A presente pesquisa aborda diferentes manifestações discursivas verificadas em um segmento da imprensa escrita brasileira nos processos de preparação das seleções brasileira ao longo dos anos delimitados pelas Copas do Mundo de 1950 e 1966. Nesse contexto, procuramos perquirir a emergência dos saberes associados à autoridade do médico da CBD e sua determinante correlação na autorização e assentamento de novas expertises acionadas com o intento de maximizar a eficiência atlética dos jogadores de futebol. Procuramos investigar de quais modos se manifestam alguns aspectos relacionados à afamada modernização da gestão inaugurada pela chegada de João Havelange à presidência da CBD, em 1958 e, dessa forma, como se encadeiam permanências e rupturas no âmbito das questões técnicas atinentes ao preparo dos futebolistas. O período aqui enfocado contempla os processos seminais de especialização do condicionamento físico dos jogadores, da submissão dos futebolistas a uma verdadeira plêiade de especialidades médicas, incluindo a preparação psicológica, e, por conseguinte, da afirmação de um regime de economia de poder e controle centrados no corpo dos sujeitos jogadores de futebol / This research deals with the different discursive expressions found in a segment of the Brazilian press during the preparations of the Brazilian national soccer team for the World Cups from 1950 to 1966. In this context, we aimed to investigate the emergence of a discourse of expertise among physicians of the Brazilian Sports Confederation (CBD) and their role in the authorization and implementation of new techniques intended to maximize the athletic efficiency of Brazilian footballers. We explored the ways in which some aspects of this process were related to the famous modernization of football management inaugurated by the arrival of João Havelange to the presidency of the CBD in 1958 and the subsequent consequences for continuities and discontinuities in technical questions related to the athletic preparation of players. During this period, the preparation of players on the national team involved initial specialized physical conditioning and the submission of players to a veritable host of medical specialties, including psychological preparation. As a result, this process contributed to the construction of a regime of power and control centered on the bodies of the footballers

Esta dissertação propõe um estudo sobre a questão racial no futebol brasileiro atual a partir das histórias orais de vida de alguns negros que atuaram entre 1970 e 2010. O texto é dividido em três partes: na primeira, é apresentada a história do projeto, com destaque para as discussões teóricas e metodológicas; na segunda, são expostas sete narrativas correspondentes às redes de jogadores, treinadores, árbitros, dirigentes, torcedores, jornalistas e intelectuais; na terceira, são encaminhadas interpretações levando-se em consideração o conjunto dos documentos orais constituídos. Nesta última parte, são explicitados eixos temáticos que buscam articular as experiências individuais com as coletivas e traçar as especificidades de cada profissão abordada. Almeja-se, desta maneira, contribuir para o debate acadêmico com a incorporação dos discursos destes negros e a reflexão sobre as relações raciais no Brasil tomando por base as experiências e as memórias destas pessoas em nosso futebol. / This thesis proposes a study on the racial issues within the current Brazilian football scene from the oral life stories of some black men that played between 1970 and 2010. The text is composed of three parts: the first one presents the history of the project, highlighting theoretical and methodological discussions; the second one shows seven narratives corresponding to the webs of: football players, coaches, referees, directors of football clubs, fans, journalists and intellectuals; the third one develops interpretations taking into account the set of oral documents obtained. This last part reveals thematic axes that seek to articulate individual experiences with the collective ones and to delineate the specifics of each considered occupation. The aim is to contribute to the academic debate by absorbing these black men speeches and by reflecting on the racial relations in Brazil, having as a starting point the experiences and memories of such people in our football.

To achieve such target, besides the marketing and strategy bibliographic research and more specifically in the sport marketing area alongside the analisys of secondary data of the sport industry, a comparison with English football clubs was endevoured. In the empiric phase, two Brazilian football clubs and two English clubs were studied in depth; that made possible the usage of multiple case studies methodology approach. At the research end, the efforts made possible to conclude that a limited market view prevails in the Brazilian market leading the football clubs to neglect important revenue sources not olny on their quantitative aspects but regarding the building of a solid relation with the fan and consumer. It is believed that the analysis peformed in this research and the correlations stablished with the financial data presented may bring contributions both to the academic study of sport and to the Brazilian clubs when rethinking their relations with the fan and carry out actions to bring the fans back to the stadiums. It is believed that the analisys performed in this research may contribute both to the advance of the academic research on this industry but also to the Brazilian Football clubs by leading them to rethink their relationship with their fans and bring them back to the stadiums with all the benefits but simply matchday revenue / A presente pesquisa, de cunho exploratório, buscou entender o ambiente de negócios dos times de futebol no que se refere à administração de marketing e a diversidade de estratégias para obtenção de receitas. Para tanto se optou, além da pesquisa bibliográfica no âmbito do marketing, da estratégia e, especificamente, do marketing esportivo, e de análise em fontes de dados secundários do setor esportivo, por uma análise comparativa com clubes do futebol inglês. Na fase empírica foram estudados em profundidade dois clubes de futebol no Brasil e dois na Inglaterra, o que possibilitou a aplicação da metodologia de estudo de casos múltiplos. Ao final da pesquisa foi possível concluir que há uma limitada visão de mercado no cenário brasileiro, além da negligência dos clubes nacionais para com fontes de receitas importantes não apenas em seu aspecto numérico, mas, sobretudo, no que se refere à construção de relacionamento com o consumidor/torcedor. Acredita-se que as análises feitas nesta pesquisa e sua correlação com os números apresentados trazem contribuições tanto para o avanço da pesquisa acadêmica sobre o tema como também aos clubes brasileiros no sentido de repensarem sua relação com o torcedor de forma a trazê-lo de volta aos estádios o que, certamente, poderá gerar novos recursos que vão além da simples receita de bilheteria
