Análise do processo de furação profunda no aço SAE 4144M endurecido utilizando MQL e broca helicoidal revestida

Cardoso, Marlon José 27 March 2014 (has links)
The drilling processes are widely used in the metalworking industry and involve high complexity when happen in depths more than five times the diameter. For these cases it is necessary to use special machines and tools, and pressurized fluids to enhance chip removal, with cooling and lubricating properties that meet stringent requirements. This complexity adds costs to the process, Increases the environmental impact and the health risks for the operator. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the deep hole drilling process (up to 24 diameters) using a twist drill coated (carbide system), the material is SAE 4144M steel forged and tempered hardness of 39 HRC, using system Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL). The study compares conventional processes and MQL, with the analysis of the influence on the wear of drills coated with TiAlN and AlCrN-based. The conventional coolant uses mineral based oil integral pressurized to 50 bar, while the MQL system, using synthetic oil at 10 bar pressure. The formulation of the experiments is given by “design of experiment” (DOE), considering the variables: cutting speed, feed rate wear, temperature of the work piece and chip form. It was found that the life of the drill in MQL process was higher than that in the conventional process, due to the fact that the temperature of the cut is, more stable, although higher. With the appropriate choice of cutting parameters by the method, the AlCrN-based coating showed less wear and adhesion due to resistant to high temperatures.

Contact mechanics with the boundary elements method for the simulation of rock TBM tunneling.

Marco Antônio Brasiel Sampaio 12 November 2009 (has links)
A computational implementation based on contact mechanics and on the Boundary Element Method is developed in order to simulate the interaction between disc cutters and rock mass. The contact simulation considers initially a potential contact area which is updated during an incremental load process, in such way the surface can include elements in separation, stick or partial slip. At each incremental load step the configuration of the model shall be evaluated and the values computed at such step are used as parameter to the next load step until the end of the loading process. The investigated model consists in two parallel cutter discs on a flat elastic foundation. In the first simulation the penetration of the discs are studied and the results are compared against a finite element simulation. In the second simulation, the stress distribution in the rock mass is evaluated considering different spacing between the disc cutters by keeping the same load. In addition, two benchmark problems of contact mechanics, such as the cylinder and the flat punch on a elastic foundation, were modeled in order to validate the proposed algorithm. The obtained results were compared against analytical and numerical solutions.

Analýza vyvrtávacího procesu automatické horizontální vyvrtávačky / The analysis of boring process of automatic horizontal boring machine

Šohajek, Jiří January 2008 (has links)
The object of this dissertation is to analyse a drilling process of an automatic horizontal boring machine the SVD2 for drilling of bearing holes. There were problems with vibrations during drilling process, causing an extreme noise and this dissertation solves them. First of all it was necessary to analyse the vibrations, to examine a machining process and measure machine dynamics and statics. Another task was to compare measured results with mathematical models and after their analysis to design structural and other solutions. The SVD2 machine was designed on the basis of a previous type the SVD. Its conversion to a new one was based on adding of six spindles. As a result a number of drilled bodies was increased from one to four, so a performance was increased four times. That is why there was an original intention to rebuilt the other two spindle machines. To leave the basical parts of the machine without any modification ( such as a reinforcement of a mount and adjusting of a bigger distance of a side linear spindle guideway and a cross linear guideway of a support for clamping devices), would be unsuitable solution, which was confirmed after a measurement and a following analysis.

Extra Ordinary

Waldrep, Lana 01 January 2010 (has links)
The title of this thesis Extra Ordinary is intentionally ambiguous. Depending on how you read it, it can refer to either the very ordinary or to that which is outside of the ordinary. The works described within these pages functions similarly. From person to person and with time they move from the ordinary to beyond and back again. How can something be both mysterious and understood at the same time? How can I as a painter create a space where diametrically opposed forces can coexist and what is the effect of viewing such an object? This thesis addresses these issues with personal anecdote and through description of artwork and the art making process

A study of the biology and population dynamics of Synanthedon tipuliformis (Clerck) (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae) in Canterbury, New Zealand

Scott, R. R. January 1975 (has links)
The study covered the period August 1971 to February 1975 and was conducted in three blackcurrant plots. One plot comprised mature bushes that were pruned but not sprayed during the course of the study; the other two plots were subject to full normal managerial practices including spraying. Information on various aspects of the biology was revealed and this clarified some of the areas about which little was known previously especially for the Southern Hemisphere. Fecundity is 100 eggs per female, fertility in the field is at least 97% and predation of eggs is always less than 5%. There are six larval instars. Fungi of the genera Beauveria and Cordyceps cause up to 10% mortality of the larvae. This is the first record of the latter genus infecting S. tipuliformis. A sampling plan was developed to enable estimates of the population of S. tipuliformis at various stages to be obtained. This gave information on the distribution of stages of the life cycle within the canes according to the age of the wood. These samples also permitted the construction of life tables for three generations of S. tipuliformis in one plot and one generation in the others. Replication both in space and time was therefore achieved and the results were further replicated by considering each plot as nine separate blocks. The dispersion of the egg and larval stages was tested and found to fit the negative binomial model. A common k, kc, was calculated for the egg stage and the larval c stage. Though not vital to this present study various transformations of the raw data were investigated to see which were most appropriate in order to stabilise the variance for analyses in which such suitability is vital. The logarithmic transformation based on the k parameter of the k negative model [log (x + k/2)) was the most successful. The mortality of the eggs was quite low but a significant proportion of the emerging larvae fail to colonise the pith of a cane. This mortality is density dependent. Other mortalities including winter pruning are density independent or random. The key stage of the life cycle revealed by the life tables is the adult survival. This survival and the consequent population trend index determined from the number of eggs laid was found to be affected by the prevailing weather during the flight period especially during the last week of November and the first two weeks of December.
