In this way, it constituted general objective of that work to understand the social action that occurs by means of distinct producers agents of the space, from a vision that privileges the environmental perception of those agents, worked taking as base substantiations brought from Yi Fu TUAN, on the principle that when you apprehend the form in which everyone perceives his environment, iti is possible to acknowledge the causes and consequences of all the process of apropriation and output of the space. The site to be studied was Canoa Quebrada, urban nucleus of the town of Aracati, one of the most famous tourist destination of the State, that experienced in the last 20 years deep arising from environmental, urban, and social transformations from the artificial valorization from the land created by the tourist activity, reflecting in a disorderly occupation of soil and predatory of the landscape. Through interviews and observations in field, sought to capture the inter-relations of these agents with the environment and between itself. The research permitted apprehend that the experiences, the feelings, the ideas, the objectives of each group defined to theirs interaction with Canoa Quebrada and, they generate consequences, sometimes, that is ignored completely and that affect the quality of life of several generations. It was possible to discover, then, that Canoa Quebrada is an abstract, a tourist and a fragmented space (LEFEBVRE) to some kinds of visitors, land´s holders, foreigners residents and to the State, but also is space lived and perceived, and, fundamentally, place, for majority of the natives and of non native brazilians residents having in mind to attribute to Canoa the meaning and value. To the peculiar ways of experimenting and interpreting Canoa Quebrada, therefore, in harmony with the spatial practices of each agent producer of their space. / A temática abordada recaiu sobre a tentativa de se avaliar as questões em torno da relação homem x natureza buscando-se compreender os processos que envolvem a produção dos espaços em que a natureza é urbanizada. Desta forma, constitui objetivo geral desse trabalho compreender a ação social que ocorre mediante agentes produtores do espaço distintos, a partir de uma visão que privilegia a percepção ambiental desses agentes, trabalhada tomandose como base fundamentações trazidas de Yi-Fu TUAN, partindo-se do pressuposto que ao se apreender a forma com que cada um percebe seu meio, pode-se interpretar com mais segurança as causas e conseqüências de todo o processo de apropriação e produção do espaço. Como recorte espacial, estudou-se Canoa Quebrada, núcleo urbano do município de Aracati, um dos destinos turísticos mais famosos do Estado, que experimentou nos últimos 20 anos profundas transformações sociais, urbanas e ambientais oriundas da valorização artificial da terra fomentada pela atividade turística, refletindo-se numa ocupação desordenada do solo e predatória da paisagem. Através de entrevistas e observações em campo, buscou-se captar as inter-relações destes agentes com o meio e entre si. A pesquisa permitiu apreender que as experiências, as sensações, as idéias, os objetivos de cada grupo definem a sua interação com Canoa Quebrada e, geram conseqüências, às vezes, que se ignora por completo e que afetam a qualidade de vida de várias gerações. Foi possível aferir, então, que Canoa Quebrada é um espaço turístico, abstrato e fragmentado (LEFEBVRE) para alguns tipos de turistas, proprietários fundiários, moradores estrangeiros e Estado, mas também é espaço vivido e percebido, e, fundamentalmente, lugar, para grande parte dos nativos e de moradores não nativos brasileiros tendo em vista que atribuem ao espaço de Canoa significado e valor. Assim, às diferentes maneiras de experenciar e interpretar Canoa Quebrada, correspondem as práticas espaciais distintas de cada agente produtor de seu espaço.

A escolha do objeto investigativo deveu-se ao questionamento dos nativos sobre as mudanças nas redes socioculturais que exigiram a reorganização do espaço geográfico e, em especial, do espaço sociocultural de Canoa Quebrada. No referencial teórico se destacam vários autores e estudos da Geografia e do Turismo, dentre eles, o geógrafo, Milton Santos e, na área do turismo, Rita de Cássia Cruz, além de outros estudiosos que contribuíram com a construção da base teórica desta tese de doutorado. Foi realizada uma pesquisa empírica, que se desenvolveu mediante a aplicação de entrevistas e observações no espaço físico natural, socioeconômico e cultural, com a população da Vila do Estevão. A pesquisa atingiu o objetivo, pois se percebeu um processo de mudanças ocorridas em Canoa Quebrada, desde que esta área se transformou em um espaço turístico. Os próprios moradores destacaram diversos problemas desencadeados, no lugar, além de outros que não estão associados ao turismo. A população do Estevão, mediante essa realidade, apontou sugestões para minimizar os principais problemas desencadeados e melhorar a vida da população de Canoa Quebrada e da própria Vila / This thesis deals with tourism in Canoa Quebrada: in order to analyze the dynamics of tourism in Canoa Quebrada and the preservation of culture in the town Vila do Estevão. Possible changes and socioeconomic and cultural transformations, resulting in a network of economic interests, who settled in this place. The choice of the object due to the investigative questioning the natives about the changes in the socio-cultural networks that required the reorganization of the geographic space and in particular the sociocultural space of Canoa Quebrada. In theoretical stand several authors and studies of Geography and Tourism, among them, the geographer Milton Santos and in tourism, Rita Cruz, and other scholars who contributed to the construction of the theoretical basis of this thesis doctorate. We also carried out an empirical research that has developed through the application of interviews and observations in space natural, socioeconomic and cultural, with the population of the Vila do Estevão. The survey reached the goal, since it was realized a process of changes in Canoa Quebrada, since this area became a space tourist. The residents themselves have realized several problems triggered, in place, and others that are not associated with tourism. The population of Stephen, by this fact, pointed suggestions to minimize the main problems triggered and improve the lives of people of Canoa Quebrada and the village itself

Partindo do questionamento de como se estrutura essa rede e quais as transformações geográficas e socioeconômicas decorrentes do desenvolvimento do turismo na área do objeto de estudo, identificamos os elementos ou nós da rede local e as relações constituídas a partir desse choque de modernidade. O município de Aracati, localizado no litoral leste do estado do Ceará, é um dos 65 destinos turísticos indutores do desenvolvimento, segundo o Ministério do Turismo, sendo uma das rotas cearenses mais visitadas, e foi estudado a partir de uma abordagem interdisciplinar entre a geografia e o turismo. A tese, defendida neste trabalho, é que sendo Aracati um município dominado por atividades arcaicas, resistente ao choque de modernidade até aproximadamente os anos 1970, a ressignificação da Praia de Canoa Quebrada e a estruturação de uma rede de serviços turísticos, agindo de modo concomitante, estimularam um relativo desenvolvimento local ao trazer novos fluxos, de turistas e de capital, consequentemente acarretando inúmeros efeitos socioespaciais, entre eles a criação de novas articulações de Aracati/Canoa Quebrada com o Brasil e com o mundo. Para a análise da tese proposta, aplicamos 91 formulários com os prestadores de serviços turísticos em uma amostra censitária, participamos de reuniões das instâncias de governança local e passamos a vive... (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: This thesis aims at analyzing the structure as well as the dynamics concerning the network of tourism services provided in Aracati/Canoa Quebrada - CE between 1970 and 2014. The starting point was the inquiry about how this network is structured and what geographical and socioeconomic transformations are taking place due to the development of tourism in the area which is the object of our study. We identified the elements or links as for the local network and their corresponding relations based on the shock of modernity. The city of Aracati, which is located in the East coast of Ceará State, is one of the 65 inductor destinations of tourism and one of the most visited in Ceará, according to the Ministry of Tourism. This study was carried out adopting an interdisciplinary approach which integrates geography and tourism. The thesis defended in this work states that Aracati is a city dominated by archaic activities and remained resistant to the shock of modernity until the 1970s. The new significance of Canoa Quebrada Beach and the structure of a network of touristic services acting simultaneously stimulated a certain local development when promoting a new flow of tourists and capital, consequently bringing along many socio-spatial effects such as the creation of new links among Aracati/Canoa Quebrada, Brazil, and the world.
