O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a ação das personagens machadianas que buscam a "nomeada." Partimos do pressuposto de que na busca da glória, as personagens tentam construir uma imagem social vencedora. Por meio do elemento temático identificamos as relações intertextuais estabelecidas entre o romance Memórias póstumas de Brás Cubas e as outras narrativas que constituem o corpus desta pesquisa, a saber: "O alienista, "O segredo do bonzo", "A sereníssima República," "Conto alexandrino," "Cantigas de esponsais," "Um homem célebre" e "Teoria do medalhão". A seleção das narrativas literárias foi baseada nas semelhanças das estratégias empregadas pelas personagens para alcançar a fama. Para realização desta proposta utilizamos noções básicas inerentes ao tema e à crítica temática. Abordamos os princípios teóricos referentes à intertextualidade que apoiaram as análises literárias desenvolvidas nesta pesquisa. Por fim, foram estudadas as concepções de personagem e narrador como elementos da narrativa ficcional. / Abstract: The "thirst for fame" or the " love of glory " is a recurrent theme in the work of Machado de Assis. The objective of this thesis is to analyze the action of the Machadian characters in that search for fame. We presume that in the search for glory, the characters try to build a winning social image. Through the thematic element we have identified the intertextual relationships established between Memórias póstumas de Brás Cubas [Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas, often subtitled as The Epitaph of a Small Winner] and the other narratives that constitute the corpus of this research: "O alienista, "O segredo do bonzo ", "A sereníssima República," Conto alexandrino," "Cantigas de esponsais", "Um homem célebre" and "Teoria do medalhão". The selection of the literary narratives was based on the similarity of the strategies used by the characters in order to reach fame. For accomplishment of this proposal we have used basic notions related to theme and to thematic criticism. We approached the theoretical principles related to intertextuality that supported the literary analyses developed in this research. Finally, conceptions of character and narrator were studied as elements of the fictional narrative. / Doutor

Orientador: Martha Herr / Banca: Mirna Rubin / Banca: Káthya Ayres de Godoy / Resumo: Tendo em vista a exigência do cantor de ópera atual possuir não somente uma excelente técnica vocal e musical, mas também uma competente desenvoltura cênica, e, levando em consideração que estas habilidades cênicas são desenvolvidas pelo cantor na maioria das vezes de forma autodidata, este trabalho tem como objetivo pesquisar conhecimentos que possam auxiliar no desenvolvimento destas habilidades por jovens cantores que careçam de orientação nesta área ao ingressarem no mercado de trabalho. Esta pesquisa baseia-se principalmente em teóricos que já abordaram a questão específica da atuação cênica do cantor de ópera. / Abstract: Considering the demands presently made upon the opera singer to have not only an excellent vocal and musical technique, but also a competent capacity scenically, and taking into account that these scenic abilities are usually self-taught, the objective here is to research theoretical tools that will aid the young singer entering the job market and who lacks orientation in this area to develop these abilities. Research is based on works that approach the specific subject of the opera singer' scenic performance. / Mestre

R. R. Tolkien. Esse romance possui um tom fantástico, e é parte de uma mitologia criada por seu autor; as personagens possuem características que vão do humano ao divino, e a maioria delas é formada por homens predominantemente heróicos. O presente trabalho é focado nas personagens femininas da obra, e através da análise de suas descrições físicas e psicológicas, ações, características, enfim, de suas construções, objetiva determinar o modo de representação do autor, chegando-se, assim, a uma reflexão acerca da importância destas personagens na mitologia tolkieniana, à qual The Silmarillion serve como ponto inicial. Faz-se necessário, também, desvendar a influência de fatores políticos, sociais e históricos na criação e desenvolvimento destas personagens. A obra estudada relata os fatos que servem como fundo mítico à criação do mundo no qual se passa, a Terra-média. São contados os acontecimentos que deram origem a tudo, seres e ambientes, sentimentos, o Mal e sua eterna luta contra o Bem pelo poder. Pretendemos realizar este intento com o auxílio de teorias diversas, em especial a linha feminista da crítica literária que se ocupa do papel da mulher como leitora de textos de autoria masculina, como é o caso. Esperamos, também, contribuir com o crescente interesse pela obra do autor inglês, deixado à margem do cânone pela crítica especializada, para que assim se possa reconhecer a importância de sua obra em seu tempo, e também a de suas personagens femininas. / Abstract: This dissertation intends to analyse the female characterization in the novel The Silmarillion, written by J. R. R. Tolkien. This novel has a fantastic tone, and it is part of a mythology created by its author; the characters have features that go from human to divine, and most of them are formed by men that act as heroes. The present study focuses on the female characters of the novel, and through the analysis of their physical and psychological descriptions, actions, features, in short, their constructions, it intends to determine the author's way of representation; so, it will be possible to reach a reflection about the importance of these characters in the Tolkienian mythology, to which The Silmarillion figures as the initial point. It is also necessary to unmask the influence of political, social and historical factors on the creation and development of these characters. The novel gives an account on the facts that figure as a mythical background to the world where it is placed, Middle-earth. The events that were the origin to everything, beings and places, feelings, Evil and its eternal fight against Good for power, are told. We intend to achieve this goal with the support of many theories, especially the feminist trend of literary criticism that deals with the role of woman as a reader of texts written by men, as it is the case. We also wish to contribute to the growing interest on the works of the English author, who was left at the edge of the canon by the specialized critics, so that it is possible to recognize the importance of his work at his time, and also the importance of his female characters. / Mestre

Da primeira forma, utilizando a teoria algébrica dos números clássica vimos como calcular o discriminante dos corpos quadráticos e corpos ciclotômicos. Através desta teoria é possível calcular o discriminante somente desses corpos com um árduo trabalho. Da segunda maneira utilizando os caracteres de Dirichlet e seus condutores vimos o cálculo do discriminante para qualquer corpo abeliano de uma maneira não muito trabalhosa. Finalmente, utilizando esses resultados damos aplicações sobre reticulados algébricos. / Abstract: The aim of this work is to make a parallel between two forms of computing discriminants of fields of numbers. In the first form, by classic algebraic number theory we computed the discriminant of quadratics fields and ciclotomic fields. Through of this theory, is possible to computing the discriminant alone of this fields with a arduous work. In the second form using Dirichlet's character and their conductors we computed the discriminant of any abelian field of a form not very hard. Finally, using this results we give applications on algebraic lattices. / Mestre

Parente próximo do pícaro espanhol, e ligado ao conceito de herói problemático de Lukács/Goldman, o gauche vive com intensidade o conflito entre sujeito e objeto, e representa a resultante ficcional de todas as características de displaced person do homem moderno. Sob a luz da semiótica da Escola de Paris, o presente trabalho busca analisar a filiação do personagem Benjamim Zambraia, do romance Benjamim, de Chico Buarque, a uma tradição de gauches literários, contribuindo para a ampliação da fortuna crítica relativa ao autor brasileiro e para a definição do conceito de gauchisme em literatura. Para tanto, empreende-se a análise dos diversos níveis e elementos que compõem o percurso gerativo de sentido, com especial atenção para o contrato enunciativo, os mecanismos de breagem, o percurso dos sujeitos, as modalizações e as oposições fundamentais / Abstract: The gauche character was born in the modern novel and take its place as the protagonist of important literary works since the sixteenth century. Close related to the Spanish pícaro and connected to the concept of the ―problematic hero‖ from Lukács/Goldman, the gauche lives intensely the conflict between the subject and the object, and represents the resultant in the fiction of all characteristics of a displaced person in a modern men. Under the lights of the French semiotics line, the present work seeks to analyze the connection between the character Benjamin Zambraia, from the romance Benjamin, of Chico Buarque, and a tradition of literary gauches, contributing to the enhancement of the rich review content about the Brazilian author and to a more accurate definition of the concept gauchisme in the literature. For this goal, it's used the analysis of several different levels and elements that compose the gerative course of sense, with special attention to the enunciative contract, the shifters mechanisms, the actant-subject course, the value modalitties and the oppositions of the fundamental level / Mestre

Essa obra constitui-se, ao mesmo tempo, em fonte e objeto desta pesquisa. Neste estudo, parte-se da hipótese de que essa coleção possui um sentido político e configura-se em produção material que constrói uma representação simbólica das características nacionais espanholas, elaborando um discurso sobre si, perceptível no conjunto de sua concepção, produção e composição. Foi produzida na segunda metade dos oitocentos, sob a raiz do movimento romântico e moldada pela estética costumbrista - gênero que se destacou por descrever tipos sociais, hábitos, costumes e tradições. Sobre a temática feminina, partiu-se do pressuposto de que imagens idealizadas de mulheres foram utilizadas para tocar os imaginários sociais pelo que representavam - amor, submissão, honra, fecundidade, educação, abnegação - e também como símbolos dos novos tipos sociais que surgiam em cena nos espaços nacionais que se configuravam perante as transformações européias. O hispanismo, discurso ideológico pautado nas experiências comuns e espírito espanhol, permeou toda a coleção, e este trabalho sustenta a hipótese de que não só referendou, mas construiu e disseminou esse ideário. Por fim, defendeu-se que tanto a linguagem textual como a iconográfica localizaram e salientaram elementos formadores das sociedades espanholas, revelando origens, tradição, peculiaridades e singularidades desses povos - sob o signo feminino - que remetiam à problemática do caráter nacional espanhol. / Abstract: This proposition tries to disclose on the collection Las Mujeres Españolas, Portuguesas y Americanas, a publication composed by three tomes of texts which discuss the territorial spaces in Spain, America and Portugal and by lithographs - separately sold -, produced in Spain during the 1870 decade, using the feminine symbology to represent those spaces. This work consists of, at the same time, origin and object of this research. This treatise starts with the hypothesis that this collection has a political meaning and happens to have a material production which builds a symbolical representation of the Spanish national characteristics, elaborating a "self-speech" about itself, perceptible on the entirety of its conception, production and composition. It was introduced on the second half of the XVIII century, under the roots of the Romanticism and molded by the costumbrista esthetics - gender that distinguished itself by describing the social models, habits, uses and traditions. From the feminine themes, the treatise starts from the pretext that the use of idealized images of women were used to reach the social imaginary of what they represented - love, submission, honor, fecundity, education, self-denial - and also as symbols of the new social types that emerged in the national spaces that appeared in the face of the European transformations. The hispanism, ideological speech based on the common experiences and on the Spanish spirits, pierced all the collection, and this treatise supports the hypothesis that it not only countersigned, but built and spread this ideas. And, last but not least, defended that both textual language and iconography placed and emphasized the elements which built the Spanish societies, revealing origins, tradition, peculiarities and singularities of this people - under the feminine sign- that alluded to the a set of problems of the Spanish national character. / Doutor

Orientador: Cleide Antonia Rapucci / Banca: Altamir Botoso / Banca: Antônio Roberto Esteves / Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho é demarcar o espaço da escritora Nélida Piñon na literatura de autoria feminina, refletindo sobre as vias de acesso que se abriram quando ela retomou uma das personagens mais conhecidas e míticas da história da Literatura Universal, Scherezade, no romance Vozes do deserto (2004). Este estudo permitiu que se realizasse uma reflexão mais acurada sobre a construção desta personagem a partir da perspectiva da critica feminista (SHOWALTER, 1994) e que se revelasse a condição feminina em um sistema hegemônico, coercivo e patriarcal que legitima as situações de poder, submissão, opressão e violência em relação às mulheres. Sendo assim, este trabalho é um convite para que se conheça a contribuição de Nélida Piñon à luz da evolução contemporânea e da emancipação consciente das mulheres que ousaram transgredir os limites do tempo e espaço em prol de sua visibilidade, independência, liberdade e reconhecimento como sujeito da história. Esses aspectos permitem contemplar as três fases: feminina, feminista e mulher, da literatura de autoria feminina estabelecidas por Elaine Showalter. Apesar de esta obra de Nélida Piñon ser ainda pouco estudada pela crítica brasileira, ela é importante também para os estudos da ginocrítica devido ao discurso crítico especializado sobre os textos produzidos por mulheres. Esta dissertação pretende valorizar o ser mulher que protagoniza não somente a história, mas a ascensão do seu próprio destino no mundo. Em conclusão, a escritora é nome de relevo para o universo literário brasileiro, sendo uma profunda conhecedora da história das mulheres e, portanto, atenta e comprometida com o atual cenário sócio-político cultural brasileiro / Abstract: The genesis of this work is to demarcate the area of the writer Nélida Piñon in the female authorship literature reflecting about the access roads that were opened when the author retook one of the most well-known and mythical character of the Universal Literature - Scherezade - in the novel Voices of the Desert (2004). So, this study allowed to realize a more accurate reflection about this character's construction from the perspective of feminist criticism (SHOWALTER, 1994) bringing out the feminine condition in a hegemonic system, coercity and patriarchal that legitimizes the power situations, submission, oppression and violence against women. Therefore, this work is an invitation to know Nélida Piñon's contribution in contemporary evolution and women's emancipation awareness who dared to transgress the boundaries of time and space to promote their visibility, independence, freedom and recognition as a subject of the history. These aspects allow to gaze on the three phases: feminine, feminist and female of the Women's literature established by Elaine Showalter. Although this novel has been little researched by Brazilian criticism yet, it is also important to the gynocritical studies because the gynocriticism speech is a critical and specialized speech about texts written by women. So, this dissertation intends to enhance (value) the female who stars not only the history but makes possible the rise of her own destiny in the world. To conclude, the writer is outstanding name for the Brazilian Literary Universe and she demonstrates a deep knowledge about women's history and, therefore, attentive and compromised with the current social political and cultural Brazilian scenery / Mestre
