Online streaming has revolutionized the way that people consume films and television. This study will examine how Netflix and Hulu have disrupted the North American distribution oligopoly and asses whether their low subscription prices are adversely affecting major cable companies who dominate the distribution sphere. A review of existing literature on the topic will explore the influence of the Internet on the entertainment distribution oligopoly as well as consumer trends and behavior favoring Netflix and Hulu. Additionally, data from 2007 to 2014 will be used to analyze variables that indicate a correlation between Netflix’s and Hulu’s growth and Time Warner Cable’s decreasing revenue.

Self-service Business Intelligence är idag ett relativt nytt koncept och det blir vanligare idag att verksamheter börjar röra sig mot denna nya trend inom Business Intelligence för att att göra sina användare mer flexibla i sitt beslutsfattande. Anpassningen idag till Self- service BI är idag är låg och har sjunkit de senare trots stora investeringar. Konceptet med Self-service BI är kan vara svårt för användarna att förstå och det finns ett antal faktorer som kan bidra till att öka anpassningen och uppnå framgångar med att tillämpa SSBI. Denna studien syftar till att ta reda på: ”Vad finns det för kritiska framgångsfaktorer för att tillämpa Self-Service BI? ”. För att besvara frågan användes en kvalitativ metod och insamlingen för data utfördes med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Intervjuerna utfördes på 6 företag med 6 olika respondenter som har erfarenhet inom SSBI och BI. Respondenterna bidrog med empirisk underlag för att kunna besvara studiens frågeställning, men även till litteraturen med information som litteraturen tidigare inte nämner. Resultaten har visat att svaren från respondenterna och litteraturen går i linje med varandra när det gäller kritiska framgångsfaktorer. Framgångsfaktorerna som diskuteras och tas upp av respondenterna och litteraturen var: Rätt verktyg för rätt användare & anpassningsbara användargränssnitt, utbildning, data governance & data management, kartlägga användare och tillgänglighet av data för att framgångsrikt tillämpa SSBI. Nya faktorer som framkom under de semistrukturerade intervjuerna med respondenterna var: Change management, kommunikation och experimentering & testning.

Operational support as an area of process mining aims to predict the temporal performance of individual cases and the overall business process. Although seasonal effects, delays and performance trends are well-known to exist for business processes, there is up until now no prediction model available that explicitly captures this. In this paper, we introduce time series Petri net models. These models integrate the control flow perspective of Petri nets with time series prediction. Our evaluation on the basis of our prototypical implementation demonstrates the merits of this model in terms of better accuracy in the presence of time series effects.

This diploma thesis is focused on exploring possibilities of financial data analysis using bank API. Theoretical section of this diploma thesis is focused on Business Intelligence and analysis of tools which were used for achieve established goal of this diploma thesis. Based on these facts was created Power Pivot sheet, which allows users of the bank to create more detailed analysis of their financial transactions.

Brno: Mendel Univer-sity, 2015 In this thesis are described a data processing techniques with a focus on Busi-ness Intelligence with using data warehouses. Then is performed analysis of the business environment and determined key performance indicators that will be monitored. In the next section is designed data warehouse that enables reporting the above mentioned of indicators, including their evolution in time. Subsequently is designed and implemented a user interface that makes the resulting reports will be available by the users. In conclusion, the resulting solution is evaluated, both from an economic and from an implementation viewpoint.
