This dissertation was developed within the scope of the Professional Master in Management and Evaluation of Education (PPGP) of the Center for Public Policies and Education Evaluation of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (CAEd / UFJF). The management case presented was aimed at analyzing the production of the didactic material production sector of the UFJF Distance Education Center (Cead / UFJF). The teaching materials have an important role in distance education, as it supports the relationship between the teacher and the student, and their production is foreseen in the pedagogical political projects of the courses. In this study, we tryed to identify if the teaching materials production sector could absorb a greater production demand and how it could encourage the coordinators and teachers of the institution to use these resources. In this sense, the question that guides this dissertation is: "In what way can Cead potentialize the production of didactic material for distance education?". The hypothesis defended here is that Cead and the support provided to the courses are little known and that teachers are not encouraged to produce materials, which impacts the demand for production of materials. Our general objective was to identify obstacles in support of the production of didactic material of the courses offered through Cead. Solutions have been proposed so that the team involved can combine efforts to optimize the use of the infrastructure available for the production of materials for the benefit of distance and face-to-face education. We started with specific objectives, which were: i) to describe the operation of Cead, especially the material production sector and to identify if there is a low production demand; ii) analyze the reasons for the low demand for production of didactic material by the sector; iii) propose solutions so that Cead can optimize the use of available infrastructure to produce materials, as well as human resources, favoring distance education or even face-to-face. In order to do this, we used qualitative research methodology and instruments as interviews with the managers of Cead, as well as questionnaires sent to professors of the UFJF distance courses. As a theoretical reference, we used the analyzes of Valente and Moran (2011), which address the use of information technologies in education and possibilities in the management of distance education; Maia and Mattar (2007), which characterize the technologies used in education; and Belloni (2012), Moore and Kearsley (2013) who analyze the management in distance education. For some results of the research, we conclude that there is a lack of specific qualification for distance education among the teachers and that the sector of production of didactic materials of the Cead is not widely known by the teachers, which leads to a low demand of the services in the organ. The teachers' lack of time was another reason. In order to optimize the production of materials, we have brought the following intervention proposals: i) dissemination of the material production sector; (ii) offers of new production possibilities; iii) training for the production of didactic materials.

Gascon-Detuncq, Camille 12 1900 (has links)
The influence of the Centre des auteurs dramatiques (CEAD) on the emergence and future of Quebec and French-Canadian theatre is undeniable. However, its trajectory, as well as its action, have not yet been the subject of an in-depth study. This thesis therefore proposes, based on a detailed analysis of the CEAD archives themselves, a first historical study of its first fifteen years of existence, from 1965, the year it was founded, to 1980. We first try to identify the particular context from which the organization was created in order to reveal its uniqueness and to understand how the founders, who are all playwrights, reflected on their place in the theatre community. We then propose an analysis of the trajectory of the CEAD during the short but turbulent period from 1968 to 1980, when the organization, with more corporatist than political aims, had to deal with the dazzling emergence of the committed theatre and the movement of collective creation, rejecting in particular the figure of the dramatic author. This thesis is intended as a contribution to historical research on theatre in Quebec.

Is there evidence that high velocity manipulation of the cervical spine can cause stroke?

Eriksson, Andreas January 2020 (has links)
High Velocity Manipulation of the cervical spine is a manual treatment technique against pain in foremost the neck, shoulders. The technique has according to multiple sources been connected to the risk of injury to the blood vessels that supply the brain with blood, with among others stroke as a consequence.  Other sources have on the other hand shown it the technique to be safe to perform. This literature study has compiled and evaluated research that in various ways tries to find out if said connection is causal The method used was to evaluate articles through a pre-made form from SBU, and then to sort them according to relevance to see if the connection is causal or not. The result showed that the question is too complex to be answered in a single study, and that more research is needed to answer the question in full. This is due to the fact that there are multiple mechanisms behinds this form om injury, that the risk seems to exists in certain groups, and that some of these are not yet identifiable. On the other hand there is a high probability that the technique might act as an activating factor in these groups. Because of this there can be said that a risk exists with the technique in practice, no matter if there is a casual connection between the technique and stroke in itself or not.
