producted by objetive situations of oppression and exploitation. It is in this way that he discusses ideology, considering that it changes its meaning throughout his work, one that is a synonymous of ?point of view?, and the other, more complex, known as a false consciousness that conceals and hides the social determinants according to the interests of the dominant class. Ideology foments in the dominated classes an alienated consciousness which prevents them from understanding their own reality, their own form and identity and to be the subject of their own story. Against this occulting and classist function that ideology possesses, the author claims for the de-ideologization as a way to deconstruct the dominant ideology, the disalienation to enable the individuals to overcome the alienated consciousness and both as components of a conscientization that aims to build new ways of critical consciousness and relations with a transformer and liberator horizon, politically oriented in favor of popular majorities.

On the semiclassical limit of the defocusing Davey-Stewartson II equation / Sur la limite semi-classique de l'équation de Davey-Stewartson II défocalisant

Assainova, Olga 30 November 2018 (has links)
Inverse scattering is the most powerful tool in theory of integrable systems. Starting in the late sixties resounding great progress was made in (1+1) dimensional problems with many break-through results as on soliton interactions. Naturally the attention in recent years turns towards higher dimensional problems as the Davey-Stewartson equations, an integrable generalisation of the (1+1)-dimensionalcubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The defocusing Davey-Stewartson II equation, in its semi-classical limit has been shown in numerical experiments to exhibit behavior that qualitatively resembles that of its one-dimensional reduction, namely the generation of a dispersive shock wave: smooth initial data develop a zone rapid modulated oscillations in the vicinity of shocks of solutions for the corresponding dispersionless equations for the same initial data. The present thesis provides a first step to study this problem analytically using the inverse scattering transform method. Both the direct and inverse scattering transform for DSII can be expressed as D-bar equations. We consider the direct spectral transform for the defocusing Davey-Stewartson II equation for smooth initial data in the semi-classical limit. The direct spectral transform involves a singularly perturbed elliptic Dirac system in two dimensions. We introduce a WKB-type method for this problem and prove that it is well defined for sufficiently large modulus of the spectral parameter k ∈ ℂ by controlling the solution of an associated nonlinear eikonal problem. Further, we give numerical evidence that the method is accurate for such k in the semiclassical limit. Producing this evidence requires both the numerical solution of the singularly perturbed Dirac system and the numerical solution of the eikonal problem. We present a new method for the numerical solution of the eikonal problem valid for sufficiently large |k|. For a particular potential we are able to solve the eikonal problem in a closed form for all k, acalculation that yields some insight into the failure of the WKB method for smaller values of |k|. The numerical calculations of the direct spectral transform indicate how to study the singularly perturbed Dirac system for values of |k| so small that there is no global solution of the eikonal problem. We provide a rigorous semiclassical analysis of the solution for real radial potentials at k=0, which yields an asymptotic formula for the reflection coefficient at k = 0 and suggests an annular structure for the solution that may be exploited when |k| ≠ 0 is small. The numerics also suggest that for some potentials the reflection coefficient converges point-wise as ε ↓ 0 to a limiting function that is supported in the domain of k-values on which the eikonal problem does not have a global solution. We suggest that singularities of the eikonal function play a role similar to that of turning points in the one-dimensional theory.

In general, consumer studies place women under three different prisms: as a coadjuvant, when considering that their consumption activities depend on the masculine, seeking conditions of equity when analyzing when it masculiniza to a situation of consumption or in conservative positions, by studying consumption in their roles as mother, wife or in household-related processes. Aligned with Pierre Bourdieu who advocates the existence of a kind of male domination in society, operating through well defined mechanisms and their reflexes can be seen in consumer behavior. Specifically, beer and bar in Brazil are reflections of this pre-established dynamics, where the woman is seen as an object within a historically masculinized environment. The objective of this dissertation is to analyze the female consumption of beer in bars in the city of Porto Alegre and to verify the possible influence of socio-historical consumer patterns, describing the female behavior within the studied context. For this, a qualitative research was carried out, inspired by ethnographic studies, at the moment of the consumption of beer by women in bars of the city, identifying the meanings and the representations of the female consumption of beer. The results were structured in three parts for discussion: first through market mythologies that interfere with consumption. In the second part through the discourses and the reflex in the feminine behavior. The third part brings the context and the product through the lens of the interviewees. This study encouraged theoretical contributions in advancing the position of women in consumer studies in a privileged position within a masculinized environment, suggesting the existence of unfoldments for new studies. From a professional point of view, the study inspires a set of practical suggestions to make female beer consumption experiences more inclusive using brand positioning, market performance of companies in the sector and the emergence of new products.

Search for the production of the Higgs boson associated with a pair of top quarks with the Atlas detector at the LHC / Recherche de la production du boson de Higgs associé à une paire de quark top avec le détecteur Atlas auprès du LHC

Wang, Chao 06 December 2017 (has links)
The production of the Higgs boson associated with a pair of top quarks is one of the most important Higgs boson production modes yet still not observed. Therefore, its discovery is one of the most challenging searches after the Higgs discovery: not only will it be the first time we can observe this Higgs production mode but also we will be able to measure its Yukawa coupling to the top quark. The measured results can answer the basic question of the Standard Model (SM) and can also search for any hints of new physics beyond the SM prediction. An analysis searching for the production of the Higgs boson associated with a pair of top quarks in three leptons final states is presented in this thesis. It is performed with the data collected by the ATLAS detector in 2015 and 2016 during the so-called « Run 2 » campaign corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1 at a center of mass energy of 13 TeV. It uses a boosted decision tree algorithm to discriminate between signal and background. The dominant background of fake leptons is estimated with the data-driven matrix method (Matrix Method). For a 125 GeV Standard Model Higgs boson, an excess of events over the expected background from other SM processes is found with an observed significance of 2.2 standard deviations, compared to an expectation of 1.5 standard deviations. The best fit for the $t\bar tH$ production cross section is $1.5^{+0.8}_{-0.7}$ times the SM expectation, consistent with the SM value of the Yukawa coupling to top quarks.

Ρουστέμογλου, Ήλια 28 September 2009 (has links)
As one can understand from the title, our main subject is a method for solving nonlinear partial differential equations and in particular a family of such equations, called evolution equations. Many of them admit a special kind of solutions, known as solitons. One of our basic interests is the integrability of a nonlinear evolution equation, although a specific definition for that does not exist in the bibliography. However, a partial differential equation is considered to be integrable when it can be linearized directly or indirectly. By indirect linearization we mean the existence of a Lax pair for the initial equation and this connection is explained in terms of operator theory. In the frame of integrability, a large number of methods dealing with the study and analysis of nonlinear evolution equations has been developed. We briefly mention some of them and present some examples, while we focus on the analytic description of a method which was introduced by Zakharov and Shabat, in 1974. This method was developed right after the Inverse Scattering Method and it is known as dressing method or ZS scheme. In order to present it, a dressed and undressed operator are introduced, by the use of operators only whithout refering to the scattering data. Based on those operators the generalized Lax equation is produced. Then we present a number of examples of evolution equations which can be solved via the dressing method and finally we constract soliton solutions for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation by solving the Gelfand-Levitan-Marchenko integral equation. Appart from the description of dressing method in its initial form, a quick review of recent papers and results is considered. The method evolved through time and was connected with some problems of complex analysis and specifically the Riemann-Hilbert (RH) and dbar problems. Those two problems arise in many mathematical and physical applications. From a wide range of recent published articles, we analytically present one which was written by Bogdanov and Zakharov (2002) and deals with Boussinesq equation. The continuous spectrum and soliton solutions are investigated, using a special form of dressind method called dbar-dressing. Soliton solutions for the Boussinesq equations demonstrate a quite extraordinary behaviour destroying the stereotype of usual solitons which are considered to be stable objects.
