Porovnání vakcinačních strategií a schémat v zemích EU a v ČR / Comparison of vaccination strategies and schemes in the European union and in the Czech Republic

VLČKOVÁ, Iva January 2013 (has links)
Vaccination is one of the most important preventive epidemiological measures. My thesis focuses on comparing vaccination strategies of the EU countries with those of the Czech Republic. When collecting information, I studied the present situation of all twenty seven EU countries, including WHO recommendations on immunization, and suggestions of both ECDC and vaccine producers. Available incidence data about particular preventable diseases and vaccination coverage are also mentioned. Furthermore, I also point out the effectiveness of vaccination, illustrating the fact on the occurrence of specific illnesses. This is especially apparent from Czech vaccination schedule for measles, which, owing to taken measures, occur only as an imported malady. Vaccination schedules vary considerably among the EU countries. The Czech Republic follows same schedules as most of the EU countries and has a well-developed vaccination system, established in Notice no. 537/2006 Sb. of vaccination against infectious diseases, as amended. The number of illnesses, vaccination against which is prescribed, almost doesn?t differ from other European countries, and neither does the sickness rate. Quite to the contrary; compared to certain EU states, vaccination coverage in the Czech Republic is steadily high and recommendations to update vaccination schedules arise only from new findings and freshly emerged epidemiological situation. New vaccines against infectious diseases are being introduced to the market each year and individual countries therefore often reappraise, adjust and update their vaccination schedules. It?s imperative that they take into consideration present epidemiological situation, both in the countries themselves and in surrounding states, and also the knowledge of trends in infectious diseases occurrence. It?s necessary to update vaccination schedules and to increase the number of vaccines ? be it within periodic vaccinations covered by state, or personally requested vaccinations compensated by insurance companies ?, thus improving vaccination coverage. 5 Attempts at unification are unrealistic. In view of various epidemiological situations, means of individual countries, and attitudes towards vaccination in certain liberal leaning states, it is not possible to dictate vaccine use or vaccination schedules to any country. Considering the scope of the issue, the aim of my thesis isn?t to suggest solutions, but rather to monitor the present circumstances in individual states, find sources of information, and compare the situation in the EU and Czech Republic.

Integration with Outlook Calendar

Nisstany, Saman January 2018 (has links)
This report will be covering further development of the Realtime-Updated Dashboard made by two students for Flex Applications in VT2017. The task now is to integrate the Dashboard with Outlook calendar. A theoretical deepening into the General Data Protection Regulation was made due to recent development in the European Union. This was used to set strict guidelines for design, consent and security of the application.   The application is a back-end service written mostly in C#, however some TypeScript language was used with Angular 2 framework along with LESS and HTML5. The application is developed as a stand-alone project as the Realtime-Updated Dashboard is now live in the system and it would pose a security risk for Flex which was a great opportunity to study and learn more about ASP.NET MVC model along with TypeScript, Angular2, LESS and HTML5. Integrating with Outlook calendar was just the first step, more calendars will be added in time. The main point of the application is to give the Realtime-Updated Dashboard added value and prove/show integration with Outlook calendar was possible.

Mediální ohlas konce mayského kalendáře jako konce světa v roce 2012 / Media response to the end of Maya calendar as the end of the world in 2012

Skřivánková, Adéla January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis aims to find out what was the media image of the end of the Mayan calendar as the supposed end of the world in 2012. A a number of theories, reflections and predictions were made about what would probably happen on December 21, 2012. The apocalyptic predictions of the end of the world appeared most often. Probably due to deeper ignorance of the theme and attractiveness of catastrophic scenarios, the end of the Mayan calendar has become a widespread phenomenon that resonated across society and has become a frequent subject of media stories. The analysis of media content investigated the extent to which the 2012 phenomenon of the selected media was really devoted, what kind of approach to the topic the media took and whether it encouraged fear or uncertainty in society. The thesis provides a sufficient theoretical basis and historical context that the subsequent analysis can then rely on.

Le cerf, le temps et l'espace mythiques / The deer : myths about time and space

Chetcuti, Yves 06 December 2012 (has links)
This thesis proposes a link between the natural history of the red deer, as seen in the writings of naturalists and huntsmen, with the folklore of Western Europe. It is a confrontation of tales that are supposed to be true, since based on observable facts, with purely fictional tales. We have altered the definition of the mytheme developed by Claude Lévi-Strauss, on the basis of narrative terms (T) and their opposite (T-1), and narrative functions (F) and their opposite (F-1). We define the mytheme as being the combination of four possible versions of a tale, the TF version and the contrapositive T-1F-1 version, as well as TF-1 or T-1F variations; like Lévi-Strauss, we consider the myth along with all of its variations. Since actual objects exist independently of the uses and representations that human populations may have of them, mythemes have been formulated concerning the red deer, its place in the environment and the right ways to use its heart, its hide or its antlers to represent the passage of time or man's destiny. We have isolated some twenty mythemes and classified them in increasing order of abstraction, considering that each of them enables a relationship to be forged between narrative terms and functions, or resolves a cognitive dissonance. However, no tale may claim to connect all these mythemes together. Most are only connected in an elliptical manner, since the narration does not provide all the details necessary to establish the plausibility or veracity of the tales. To resolve this issue, we prove the existence, in Breton contemporary religious rites, of a coherent system of cardinal and intermediary directions, based on sunrise and sunset during the solstices. Based on time and direction indications, then time and calendar indications, we restore the dates dedicated to human saints to the red deer, and the positioning of worship sites in relation to one another and the shape of procession routes to the summer solstice. By extrapolation to the upper levels of the scale of space measurements, we recreate three types of ritual itineraries; at the present time, the relationship between the rite and its territorial extent does not enable any presumption regarding the social function of routes on a national or European scale. By extrapolation to the lower levels of the time scale, we recreate the “units” of calendar calculation of less than one day, and in particular the idle heart rate (60 beats / minute in man). A link is established between the time metric, between its rapid rate (heart rate) and slow rate (axial precession), and the space metric, opposing the domestic microcosm and the macrocosm limited by the “sphere of fixed stars”. The social function of the themes related to the lower levels of the measurement scales can then be deduced intuitively: heart, household, etc. A separate interpretation of summer and winter rites is then proposed, based on the mythical tales of insular Celts.

Jornalismo cultural : contribuição à compreensão dessa editoria /

Vianna, Patrícia Piquera. January 2006 (has links)
Abstract: The cultural printed journalism, studied in vehicles of interior of São Paulo state, is the object of this research. In spite of being an attractive theme, there are scarce data that demonstrates aspects of this situation and a tendency in the cultural covering of those vehicles. Starting form the accompaniment, for a period, of the subjects that turned headlines, in eight newspapers of São Paulo state with importance in their regional administrative areas and that had sites in the Internet, from the analysis of one edition, selected in an aleatory way, and from the answers about a questionnaire sent to the publisher, it was possible to develop an idea and to deduce some characteristics that allowed the attainment of the central hypothesis of this study. Anyway, the possibility that the covering of these vehicles was based on the accompaniment of the events' calendar, leaving in second or until third plane polemic and relative matters to the cultural politics. At the end, this discussion is based on journalism theories, as agenda setting and gatekeeper, aspects of people's administration and information about the journalists' professional formation, being recommended that news forms of conduct shoud be adopted. / Mestre

Cognitive load in smartphone calendar applications / Kognitiv belastning i smartphone kalenderapplikationer

Hellqvist, Adrian, Olsson, Tommy January 2018 (has links)
The use of smartphone applications has increased dramatically in the last decade. With the technology being ubiquitous around us it is important to reduce the required cognitive demand for interacting with the technology. A common use of smartphones is calendar applications. This paper investigates if cognitive load can be lowered by using a calendar application specifically designed with cognitive load in mind compared to the widely used Google Calendar. The hypothesis is that the application will generate a lower cognitive load in comparison. An experiment was conducted where participants were instructed to perform a primary task by following given instructions of what to do in the calendar application while also performing a secondary task. There were no significant differences in performance except for two tasks where the new app performed worse. Participants also reported a higher level of frustration for the new app which could mean that their cognitive load was slightly higher.

Desenvolvimento de um aplicativo para o manejo de irrigaÃÃo utilizando a ferramenta âApp inventorâ na plataforma âAndroidâ / Development of an application for the management of irrigation using the " App Inventor " tool " Android " platform

OdÃlio Coimbra Rocha JÃnior 14 December 2015 (has links)
The lack of a proper irrigation management by the majority of producers in irrigated public areas in the state of Cearà is considered the main factor with direct influence on productivity, cost of production, quality of products, and especially in the environmental issue, where the inappropriate use of water from our springs could seriously compromise our future generations. The initiative in the development of tools to assist the producer to carry out a satisfactory irrigation management that is accessible and of easy operation is a goal that should always be set as a priority. This work aims to develop an application for mobile devices, able to use its own database in the realization of the daily irrigation time calculation for each crop on a certain date. Techniques and software development tools were used specificly for the Android mobile platform. The application intends to assist in conducting a management with rational use of water in irrigated areas in the state of CearÃ, semi-arid northeast, mitigating the lack of technical assistance specialized in precision farming, using databases with information necessary for the calculation of the need water and subsequent irrigation time recommendation. Among the installed databases, it has historical series of "potential reference evapotranspiration" for the past ten years in representative regions where the eight main irrigation schemes of the Cearà state: Curu-Paraipaba, Pentecostes, Baixo AcaraÃ, Araras Norte, Jaguaribe Apodi, Morada Nova, Tabuleiros de Russas e IcÃ-Lima Campos are located and also databases with information on the "crop coefficient" and "coverage percentage" of major crops exploited on the perimeters. This application was developed to present a new approach to irrigation management, making use of the available mobile phones in order to allow users to perform the calculation of the daily irrigation time in any of the irrigated perimeters of the Cearà state. The use of the application in simulation for the Irrigated Perimeter Baixo Acaraà demonstrated a reduction of approximately 26% over the current use of water in irrigation, allowing its use be concluded that provides good irrigation management and could result in an economy of water required to reduce the impact of recurring long and repetitive periods of drought on water resources of the state of CearÃ.

Abstract: The aim of this research was to analyse the effects of the implementation "The Calendar and the Measure of the Time" Project in 5th grade of an Elementary public school in Santa Barbara Do Oeste - São Paulo. The theme of this research were linked to the contents of Science taught in this grade, and aimed the integration with other areas. This work is justified by the evidence that science teaching has been marked by knowledge fragmentation and lack of contextualization. The main question was how the Project implementation could improve the integration of the contents and the cognitive development of the students in the early years of the Elementary school. During the year three basic activities were done by the students (individually or in groups). These activities were complemented with readings of different texts, systematizations in groups, interviews with people from the town and notebooks with students' memories. This research had experimental basis, without a control group; data were collected in the classroom with adjustments in the direction of the proposal. Changing in learning and behavior of students involved were observed. The results indicated that project implementation helped students to develop a full knowledge that aims reciprocity and interaction between curriculum areas involved. The students presented changes in thinking, built knowledge individually and collectively on the topics covered, and interacted with other students, teachers and school employees, as well as their parents, relatives and people in their neighborhood. The activities and the "Calendar Project" were quite suitable as a working mechanism in the early years of elementary school in multidisciplinary perspective and collective construction of knowledge. / Mestrado / Ensino e Práticas Culturais / Mestre em Educação
