Framgång både på och utanför fotbollsplan : En benchmarking studie om AC Milans intäktsmöjligheter

Oldinger, Anna, Nekmouche, Henri January 2008 (has links)

As the football industry develops into a highly competitive commercialized industry, football clubs must step up and improve their business strategy. This study focuses on the famous Italian club AC Milan, a club with many international titles but with declining revenues. The purpose of this thesis is to study how AC Milan can generate higher revenues by comparing its marketing and business strategy with the most profitable clubs in the world, the benchmarking partners Real Madrid and Manchester United. By using a benchmarking model, following the five steps of this process, conducting observation studies, an interview and examining secondhand information, gaps between the clubs were evaluated and analyzed. These evaluations became together with chosen theoretical references, the basis for the improvement suggestions and conclusions shown by the authors. The outcome of the benchmarking study shows that AC Milan has good possibilities to improve its match day revenues and its commercial revenues, through renovating and using its arena more efficiently and expanding its brand to unexplored markets, such as Asia. AC Milan will as a result base their business on more balanced and proportionate revenue channels.

Benchmarking in foodservice operations

Johnson, Bonnie C. 09 April 1998 (has links)
The objective of this study was to identify usage of foodservice performance measures, important activities in foodservice benchmarking, and benchmarking attitudes, beliefs, and practices by foodservice directors. The design of this study included two parts: (1) eleven expert panelists involved in a Delphi technique to identify and rate importance of foodservice performance measures and rate the importance of benchmarking activities, and (2) a national mail survey of 247 randomly selected foodservice directors from college/university, correctional, health care, and school foodservice operations to identify attitudes, beliefs, and practices about benchmarking and usage of performance measures. Statistical analyses of the expert panel data included frequencies of importance rating of performance measures and benchmarking activities. The expert panel identified 89 performance measures, which were subsequently consolidated into 19 generic performance measures. Regarding the national survey, a χ² analysis was conducted on: usage of types of benchmarking compared with knowledge and importance of benchmarking, and experience with benchmarking outcomes; foodservice directors' category of foodservice operation compared with usage of performance measures, type of benchmarking and benchmarking partner(s); and foodservice directors' knowledge of benchmarking compared to importance of benchmarking. According to the national survey, the most commonly used performance measures were: food cost percentage, cost per unit or area of service, and meals per labor hour. Usage of internal, external, and functional/generic benchmarking was associated with foodservice directors' knowledge about benchmarking, importance of benchmarking, and general experience with benchmarking outcomes. Foodservice directors' category of foodservice operation was associated with usage of types of benchmarking partners, and with some performance measures and types of benchmarking, while not others. Foodservice directors' knowledge about benchmarking was related to perceived importance of benchmarking. Sixty-one percent of respondents reported needing knowledge and skills about benchmarking. This research provides insight into performance measures that are or could be used in foodservice benchmarking. It also suggests that benchmarking has at least some importance, particularly to those with knowledge about benchmarking. It could be a useful management tool to foodservice directors, regardless of category of foodservice operation. Research results were used to develop a benchmarking guide for foodservice directors. / Graduation date: 1998

Současná situace na českém energetickém trhu: s důrazem na čtvrté regulační období Energetického regulačního úřadu / Current Situation on the Czech Electricity Market: with an Emphasis on the Fourth Regulatory Period of the Czech Energy Regulatory Office

Krška, Štěpán January 2014 (has links)
This thesis examines the current situation on the electricity market in the Czech Republic. A particular emphasis is put on the regulation of distribution system operators (DSOs). The Czech regulator applies only general efficiency factors for all incumbents, and the efficiency of the incumbents is not taken into account in the regulatory formula. In many countries, the regulators apply benchmarking methods to assess the efficiency of operators. This thesis analyses the current regulatory formula in international comparison and considers the application of benchmarking methods to the regulation of DSOs. The first part provides a description of the theoretical approach to the regulation of network industries, relevant legal norms, the current situation on the Czech electricity market and practices of the regulatory bodies in selected European states. The second, empirical, part presents an international benchmarking study based on data of 15 regional DSOs including two Czech operators. The study examines the application of yardstick methods using data envelopment analysis (DEA) and stochastic frontier analysis (SFA). Based on our results, we find that the cost efficiency of each of the Czech DSOs is different. This suggests that introducing individual efficiency factors in the fourth regulatory...

Protótipo de um repositório de dados de Benchmarking / Prototype of a Benchmarking data repository

Lima Junior, Jair Ferreira 20 December 2005 (has links)
Many organizations use a learning and improvement process based in the comparation and observation, named benchmarking, but few organizations really know how to make it correctly. The technical provides an external stimulus which encourages a continuum learning environment, making the companies adaptable to the new knowledge. Benchmarking became an interesting focus when we notice that the improvement of the processes of an organization is fundamental for it to reach a competitive advantage, and also when it\'s clear that this improvement can come from the exchange of learning with other corporations. This study presents a prototype of a repository of benchmarking information with access through internet, which provides a data base to the participant organizations, and with the aim to make easy the exchange of experiences among the organizations. To the effectiveness of this work, literature study about benchmarking were carried out, as well as data bases benchmarking existing in Brazil and abroad, which could serve as a guide to the development of a conceptual model of repository, besides the construction of a data base composed of indicators of performance and better practices about benchmarking. Along this study it was studied the models of electronic businesses, their importance and the forms to structure a data bank and the questions related to the security in systems of information. To finalize it was demonstrated in details how was the benchmarkingdata base constructed and the website of the project, named RVB - Benchmarking Virtual Net with the objective of enrich the repository model and the conceptual/theoretical work.
