En författarcociteringsanalys av forskningsfältet socialpsykologi / An author co-citation analysis of the research field social psychology

Fors, Veronica January 2008 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to use the bibliometric method author cocitation analysis (ACA) and investigate the cognitive structure in a research field, which is called the intellectual base. The research field in this investigation is social psychology. The main question is: what is the nature of the cognitive structure, which contains of the intellectual base. This question is divided in two sub questions: • Which are the most prominent authors in the research field? • Which sub areas, based on groups of the most cocited authors in the research field, can be identified? An investigation with ACA is used to describe the general experience of consensus of later authors in a research field. It is assumed that if two authors are cited cumulatively together (cocited), it’s an indication of an intellectual relationship between them. The investigation is made by gathering data from ISI’s database SSCI from the period 1999-2007. The authors with most cocitations in the field during this period were identified and considered the most prominent authors in the field. These author cocitation frequencies were analysed with MDS-techniques and visualised in a map in two dimensions. Three sub areas of the research field were then identified, based on groups of authors on the map and their subject matter:Sub area 1: Theories about social cognitionSub area 2: Theories about emotions and social influenceSub area 3: Theories about characteristic feature (trait) / Uppsatsnivå: D

Forskningsfronten och forskningsbasen inom informationsvetenskap : en bibliometrisk undersökning / The research front and the intellectual base of information science : a bibliometric study

Eriksson Lindberg, Jon-Isac January 2007 (has links)
The purpose with this study is to map the research front and the research base in information science, by using the bibliometric methods bibliographic coupling and author-co citation analysis. The research questions are: 1. What is the nature of the research front in information science, regarding which areas that are being studied? 2. What is the nature of the research base in information science, regarding which authors who are most cited, and how they can be grouped? The data used in the study were gathered from articles published in the journal Journal of the American society for information science and technology, published between 2004-2006, respectively 1986-2006. The result was presented by using cluster analysis and MDS-maps. The study shows that the research front can be divided in to three areas: 1. Information searching and information retrieval from the World Wide Web. 2. Bibliometrics. 3. Information searching and information retrieval, not from the World Wide Web. The 50 most cited authors was identified, and could be grouped into three areas: 1. Bibliometrics, 2. General, 3. Hard-IR/Soft-IR. / Uppsatsnivå: D

Kiš, Kish or Kiški? : A Bibliometrics study of the domain Assyriology / Kiš, Kish eller Kiški? : En bibliometrisk studie av domänen assyriologi

Larsson, Olivia January 2021 (has links)
This thesis aims to examine how the domain Assyriology can be analyzed with bibliometrics. It uses the domain analytic perspective by Birger Hjørland and Hanne Albrechtsen. The metadata was collected through the Web of Science and the dataset covers the years 2016-2020 from the journals Akkadica, Journal of Near Eastern Studies, Ancient Near Eastern studies, Journal of Ancient Near Eastern Religions and Zeitschrift für Assyriologie und Vorderasiatische Archäologie. The domain was studied by analyzing citations, the documents, languages, place of publication, the age of references and the authors by visualizing patterns in figures and tables. Co-authorship analysis was used to display collaboration between countries. The content was analyzed with co-citation analysis of references and co-word analysis of title words to visualize the knowledge structures within the domain. The study found that Co-word analysis did give a general idea of different knowledge patterns but there were few clear structures. The co-citation analysis was found to reveal more clear structures though the references had a low citation rate and so might not be representative of the whole domain. It was found to be effective to use tables and figures to visualize certain aspects and patterns within the domain. In conclusion, bibliometrics was found to be effective to gain knowledge about the domain Assyriology. This is a two years master's thesis in Library and Information Science. / Den här uppsatsen ämnar att analysera hur domänen assyriologi kan analyseras med hjälp av bibliometri. Uppsatsen använder ett domänanalytiskt perspektiv av Birger Hjørland and Hanne Albrechtsen. Metadatan har samlats in från Web of Science och datasetet består material från tidsperioden 2016-2020 från tidskrifterna AkkAncient Near Eastern studies, adica, Journal of Near Eastern Studies, Journal of Ancient Near Eastern Religions and Zeitschrift für Assyriologie und Vorderasiatische Archäologie.
