Publicering inom skogsvetenskap : Bibliometrisk analys av ämnesområdet skogsvetenskap

Sandström, Emma January 2012 (has links)

Skolebiblioteksforskning : En bibliometrisk undersøkelse / School Library Research : A bibliometric study

Tanem, Tove Rudi January 1900 (has links)
The aim of this study was to map the school library research field for the last 20 years. The research questions asked were:1. Which researchers and publications can be identified in the research base of school library research in the time period 1995-2014, and what relations can be identified between them?2. Which researchers and publications can be identified in the research front of school library research in the time period 1995-2014, and what relations can be identified between them?3. Which terms can be identified in school library research in the time period 1995-2014?To answer these questions, a bibliometric study of the research field was done through publications retrieved from the database Web of Science. The metadata of the documents were analyzed in VOSviewer, a software program used to find relations between publications, researchers and subject terms. The research methods used were co-citation analysis, bibliographic coupling and co-word analysis. The results indicate that Lance and Kuhlthau dominate the research base with their publications about information literacy, information searching and school library impact studies. The research front is focused on use of electronic resources, digital media and information literacy. Clyde and Montiell-Overall are the main researchers.

Den kulturpolitiska forskningens intellektuella bas och inriktningar : En författarcociteringsanalys av artiklar publicerade i International Journal of Cultural Policy 2002-2007 / The intellectual base and research approaches of cultural policy studies : An author cocitation analysis of articles published in International Journal of Cultural Policy 2002-2007

Jönsson, Martin January 2008 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to map the intellectual base, and identify the general research interests, of Cultural Policy studies. In addition to this the thesis also aims to trace the uses of theoretical and conceptual approaches within the identified research interests. This is done by analysing citations from 130 articles published in the leading scientific journal International Journal of Cultural Policy between the years 2002-2007 using the bibliometric method author cocitation analysis (ACA). The results of the ACA confirm the overall notion that the research field of cultural policy studies is an ambiguous one, even when it’s studied with a quantitative method specialised in uncovering hidden structures within a given field as ACA. Theoretical and conceptual approaches proved, with the sole exception to the concept of policy, very difficult to discover by only using ACA. Five general research interests in Cultural Policy studies have been identified from the MDS-map created trough the ACA; these are:o Cultural/Creative industries.o Cultural planning, cultural cities.o Traditional cultural policy (British).o Traditional cultural policy (French).o Democracy, public sphere and culture. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Forskningsfronten inom informationsvetenskap : en bibliometrisk analys / The research front of information science : a bibliometric study

Spendrup Thynell, Patrik, Westlin, Eva January 2007 (has links)
The aim of this study is to analyze and describe the research front within information science. To reach this purpose we ask the following research question: Which research themes can be identified within the subject field of information science by using bibliographic coupling in combination with cluster analysis. The data for our study consists of articles from the journals Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology and Journal of Documentation throughout the years 2004-2006. The bibliographic information from the articles was analyzed with the combined methods of bibliographic coupling and cluster analysis. This gave fifteen clusters within which we identified research themes. When analyzing these results we found four main fields of research within the research front of information science: Information retrieval, bibliometrics, knowledge organization and information science as research discipline. Information retrieval proved to be the largest field of research followed by bibliometrics and thereafter the two significantly smaller fields of research knowledge organization and information science as research discipline. When comparing our results with previous research we found that despite different choice of methods and data, there were some similarities. / Uppsatsnivå: D

En författarcociteringsanalys av forskningsfältet socialpsykologi / An author co-citation analysis of the research field social psychology

Fors, Veronica January 2008 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to use the bibliometric method author cocitation analysis (ACA) and investigate the cognitive structure in a research field, which is called the intellectual base. The research field in this investigation is social psychology. The main question is: what is the nature of the cognitive structure, which contains of the intellectual base. This question is divided in two sub questions: • Which are the most prominent authors in the research field? • Which sub areas, based on groups of the most cocited authors in the research field, can be identified? An investigation with ACA is used to describe the general experience of consensus of later authors in a research field. It is assumed that if two authors are cited cumulatively together (cocited), it’s an indication of an intellectual relationship between them. The investigation is made by gathering data from ISI’s database SSCI from the period 1999-2007. The authors with most cocitations in the field during this period were identified and considered the most prominent authors in the field. These author cocitation frequencies were analysed with MDS-techniques and visualised in a map in two dimensions. Three sub areas of the research field were then identified, based on groups of authors on the map and their subject matter:Sub area 1: Theories about social cognitionSub area 2: Theories about emotions and social influenceSub area 3: Theories about characteristic feature (trait) / Uppsatsnivå: D

En bibliometrisk kartläggning av det astronomiska/astrofysikaliska forskningsområdet ”extrasolar planets” / A bibliometric mapping of the astronomical/astrophysical research area “extrasolar planets”

Fjällmyr, Lennart January 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to bibliometrically investigate and describe the research area called “extrasolar planets”. The research questions were: Which authors were mostly cited within the area when the first authors (and their co-authors) were considered? Which authors were found in most co-occurrences? Did particular author collaborations emerge? To which institutions were most authors affiliated and did the size of the institution have an influence on whether an author was cited? What was the geographic distribution of authors and institutions and were there any patterns of collaboration?Did the image of dominating institutions and countries depend on the viewpoint? How applicable was Lotka’s law on the collected data? The data was collected from citation lists in documents from the database Arxiv.org. The documents were extracted by using the search term “extrasolar planets”. By using citation analysis and the method a)”first author counting”, complimented by the method b)”fractional counting” used on a material screened by method a), for accrediting publications to authors and countries, an image of the research area was depicted. Method b) was also used for extracting information about author collaboration and geographic distributions. The most quoted first author, also found in most co-occurrences, was attached to the largest institution, located in USA. Most quoted authors, almost 60%, were attached to USA. However, the results were inconclusive when the viewpoints were changed. Apart from the fact that 57.8% of the quoted documents originated from 9.5% of the first authors, Lotka’s law was not applicable.

Citeringsmotiv och forskningsevaluering inom kardiologisk forskning. En kvalitativ intervjustudie / Motives for citing and research evaluation within cardiology research. A qualitative interview study

Moberg, Klas January 2010 (has links)
The issue of using citation based indicators in the evaluation of science is widely discussed. Only recently did bibliometric indicators become one out of many means for the allocation of financial resources for scientific research at Swedish universities. The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the issue of using citations when evaluating science. The author studied the issue from the perspective of citers’ motives. Previous studies indicate differences in motivations for citing between separate research fields. The thesis will focus on the field of cardiology. A qualitative interview study with cardiology scientists is balanced against existing literature in the field of citers’ motives and evaluated in a theoretical framework based on normative and social constructivist theories. Results indicate multiple motives for citing. Normative reasons were generally more common but social constructivist motives were also observed. This outcome supports the notion that there exists no unifying citation theory. The use of citations within science evaluation is moderately supported, depending on the definition of the term science evaluation. The interview study implies that references are mainly chosen based on quality and relevance but instances of less preferable elements as persuasion, favouring national references and randomness of reference selection does also occur. This thesis is an incentive to continue studying citers’ motives in relation to citation oriented science evaluation within different fields of scholarship. A thorough quantitative study would either validate or question the use of citations within research evaluation on a more general level.

En bibliometrisk undersökning av bibliometrins utveckling : Undersökning av hur publikationen av bibliometriska, informetriska, scientometriska och webometriska artiklar har utvecklats sedan 1960- talet

Tågerud, Sara January 2015 (has links)
The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the publication- and citation patterns of the articles concerning bibliometrics, informetrics, scientometrics, and webometrics which can be found on Web of Science, and give a brief description of how the definition of the four terms has developed. I have looked at how the number of published papers have developed over the years and to what extent they have been quoted by other researchers. I have also briefly adressed what other research fields are referring to articles published in the four areas. The material I looked at includes articles that can be found on Web of Science with one (or more) of the four terms as topic and are categorised under library- and information science starting with the first bibliometrics article which was published in 1969, and ending in 2013. The results show that the publications in all four fields are continuously increasing. For bibliometrics and scientometrics it shows a slow increase up until 2005, then increasing exponentially. Informetric seems to be a comparatively small topic and webometrics is increasing, but is still a relatively young topic which makes it hard to make any concrete conclusions Regarding the citations, it shows that citations for the bibliometrical articles have had a steady curve increasing up until 2005, and then decreasing, the informetric- and scientometrical articles have rather scattered results and the webometrics have decreasing results, which I deduce is based on the fact that it is a new field and citations do not appear until after a few years. Finally I recommend future research, based on the related research I have found.

Videoreferenser i vetenskaplig publicering : en undersökning av hänvisningar till YouTube-videor i vetenskapliga artiklar / Video citation in scientific publication : an analysis of referencing YouTube videos in research articles

Bourghardt, Pär January 2021 (has links)
This study aims to investigate and map references to online video resources in scientific publication and provide an overview of the relatively unexplored topic. Scientific articles containing references to videos uploaded on YouTube are examined and the methodology used to observe and describe video citation is influenced by previous research on citation analysis. This study uses a combination of context analysis and content analysis of the citations and their references. The location of video citation in the articles and the assessment of relevance indicates that referencing YouTube is meaningful for the scope of the citing articles and the most common purpose for citing uploaded video is to support and substantiate claims or assumptions. There are two key findings in the study. The first is the generated video citation, which is a unique type of citation only to be found when citing video. A generated citation is defined as a sort of self-citation, produced and uploaded by the author. In the case of generated citations, the author uses the multimodality and pedagogical properties of moving visuals to present their research. The other finding concerns the citation context and is the medium integral citation –a citation behavior where the type of medium with which the cited information is recorded, is mentioned within the citation context.

Biblioteks- och informationsvetenskaplig forskning i Europa : En bibliometrisk undersökning / Library and information science research in Europe : A bibliometric study

Pástiné Boruzs, Mariann, Zieminska, Justyna January 2023 (has links)
This paper aims to provide an overview of trends and research growth in the field of library and information science in Europe for the period 2000–2020. Current changes and trends were analyzed based on articles published in Web of Science. The research questions are: 1. How is the development of LIS research in Europe compared to the global research output? 2. Which countries have the highest cited articles in Europe compared to the countries with the most published articles? 3. Which keywords dominate LIS research during the period 2000-2020? To answer these questions, bibliometric methods are applied, such as citation analysis and co-word analysis. The results are reported using diagrams, tables and maps that have been created using VOSviewer. The result implies that Europe is a growing LIS research community and has reached a great development in the last twenty years. Europe’s output of global LIS research has increased significantly from 25 percent articles published between 2000 and 2004 to 36 percent between 2015 and 2019. The ranking among the most published countries is: Great Britain, Spain, and Germany. However, the countries that receive the highest citations are Great Britain (37 percent of the highly cited articles), the Netherlands (15 percent) and Germany (13 percent). The leading keywords in European research between 2000 and 2019 are: impact, science, information, and technology.
