Very often when we are looking to buy new IT equipment in an online store, we face the problem that certain parts of our order are not compatible with others or sometimes one part needs additional components. From another point of view in this process, when an online store owner wants to manage the products available in stock, assign prices, set conditions to make an order, or manage customer information, he or she must often rely on information from different systems, physical files, or other sources. EpicConfigurator simplifies and solves the issues mentioned above. EpicConfigurator makes it easy for User Customers to configure computer products by making the process of product selection more straightforward. It can actively gather customer requirements and map them to a set of products and service options. These capabilities will guide users towards an optimal solution for their needs. EpicConfigurator also allows User Customers to keep track and edit saved product configurations. This system also includes a user administrator perspective that allows Store Owners to act as User Admins helping them to manage and load new products, set configuration rules for products and manage all users. Following open source technologies, EpicConfigurator is an application easy to enhance, expand and integrate with newer technologies. This is a configurator tool and does not provide any purchasing feature. To purchase, the configuration results should be provided to the local reseller or sales representative to get an official quote.

Le travail de cette thèse a été mené au sein de la collaboration CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid), une des quatre experiences en cours d'installation au LHC (Large Hadron Collider) du CERN. La thèse se focalise sur le calorimètre électromagnétique de CMS: les performances du detecteur sont étudiées en détail en utilisant soit des données de tests réalisés sur faisceau d'électrons soit une simulation complète du détecteur. Une étude du bruit de fond électronique dans la chaîne de lecture a conduit à l'élaboration de deux méthodes de reconstruction de l'amplitude des signaux, l'une en cas de saturation de la chaîne et l'autre en cas de bruit de fond cohérent. La thèse presente aussi une étude des méthodes de reconstruction des électrons dans CMS, qui a conduit à la première définition dans CMS de la qualité de mesure d'un électron, à une procédure pour établir l'échelle d'énergie des électrons et à la combinaison des informations du calorimètre et du trajectomètre pour obtenir une estimation optimale de l'impulsion de l'électron au vertex. Ces resultats sont appliqués à l'analyse du potentiel de découverte de l'Higgs dans le canal de désintegration H->ZZ(*)->4e pour lequel une te! chnique standard de selections séquentielles ainsi qu'une technique optimale utilisant des reseaux de neurones sont proposées.

<p>Under de senaste åren har webbplatser blivit allt mer komplexa och informationen som ska visas och hanteras allt större. För att underlätta hantering och administration av dessa system har många CMS-system vuxit fram. Dessa system kan skilja sig mycket beträffande pris och funktionalitet, allt från mindre open source system till stora komplexa kommersiellt drivna system. Detta arbete bygger på att skräddarsy ett CMS-system för administration och hantering av innehåll på diverse artist sidor, som hanteras av ett medieföretag. Systemet använder tekniker som JavaScript, PHP, MySQL som grund för dess uppbyggnad. Resultatet av detta arbete blev ett CMS-system där användaren genom att logga in på systemet, enkelt kan hantera och uppdatera bilder, nyheter, textstrukturer, skicka och hantera nyhetsbrev etc.</p>

<p>Föräldrakooperativet Lillmyran är en förskola som ligger i Gävle och de har en hemsida som behöver utvecklas. Förskolan ville ha hjälp med att först kartlägga vilka förväntningar medlemmarna hade på deras hemsida. Därefter skulle det undersökas om deras plattform för webbpublicering, CMS Made Simple, hade de tekniska förutsättningar som krävdes för att förverkliga deras önskemål. Till sist skulle även hemsidan utvecklas med tanke på de villkoren. Kartläggningen av förväntningarna på hemsidan skedde med hjälp av en enkätundersökning och systemet skapades med hjälp av CMS Made Simple. Resultatet av enkätundersökningen visade att Lillmyran ville ha en hemsida med en publik och en intern del innehållande olika slags information. Funktioner såsom nyheter, bild- och dokumenthantering var några av önskemålen från medlemmarna. Nästan alla funktioner gick att förverkliga i CMS Made Simple och de implementerades även på hemsidan.</p>

Le LHC est un accélérateur de hadrons conçu essentiellement pour la découverte du boson de Higgs supposé être à l'origine de la masse des particules élémentaires. Ce boson est cependant le maillon manquant au Modèle Standard. Au LHC, les protons seront produits avec une énergie de 7 TeV chacun et la luminosité totale atteindra 10^34 cm-2 s-1. CMS est l'une des quatre grandes expériences actuellement en construction autour du LHC. Sa partie centrale sera constituée de senseurs au silicium à micro-pistes. Ces détecteurs au silicium sont, à présent, les plus précis pour la reconstruction des trajectoires des particules chargées. Néanmoins, les conditions de fonctionnement du LHC créent un environnement très hostile qui pourrait affecter à long terme les performances du silicium ainsi que l'électronique qui lui est associée. De ce fait, il devient judicieux de contrôler les effets des radiations et de s'assurer du bon fonctionnement de ces détecteurs pour toute la durée de leur opération. Cette thèse s'inscrit dans le cadre des tests de résistance aux radiations des senseurs à micro-pistes de CMS. Une présentation générale de CMS, des senseurs au silicium à micro-pistes ainsi que des effets des dégâts radiatifs sur ces derniers sera donnée en premier lieu. Cette présentation sera suivie d'un descriptif des dispositifs d'irradiation et de caractérisation électrique développés spécialement pour tester ces senseurs. Enfin, les résultats obtenus seront présentés et discutés.

<p>The aim of this diploma work is to compare and evaluate different methods to enable small web sites to make available videos which will be shared the users. Storage and bandwidth problems of small web sites are taken into account. The requirements of the system were defined as: configurable, feasible, easy use and easy to integrate. Existing solutions and different implementation alternatives are analyzed. With a tool based upon a CMS, using recordings residing on powerful dedicated video providers and with AJAX “technology”, the criteria are fulfilled. As part of the investigation, a prototype tool based upon TYPO3 has been implemented.</p>

In this dissertation results are presented from a search for the pair production of heavy colored particles (gluinos, squarks) in R-parity conserving supersymmetric models, in which the lightest supersymmetric particle is a stable and neutral object. The search was performed for events with at least two tau leptons, two highly energetic jets and large missing transverse momentum in the final state on a data sample of proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. The data sample was collected by the Compact Muon Solenoid detector at the Large Hadron Collider in 2011, and it corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5fb^−1. The tau isolation variable was optimized for this search. The number of events corresponding to standard model processes in the final selection was estimated to be 7.49 ± 0.74 using background estimation techniques based on data. Nine observed events are found to be in agreement with the standard model prediction, and exclusion limits on gluino mass are obtained in the context of supersymmetric models at the 95% confidence level.
