O protótipo refere-se à construção de um modelo que está em processo de teste para ser comercializado. Atualmente a forma mais difundida é a construção efetiva das peças, no entanto existe no mercado softwares que realizam essa atividade virtualmente. Assim, esse estudo tem por objetivo verificar a similaridade visual entre os protótipos virtuais e os produzidos no processo tradicional, tendo em vista caimento, forma e volume, para validação de novos projetos na indústria do vestuário. Para tanto, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa exploratória, e como forma de abordagem do problema foram realizados quatro experimentos que compreendem a construção de protótipos pela técnica virtual e a manual. / This research discusses the practice of prototyping in the apparel industry. The prototype relates to the construction of a model which is in testing process to be marketed. Currently the most widespread form is the actual construction of the pieces, However there is software on the market that perform this activity virtually. Thus, this study aims to verify the visual similarity between the virtual prototypes and those produced in the traditional process, in order to trim, shape and volume for validation of new projects in the clothing industry. To this end, an exploratory research was conducted, and as a way of addressing the problem were conducted four experiments which include the construction of prototypes for virtual and technical manual.

Design and Construction of Chassis for Uniti L7e Vehicle

Chassis is the primary structural component of an automobile. It is the main supporting structure of a vehicle to which all other systems like braking, suspension and differential are attached. In this thesis, a methodology for L7e category vehicle chassis design and structural stability analysis is presented. The present car being developed at Uniti Sweden AB is classified as L7e category vehicle as per the European Union, therefore the chassis developed in this thesis considers the specific characteristics that vehicles under this category demands for. A literature study is carried out to review various existing designs of vehicle chassis, latest innovations and advanced materials used to manufacture the same. The various types of forces and stresses commonly acting on chassis structures are analyzed and their effects on the vehicle is understood. After completing literature study, several findings are listed in a systematic manner, by providing ample arguments to justify each of them. The pro-con analysis is conducted to evaluate merits and demerits of each alternative type of chassis and the material to manufacture it. The most essential design criteria are derived from the QFD (Quality function deployment) which then acts as important guidelines during the actual design process. Structural chassis frame is designed as per the design criteria, using the CAD software CATIAV5R19 and the structural stability of the same is tested and analyzed using ANSYS 15.0 software. From the results of these analysis tests the static structural stability of the design is confirmed.

The Art of Designing DNA Nanostructures with CAD Software

Since the arrival of DNA nanotechnology nearly 40 years ago, the field has progressed from its beginnings of envisioning rather simple DNA structures having a branched, multi-strand architecture into creating beautifully complex structures comprising hundreds or even thousands of unique strands, with the possibility to exactly control the positions down to the molecular level. While the earliest construction methodologies, such as simple Holliday junctions or tiles, could reasonably be designed on pen and paper in a short amount of time, the advent of complex techniques, such as DNA origami or DNA bricks, require software to reduce the time required and propensity for human error within the design process. Where available, readily accessible design software catalyzes our ability to bring techniques to researchers in diverse fields and it has helped to speed the penetration of methods, such as DNA origami, into a wide range of applications from biomedicine to photonics. Here, we review the historical and current state of CAD software to enable a variety of methods that are fundamental to using structural DNA technology. Beginning with the first tools for predicting sequence-based secondary structure of nucleotides, we trace the development and significance of different software packages to the current state-of-the-art, with a particular focus on programs that are open source.

Desenvolvimento e caracterização de uma mão robótica acionada por atuadores de liga com memória de forma

In this context, this paper presents the development of a robotic hand drive which is not realized by conventional actuators, constituted of wires of a shape memory alloy (SMA). The mechanical structure of the robot hand was designed in CAD software and subsequently manufactured with ABS polymer through rapid prototyping using a three-dimensional printer. The project was designed partially based on the physiological characteristics of the human hand, regarding especially to the angles formed by fingers’ phalanges. A mechanical system was developed in order to compactly accommodate the thin wires of a NiTi SMA, known in this work as Artificial Muscle (AM) which made the compression of SMA wires easier. The performance (operation) of the fingers occurs by the AM activation that are connected to cables arranged in the lower part of the fingers’ structure, which, when activated, perform the movement of flexion. The return of each phalanx, or extension movement of the fingers occurs passively. Elastic elements were installed in the upper part of the phalanges which are responsible for this movement. To monitor the angles formed by each phalanx was used a resistive type sensor that is inserted inside it, varying its electric resistance according to angle variation. On top of this system, a fuzzy logic based controller was developed and it proved to be effective on monitoring the position of the robotic hand’s fingers. The performance of the robot hand can be considered appropriate, as it could partially achieve the desired angles based on the project design. / Este trabalho está fundamentado em estudos que comprovam o grande índice de rejeição por parte de pessoas amputadas ao utilizarem próteses de membros superiores devido a problemas diversos, tais como: peso, ruído elevado e falta de antropomorfismo. Nesse contexto, neste trabalho é apresentado o desenvolvimento de uma mão robótica cujo acionamento é realizado por atuadores não convencionais, constituídos de fios de uma Liga com Memória de Forma (LMF). A estrutura mecânica da mão robótica foi projetada em programa computacional CAD e posteriormente fabricada em polímero ABS por meio de prototipagem rápida usando uma impressora tridimensional. O projeto foi concebido parcialmente com base nas características fisiológicas da mão humana, no que diz respeito principalmente aos ângulos formados pelas falanges dos dedos. Foi desenvolvido um sistema mecânico para acondicionar os fios finos de uma LMF de Ni-Ti de forma compacta denominado neste trabalho por Músculo Artificial (MA) o que facilitou a compactação dos fios de LMF. A atuação dos dedos ocorre pela ativação dos MA que estão conectados a cabos dispostos na parte inferior da estrutura dos dedos, os quais, ao serem ativados, realizam o movimento de flexão. O retorno de cada falange, ou seja, movimento de extensão dos dedos, ocorre de forma passiva. Foram instalados na parte superior das falanges elementos elásticos que são responsáveis por este movimento. Para monitorar os ângulos formados por cada falange foi utilizado um sensor do tipo resistivo que fica inserido dentro das falanges, variando sua resistência elétrica de acordo com a variação dos ângulos. The city of Natal has about 120 gas stations, of which only has an environmental license for operation. Discontinuities in the offices were notified by the Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Norte to carry out the environmental adaptations, among which is the investigation of environmental liabilities. The preliminary and confirmatory stages of this investigation consisted in the evaluation of soil gas surveys with two confirmatory chemical analysis of BTEX, PAH and TPH. To get a good evaluation and interpretation of results obtained in the field, it became necessary three-dimensional representation of them. We used a CAD software to graph the equipment installed in a retail service station fuel in Natal, as well as the plumes of contamination by volatile organic compounds. The tool was concluded that contamination is not located in the current system of underground storage of fuel development, but reflects the historical past in which tanks were removed not tight gasoline and diesel / Dentre as atividades econ?micas potencialmente poluidoras que comprometem a qualidade das ?guas subterr?neas est?o os Postos Revendedores de Combust?veis. A cidade do Natal possui cerca de 120 postos de combust?veis, dos quais, apenas um possui licen?a ambiental de opera??o. As fases preliminar e confirmat?ria desta investiga??o consistiram na avalia??o de gases do solo com duas sondagens confirmat?rias para an?lises qu?micas de BTEX, HPA e TPH. I detta examensarbete har en undersökning utförts på konsultföretaget ÅF, och deras arbetssätt inom dokumentation och kontrollanläggningar för att utreda om det fanns effektiviseringspotentialer. Undersökningen har i största del innefattat intervjuer med verksamma konsulter inom kontrollanläggningar och elmontage på transformatorstationer. Konsulterna arbetade som konstruktörer och tog fram ritningar främst till kontrollutrustningar. Resultatet från intervjuerna analyserades för att sedan dra slutsatser om effektiviseringsmöjligheter inom verksamheten. Olika kontor i verksamheten undersöktes och arbetssättet varierade på de olika kontoren. En skillnad var det CAD-program som användes och ett förslag var att använda samma program. Effektiviseringspotentialer fanns också genom att återanvända kretsscheman till viss del från föregående projekt. Ett annat förslag var därför att införa databaser där kretsscheman kan samlas in och delas mellan de olika kontoren. / In this thesis, a study has been carried out for the consulting company ÅF, and their work method within documentation and control facilities to investigate whether there were any potential for efficiency improvements. The investigation has largely involved interviews with operating consultants within the control facility on substations. The consultants worked as electrical designers and produced drawings mainly for control equipment. The results of the interviews were analyzed to draw conclusions about the efficiency potentials within the business. Different offices in the business were examined and the work approach varied between the offices. One difference was the CAD-software used and a suggestion was to use the same program. Efficiency improvement potentials were also by re-using electrical schematics to some extent from previous projects and another suggestion was to establish databases where electrical schematics can be gathered and shared between the different offices.
