Automated Technique For Comparison Of Magnetic Field Inversion Lines With Filament Skeletons From The Solar Feature Catalogue.

Ipson, Stanley S., Zharkova, Valentina V., Zharkov, Sergei I., Benkhalil, Ali K., Aboudarham, J., Fuller, N. January 2005 (has links)
No / We present an automated technique for comparison of magnetic field inversion-line maps from SOHO/MDI magnetograms with solar filament data from the Solar Feature Catalogue created as part of the European Grid of Solar Observations project. The Euclidean distance transform and connected component labelling are used to identify nearest inversion lines to filament skeletons. Several filament inversion-line characteristics are defined and used to automate the decision whether a particular filament/inversion-line pair is suitable for quantitative comparison of orientation and separation. The technique is tested on 551 filaments from 14 H¿ images at various dates, and the distributions of angles and distances between filament skeletons and line-of-sight (LOS) magnetic inversion lines are presented for six levels of magnetic field smoothing. The results showed the robustness of the developed technique which can be applied for a statistical analysis of magnetic field in the vicinity of filaments. The method accuracy is limited by the static filament detection which does not distinguish between filaments, fibrils, pre-condensations and filament barbs and this may increase the asymmetries in magnetic distributions and broadening in angular distributions that requires the incorporation of a feature tracking technique.

Instruments of Memory: The Architect as Archivist

Smith, Liam Arthur 03 February 2014 (has links)
The mental space in which the architect formulates, tests, and cultivates an idea is deformed by memory, so that nothing projected into this space is bereft of association. However, neither is this space constrained by physical reality, allowing the architect a certain freedom to visualize the totality of an object and the world in which it is projected, simultaneously and in suspension: a space between memory and imagination. Memories and experiences layer richness upon this inner world and form the context for its manifestation; its realization. The deliberate and conscientious curation of this inner world-- the architect as archivist of memory and experience-- is an essential practice for the development of the architect and the worlds in which they operate. / Master of Architecture

Auguste Couder, peintre d’histoire (1790-1873). Catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre / Auguste Couder, a historical painter (1790-1873). Descriptive catalogue of his works

Walkowska-Boiteux, Joanna 03 June 2010 (has links)
Auguste Couder, a historical painter active from the outset of the French Restauration to the Second Empire, a member of the Académie des beaux-arts (Academy of Fine Arts) and an Officer of the Legion of Honour, is a true representative of a whole generation of painters who were recognised as such during their lifetime but forgotten afterwards. Little known today, his works, abundant and varied, well deserve to be rediscovered. As a loyal student of David whose teaching greatly influenced him, Couder stood out as an excellent drawer but was nevertheless much interested in colours. He was commissioned numerous orders, from official and private sources, for paintings of a historical nature – both ancient and national – and inspired by religion and literature. A prolific artist, he participated regularly in the Salon held between 1814 and 1848 ; he also took part in several decorative works for official and religious edifices. Yet, his works have never been the subject of any study. The object of the present thesis is to remedy this situation by reviewing his whole career as well as drawing up, for the first time, a full descriptive catalogue of his works. This catalogue, which comprises some 400 paintings and drawings – several of which are unpublished, highlights the rich creation of Couder, reinstating him in the history of the 19th century arts.

Les airs de Sébastien et Charles Le Camus (1653-1708) : catalogue, édition, analyse et interprétation / The airs of Sébastien and Charles Le Camus (1653-1708) : catalogue, edition, analysis and interpretation

Vittu, Mathilde 15 February 2018 (has links)
The main goal of this study is to unveil the work of Sébastien Le Camus († 1677), behind whose name one also finds that of his son, Charles Le Camus († 1717), himself a composer. A collection of the father’s 32 known airs was published posthumously in 1678 upon the son’s initiative. By means of a metaphor, where that collection is at the centre of a circle, we navigate on the circle’s periphery through the set of written sources that allowed for diffusion of the genre of the French air, both secular and sacred, in the second half of the 17th century and at the beginning of the 18th century: The collections of airs and song-texts published by Ballard, the manuscripts kept in France and abroad, a novel – Clélie by Madeleine de Scudéry – and a periodical, the Mercure galant. The 211 airs by Sébastien and Charles Le Camus collected to date, extracted from those sources, are now gathered in a catalogue (vol.3) and in a modern music edition (vol.4). The miniature dynasty leads to explore the « score » as an object as well as the notion of author, first questioned and then set at the core of our study (vol.1 and 2). By subtle handling of that flexible notion, we offer to musicians and musicologists an analysis of both the airs’ creation context and the music material itself. This analysis, based on a constant dialogue between the theory and the practice of our authors’ time, leads to viewing the air as a dynamic genre whose life depends on its success within social milieus as much as on its ability to be composed, decomposed and recomposed according to the requirements of its performance context.

Automatická publikace metadat a dat pro mapové a katalogové systémy z rastrových podkladů v PostgreSQL / Automatic publication of data and metadata for map and catalogue systems from raster sources in PostgreSQL

Hettler, Jakub January 2012 (has links)
Automatic publication of data and metadata for map and catalogue systems from raster sources in PostgreSQL Abstract The main goal of the presented work is the design and implementation of the application for the automatic publication of the raster data and metadata from the PostgreSQL database to the map and catalog services. The application should exclusively utilize the open source software and technologies. The fundamental component of the developed application is the PostgreSQL database with the PostGIS and PostGIS raster extensions. The presented work evaluates the possibilities of the raster storage from different points of view -e.g. the suitability for the further data processing or the publication of the raster data. The most suitable structure for raster storage is then proposed with respect to analytical and publication usage of the stored data. The possibilities of the open source software for the solution and implementation of the presented problem are then inspected. The GeoNetwork and GeoServer are utilized as a metadata and map server solution. The results of the deployment of these technologies is then evaluated for the real world data and compared with other available related solutions. Keywords: PostGIS, PostGIS raster, GeoServer, GeoNetwork opensource, metadata, web map services, OGC,...

Prando, Flavia Rejane 02 April 2008 (has links)
O objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar, recuperar e contextualizar a produção do compositor carioca dentro do panorama do violão popular brasileiro. / This study focuses on the work of guitarist Othon Salleiro (1910- 1999). The purpose of this study is to analyze, recover and provide context for the work produced by the composer from Rio de Janeiro within the scenario of Brazilian popular guitar music. By examining his work, transcribing available recordings and doing a comparative analysis of composer guitarists of the same period we tried to outline the composing and instrumental identity of Othon Salleiro. We remind you that his work is exclusively for solo guitar. In addition to cataloguing the music found, making sheet music was our contribution to recover and make known the work of this important Brazilian popular guitar composer.
