Method for determining phasedistribution and characteristic lenghts in cBN-composite materials.

Gunneriusson, Olof January 2013 (has links)
An image analysis method has been developed for Sandvik to determine phasecompositions and characteristic length of the binding phase in cubic Boron Nitride(cBN)-composites with low contents of cBN (35-75%).The method consists of taking pictures with a Scanning Electron Microscope, gathering elemental data with X-ray Diffraction (XRD) as well as Energy-dispersiveX-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) and finally using a Matlab program developed for this workto calculate phase compositions and statistical data from the characteristic length ofthe binding phase.Using these methods four different phases were identified in the samples: Blackparticles, most likely made of cBN. A dark gray phase around the black particles, thatconsists of Al-compounds. A light grey binding phase, consisting of TiN or Ti(C,N).Finally there were small traces of white particles which were identified as a product ofabrasive action on cermet milling bodies added during the milling.Mean value, standard deviation and median of the characteristic length of the bindingphase was calculated. For all samples the median value was consistent, sometimeseven being identical for the analyzed sites. This indicates that the binding phase wasevenly distributed across almost all samples.

Modelización de sistemas de refrigeración por absorción con captadores solares de concentración

Montero Izquierdo, Iván Andrés 04 September 2012 (has links)
This thesis presents a detailed analysis of solar cooling systems, with double-effect absorption chillers activated by concentrating solar collectors, in terms of primary energy savings. This analysis allows comparing this type of systems with solar assisted air-conditioning installations composed by single-effect absorption chillers and flat plate solar collectors, and conventional compression systems. These three types of systems have been modeled in a TRNSYS simulation environment and applied to a generic building located in the city of Seville (Spain) to cover its cooling demand. An important aspect of this thesis is the modeling of single and double-effect absorption chillers by means of the characteristic equation method (ChEM). This method permits modeling of thermal performance of the absorption machine in a simple and robust manner, and due to its structure, the method can be applied to any absorption refrigeration system.

The entrepreneurial essence of characteristic B&B in Kenting

Lin, Pei-li 28 August 2010 (has links)
The essence of the paper is the characteristic of Bed & Breakfast (B&B) in Kenting, analyzing the pioneer¡¦s story and its successful condition thoroughly. To start an enterprise is a process to revise the interaction between individual and the environment. The pioneers are not satisfied with the mode of life, so they expect to pursue the ideal life by starting an enterprise. Economy used to be one of the major reason but not anymore. Therefore, starting an enterprise is the way to pursue the dreamland. Everyone has his dream, and it will affect the operation of the B&B. The commercial operation, the emotional operation, or humanities concern etc, all create an unique life style and operation. Not only the poineer¡¦s life has being changed, but the new features of Kenting was formed because of the blossom on the B&B. In order to combine the industry with the local environment and features, B&B becomes an extended knowledge of local. In recent years, the Internet was limitless, people can use the Blog and guestbook to update the information about the hostel anytime, share their traveling experience, and set up a platform for communication. Its high instantaneity and geniality promote the marketing efficiency. Analyzing the characteristic of B&B in Kenting, we will detect the enterprise filled with the essence of creating survival esthetics. Facing the dilemma of the previous environment, the pioneer creates the ideal life style with the positive attitude, finding the way to solve the difficulty actively. Whether the personal thought, life style, or the adaption to the environment, were all showing their originality and enthusiasm and conduct ¡§strategic creation¡¨. Foucault¡¦s survival esthetics explains the spirit of the pioneer and the change B&B brings about, the mode of the enterprise also shows the poineer¡¦s unique life style.

A Study of Robert Schumann¡qWaldszenen, op.82¡r

Tsai, Shu-Fei 13 February 2012 (has links)
Robert Schumann is one of the greatest representatives of Germany Romanticism music in the early nineteenth century. As a composer, he had written many types of works, including piano music, vocal music, symphony, concerto and chamber music; Schumann was also a music critic. He frequently published his personal viewpoints and commentaries on music with different pseudonyms in Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, a magazine founded by himself. Piano music plays a vital role in Schumann¡¦s music creation. To Schumann, it is literature that inspires his creativity. Therefore, he prefers to combine his music with literal works. Take Schumann¡¦s Waldszenen op. 82, for example, the composer used poems to help elaborate the great piece. The thesis sets out from the introduction of Schumann¡¦s biography, and then further explores the features of Schumann¡¦s piano music in different phases, the development of his Characteristic piece, and the interrelationship between Schumann¡¦s piano music and literature. Besides, the motive and background of writting Waldszenen is mentioned, and the poetic imagery in Waldszenen is clearly discussed. Last, the composing method and technique of this great work will be analyzed.

Measuring value added characteristics in feeder cattle

Mathews, Crystal Dawn 15 May 2009 (has links)
According to the USDA, there were 52.7 million marketings of cattle through live and internet auction markets and other venues in 2005. With the national average herd size at 43 head, most producers have limited bargaining power when it comes to marketing and auctioning their cattle. This has led to the birth of numerous value added cattle programs in the U.S. Value added programs are named as such, because they add additional value to the cattle before they are sold, but this value is difficult to quantify. The objective of this research was to measure the value of characteristics of feeder cattle sold through auction markets and special source verified feeder cattle sales, specifically the value of participating in these value added programs. Data over seven years from regular and special feeder cattle sales at Joplin Regional Stockyards were used. The effects of explanatory variables on sale price were analyzed using ordinary least squares regression hedonic model. Type of sale, seasonality, cyclical effects, lot size, weight, breed type, sex, commingling, fed cattle futures price, and corn price were all found to have an impact on the sale price of feeder cattle. Feeder calves sold through MFA Health Track Beef Alliance and other value added programs received a premium over those calves that sold through regular sales and the premiums for MFA and other value added programs were statistically different. Commingled lots of feeder cattle received a discount in comparison with non-commingled lots, but a lot size of 17 head would offset the negative effect of commingling. The predictive power of the hedonic model was tested using out of sample forecasting. The mean absolute percent error and root mean square error are indicators of the ability of the model to forecast sale price based on the measured impact of the explanatory variables. When the hedonic model was used for forecasting the out of sample data, the MAPE was 7.84 and the RMSE was 10.48.

The Perception of Organizational Politics and the reason of perception of Organizational Politics For Public and Private Enterprises

Chang, Pei-Yin 16 August 2004 (has links)
Abstract In recent years, many enterprises¡¦ organization structure were toward gradually to the ¡¥flat¡¦ from pyramid-like hierarchical system for avoiding slowdown in transmitting information and implementing any decision, and tended to have teamwork instead of individual workforce, from those employees gained more power to involve in the organization decision. And, such trend led to the increase of interaction and reliance on each member or divisions of organization. Yet, the increment of job overlap meant overlap in job performance, the manner of ¡¥selfish¡¦ human beings have plus independence of individual job triggered the fight of power and benefits, the political behaviors, ¡¥contending prize shifting blame¡¦, were emerged from ¡§employee-employee¡¨ even ¡§employee-supervisor¡¨. Perceptions of organizational politics are engaged in research in employee¡¦s feeling about the political behaviors in his working environment. For years, there¡¦re various definitions about organizational politics proposed by researchers in this field, organizational politic behaviors as well. In running business, employees are required good job attitude by employer, but on the other hand, employees are accompanied the rising of political behaviors in organization. What environment would result in action taken by people ¡¥perception of fact¡¦, not ¡¥truth of fact¡¦, after all, what consequence would it be taken? That¡¦s worthy of consideration. The mainframe of this research is based on the variables of perceptions of organizational politics model proposed by Ferris et al (1989), the domestic public¡Bprivate enterprises are the examined objects, studying the variables influence on perceptions of organizational politics, and the difference between public and private employees to perceptions of organizational politics. Issued 3651 questionnaire, the sample consisted of 2306 employee; the collecting rate reached 63.16% The data being examined by statistic method as variance analysis, Pearson¡¦s r, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis etc., and the findings are as follow: ¤@. Through exploratory study, three dimensions were contributed to perceptions of organizational politics: 1. Employee and Supervisor behavior 2. The range between policy and practice 3. Keeping silence for advantage ¤G. The difference found by individual variables in perceptions of organizational politics: 1. Significant difference was found in Age¡Beducation¡Bworking tenure and the tenure with supervisor. 2. Significant difference was found in job ranks for both perceptions of organizational politics and three dimensions. 3. Significant difference was found in the employees of public¡Bprivate organization¡FThe public employees have higher perceptions than privates¡¦. ¤T. The examining finding on influence hypothesis¡Gby multiple linear regression analysis¡F 1. In individual factors, significant influence was found in the personality characteristics of employees of public¡Bprivate organization for both perceptions of organizational politics and each dimension. 2. In working environment, negative influence was found in the promotion opportunity of public¡Bprivate organization for both perceptions of organizational politics and each dimension. 3. In organization factors, negative influence was found in job rank¡Borganization professionalization¡Bdemocratization for private employees in the perceptions of organizational politics, but no effect on public employees. 4. The variables to the variance explanation of whole explanation of perceptions of organizational politics, the public organization could be reached to 42.60%¡F 41.40% to private organization. This research indicated that there¡¦re some degrees of difference on the influence of perceptions of organizational politics at individual¡Borganization and environment factors of public¡Bprivate organization, after empirical studies, knowing there¡¦re vary personality characteristics in individual factors¡Bvary organization structure and difference of job characteristics, more significance in respective degree, more influence in the existence of perceptions of organizational politics, therefore, understanding more respective existent contributory factors of perceptions of organizational politics, helping enterprises more in finding right person to right place, and employee could find suitable enterprise to develop his expertise for mutual great advantage, that¡¦s the ultimate goal human resource management implemented eventally.

Three-dimensional Electromagnetic Performance Analyses of an In-mold Stirrer

Chen, Yen-Ming 31 July 2006 (has links)
The in-mold electromagnetic stirrer is a kind of device which is utilized to stir the molten steel in the steel factory. This thesis provides a detailed three-dimensional electromagnetic analysis of an in-mold electromagnetic stirrer driven by the moving magnetic field produced from stator winding currents. A commercial finite element analysis software will be utilized to calculate the flux density, eddy current, and electromagnetic force from static and dynamic analyses, and the above three physical phenomena are also discussed to obtain the 3-D electromagnetic characteristics. In order to improve the operational properties of the in-mold electromagnetic stirrer, the various position of the stator is modified to observe the distribution of the electromagnetic force. Besides, the magnitude and frequency of the input currents are also adjusted to predict the probable performances during on-site operation.

The Impact of Enterprise characteristic on Resource allocation of Software project

Wang, Ching-wen 04 August 2006 (has links)
In order to maximize the capacities of resources constraints in the multiple projects environment, it is firstly necessary to make sure where the resources constraints are, and to schedule them. And then, add a set of time buffer to protect the bottle-neck resources. For some purposes, the project schedule is not easy to be altered in enterprises. Instead of adding a set of time buffer, we use others ways to protect resource constraints and to improve capacities. 4 cases are discussed in this research respectively, and the characteristics in this research contain whether the project plan is announced at the year beginning, whether the number of team members is fixed, and whether the project is outsourced or in-house. The main purpose is to investigate how the enterprises arrange the resources in 3 different periods: the projects at the year beginning, new projects joined during a year , and new demands in the existing projects during a year. The research results show: (1) Enterprises usually recruit employees at the beginning of the year, which prevents from the unqualified human resource as the projects going. (2) The teams with fixed member are allocated members in the projects which are the same domain. It¡¦s not easy to support between projects of different domains in the same team, except IT support. It¡¦s also difficult to support between teams, because the relationship of teams is competitive. (3) In the established team in terms of projects, enterprises assign team members in project which are the same domain by the function. It¡¦s easy to support between members with the same domain. It¡¦s not easy to support between members with different domain, except IT support. (4) Carrying out outsourcing projects in the enterprises, complete project in the different period to explore the resource constraints. (5) Carrying out in-house projects in the enterprise, reduce insignificance project scope or to reschedule insignificance project to explore the resource constraints. (6) Carrying outsourcing and in-house projects in the enterprises, reduce insignificance project scope or to reschedule insignificance project to explore the resource constraints.
