The Effects of Ambient Scent on purchase behavior under Different Product Attribute and Consumer Characteristic

In nowadays, advertisement and DM overwhelm our life, and visual Marketing is overused for a long time. Therefore, other marketing tools about sense organs may become new field. According previous researches pointed out, sense of smell may be most powerful but lower developed sense, and people have strong recognition and memory pattern about sense of smell as well. As a result, scent could be a good method to apply in the brand and marketing. Besides, there are plenty of foreign researches about sense of smell, but there are only few domestic papers which focus on this issue. Under this circumstances, it is hard to determine whether the foreign researches could apply in Taiwan. Therefore, the proposition of this study are as following¡G (1) Analysis the influence about environment scent to emotion, recall, evaluation and behavior about consumer.(2) Analysis the influence about environment scent under different product types to emotion, recall, evaluation, and behavior about consumer. (3) Analysis the influence about environment scent under different consumer characteristics to emotion, recall, evaluation, and behavior about consumer. In this study, environment scent is independent variables, and product type and consumer characteristic are moderators. This research is a 2(environment scent) x 2(product type) experiment design. Comparing the result of consumer emotion, recall, evaluation, behavior between groups about using environment scent or not, product types and consumer characteristics. The conclusions are summarized as follows¡G (1) Having environment scent is more obvious about consumer emotion, recall, evaluation, and behavior. (2)There is no difference under product types about consumer emotion, recall, evaluation, and behavior. (3) There is interaction between under consumer characteristic about consumer emotion, recall, evaluation, and behavior.

Ripple Current Effect on Output Power of Solar Cell

This thesis investigates the effect of the ripple current on the output power of solar cells. A solar panel with several metal halide lamps is set up to emulate the photovoltaic power system, which is cascaded by a boost converter and a buck-boost converter to extract triangular and trapezoidal currents, respectively. All experiments are operated under the room temperature with different current ripples and frequencies. The measured current and voltage waveforms at the output powers indicate that the dynamic characteristics are very different from static ones obtained from the dc loads. It is found that the output voltage lags the current when the peak of the rippled current goes beyond the maximum power point (MPP), leading to a declination in the average output power. This phenomenon becomes more severe for a higher peak, lower frequency, and larger charge of the rippled current exceeding the MPP. In addition, the declination in the average power may cause a shift of the MPP.

This study discusses competitive interaction between smartphone manufacturers by the view of dynamic competitive. Focusing on 20 brands which have entered Taiwan smartphone market, this study collected the time of innovation behavior (technical innovation, appearance innovation and marking innovation) from Internet and smartphone magazine. There are five variables in this thesis which include firm country, firm diversity, firm outsourcing, firm age and firm size, and to the three innovation behaviors, (technical innovation, appearance innovation and marking innovation), this study proposes fifteen hypothesizes. In order to explore the relationship between firm characteristics and competitive responding speed. Using the Cox proportional hazard model in survival analysis, this study shows the result that the manufacturers respond faster while they have lower diversity and large scale.

With the rise of feminism, the number of working women has increased significantly. Relatively, the proportion of women who act as supervisors has been increasing continuously and obviously. In many well-known international enterprises, many high-ranking female leaders have emerged, displaying their unique characteristics of management and leadership, leading companies to increasingly thriving. The study mainly explored the leadership styles of female leaders and gender role related matters. The study objects were high-ranking female leaders. By the means of field interview, female leaders in various industries were interviewed. The data collected and contents of interviews were cross compared with the self-assessment of the interviewees. This study explored through three aspects as below: 1. Leadership styles of female leaders 2. Impact of gender role 3. The gender role impact of female leaders on the leadership style Based on the individual leadership characteristics and gender identity, main leadership styles and commonality were summarized. Critical successful factors were explored through the characteristics, style and experience of successful female leaders. This study adopted the methods of qualitative research, case study and semi-structured intensive interview. The findings of this study are listed as below: 1. The leadership style of high-ranking female leaders: Democratic leadership is the main style, supplemented by autocratic leadership to guide the subordinates to negotiate, reach a consensus and achieve goals. 2. Work-centered leadership style: Most female leaders adopt work-centered style which can easily achieve the goal of work. 3. Mainstream of transformational leadership: The study found out that all female leaders adopted transformational leadership uniformly. The main reason is that it is more suitable for working environment and it is effective in developing team consensus. 4. Glass ceiling effect: Owing to the change of gender stereotype, professional capabilities and work performances were the main basis for promotion. Gender isn¡¦t the main factor to be considered any longer.

We prove that every Jordan isomorphism of M_{n}(F),n >= 3 is either an isomorphism or an antiisomorphism if n is odd, and it is not true if n is even. We also describe the Jordan isomorphisms and Jordan derivations on M_{2}(GF(2)).

The Impact of Knowledge Creation Activity on Organizational Performance

In the knowledge economy age, the capability of a business to gain advantage depends not only on tangible assets but also on intangible assets, such as the knowledge owned by the organization. Given the importance of knowledge, knowledge management has become a very important task for business to remain competitive. Many literatures in knowledge management have emphasized the key role of knowledge creation activities and their impact on organizational performance. In particular, they have focused on the effect of creativity. In the study, we extend previous framework to add organizational learning to enhance the existing model. An empirical study was conducted to examine the extended model. Major findings include the following: (1) Socialization, combination and internalization have positive impacts on both organizational creativity and organizational learning, but externalization does not. (2) Both organizational creativity and organizational learning have positive impacts on organizational performance. (3) The explicitness of knowledge has a moderating effect on the effect of socialization and organizational learning and on the effect of externalization and organizational learning. (4) The degree of organizational knowledge has a moderating effect on the effect of internalization and organizational creativity.

Study of Characteristic Harmonics Detection by Probabilistic Neural Network

The technology of power electronics is used increasingly during recent years, and the electronic power facilities are used more and more in the power system. The non-linear electronic loads produce heavy harmonic currents and could significantly degrade the power quality. Nonlinear loads, including the un-interruptible power supply, motor control and converter, etc, are important equipment in a modern factory, however, these nonlinear loads could lead to power facility malfunction and capacitor damage. The harmonics would eventually cause severe unexpected capital loss. Power quality has become an important study. This thesis proposes the probabilistic neural network (PNN) for power harmonics detection from distorted waves. Originally, Fourier transform is often used to analyze distorted waves in frequency spectrum, and low-pass filter is used to eliminate the fundamental component where characteristic harmonics can be detected. The complicated process is difficult to operate in real time. PNN based processing model with physical harmonic data is used to simplify the process. Computer simulation will show a simplified model and shorter processing time for harmonic detection in the active filter. The Intranet based distributed characteristic harmonic monitoring system.LabVIEW language was used to develop the Human-Machine Interface(HMI) , and DataSocket tool was used to share the information on net.

DSP Based Real-Time Human Face Recognition System

The thesis illustrates the development of DSP-based¡§Real-Time Human Face Recognition System¡¨.The principal system consists of three major subsystems.There are Image Acquisition System¡AImage Preprocessing System and human face characteristic extraction . For experiment,we adopted colored face image with complex background and simulate on PC.We found the characteristic points and characteristic vectors from the face image which is searched from Gene algorithm.Then,we use the recognition system to recognize the face image.Finally we implant it to DSP. Shown by the experimental result,this system has good recognition and efficiency.

The Impact of Knowledge Resources on Organizational Performance

The proverb ¡§Knowledge is power¡¨ points out the importance of knowledge. The advancement of information technology and increased competition among enterprises has pushed many researchers to study knowledge management. Most organizations understand the importance of knowledge and treat knowledge as a vital resource. However, it is not quite clear whether knowledge resource can increase organizational performance in the constantly changing environment. Although literature has indicated the key role of knowledge resources and their impact on organizational performance, empirical study is still lacking in this research domain. Hence, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between knowledge resources and organizational performance. An empirical study was conducted to evaluate the research model. Major findings include: (1) The degree of knowledge documentation has significant positive effect on the market performance of an organization; (2) Organizational culture and the degree of information technology applications have significant positive effects on both management performance and market performance. Organizational structure has significant positive effects on management performance, but the explicit-orientation of knowledge management strategy has negative effects on both management performance and market performance; (3) The nature of organizational knowledge has a moderating effect on the effect of the degree of information technology applications on management performance. Our findings can help managers and chief knowledge officers better the nature of organizational knowledge and organizational performance in order to cope with the dynamic environment.
