No. of bitstreams: 1 ADM - Camila K Colnago.pdf: 913602 bytes, checksum: 2bcc5ea6b6a7cb0a09dfc54b017900d8 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-10-18 / Organizational communication, understood as a strategic element for management and administration in modern organizations, represents an important means of information flow and relationship between the inside environment of companies and their outside world: their customers, the market and society in general. Communication, as a rule, enables companies to build up their organizational culture and corporate identity and allows them to create a competitive and coherent institutional image. The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze the role of organizational communication in creating and maintaining a solid and strategically defined image as well as to check on how communication is currently carried out at Brazilian companies in practice. An exploratory and qualitative survey was done through applying non-standardized interviews to nonprobabilist sample, for convenience, in the cities of São Paulo - SP and Vitória - ES. On the occasion, the interviewees, who are professionals in the area of communication, described their professional experiences and practices related to the strategic utilization of organizational communication practices in forming the institutional image of their companies. The survey results showed that companies have been trying to get rid of the old concepts of vertical, instrumental and mandatory communication and that many times they have been able to establish much more participative, dialogic and strategic communication processes / A comunicação organizacional, entendida como elemento de caráter estratégico para a gestão e a administração das organizações modernas, representa um importante canal de troca de informações e relacionamento entre o ambiente interno das empresas e o mundo exterior a elas: seus públicos, o mercado e a sociedade em geral.

Azoulay, Audrey 28 November 2008 (has links) (PDF)

It considers the perspective of simultaneous occurrence of different forms of communication, since enterprises use different channels to interact with its various publics of interest. It takes into account the mediatization phenomenon, which restructures the way in which people relate with each other in contemporary society. The general aim of the research is to systematize roles that are potentially played in face-to-face interaction and to determine some of the circumstances that apply to its practice in organizations. Since this is a theoretical dissertation, bibliographical survey stands out as one of its main methodological procedures; analyses of empirical cases and a case study developed at Embrapa Pantanal constitute illustrative instances. The conclusion is that face-to-face communication occurs in enterprises simultaneously and combined with other communication channels, however, allowing practical and philosophical results as of yet scarcely explored. Only seldom is in person contact used strategically as a mechanism for establishing relationships, finding out the reaction of others and adjusting communications accordingly, linking corporate discourse to practice and evaluating the context within which interactions take place, which can be decisive for corporate communication.

Community development: the use of corporate social responsibility initiatives by shopping centre landlords

Adanlawo, Eyitayo Francis January 2017 (has links)
A thesis submitted to the Faculty of Arts in fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Masters in Communication Science in the Department of Communication Science at the University of Zululand, 2017 / The growing power of shopping centres within communities has changed the economic landscape and has also attracted concerns from society. This has inspired an increasing call for shopping centres landlords to play a substantial role in community development. This study explores the relationship between shopping centres landlords and the communities in which they reside-in with regards to corporate social responsibilities. The study is based on the premise that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives are seen as mandatory by shopping centres landlords as to ask what their contributions are to achieving sustainable development and improving the lives of people living in the local communities. In this regard, the study examines the role that shopping centres landlords play in bringing development to their various communities through CSR. The focus is on three shopping centres: Empangeni Sanlam Centre, Esikhawini Mall and Richards Bay Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre within uThungulu District Municipality. Relational theory and transactional model theory are used to develop a model for shopping centres landlords to embrace CSR as a tool to community development. This study employs a survey method which was conducted among the management of the centres and residents of Empangeni, Esikhawini and Richards Bay. The results of the study indicate that CSR initiatives embarked upon by shopping centres landlords through their management team are not communicated to the local community residents. This brings a gap in communication between the landlords and the local community residents. The practical implications of this finding showed that the model proposed for this study is promising in solving communication problem hindering CSR initiatives implementation.

A "communicational view" of the supply chain: theoretical foundations and empirical evidence

GIOVANARDI, MATTIA 25 March 2013 (has links)
The Ph.D. research project is based on a wide qualitative study aimed at building a theoretical framework of the communication processes along the SC identifying how communication supports strategic and operational SCM and providing managerial insights on how to make an effective and efficient use of communication resources over time. The project emphasizes how relationships and processes are affected by communication flows, depicting the links among SC processes, communication and SC performance dimensions. More specifically, the project methodological design is articulated in three subsequent interrelated research phases: 1. a systematic and critical literature review on SC and communication providing a focused analysis of the international debate on SC relationship-based processes highlighting communication as an enabler of social, information and physical flows among SC partners; 2. a two-step exploratory inductive-deductive study aimed at building a preliminary conceptual mapping of communication roles and channels supporting strategic and operational SCM; a comprehensive Grounded Theory (GT) study designed according to emergent insights from both the preliminary inductive-deductive analysis carried out and an in depth empirical research investigating widespread SC communication representations, practices and aspirations.

Managementprozess externer Unternehmenskommunikation über das Medium Corporate Blog: Eine dichte Beschreibung der sozialen Praxis aus Sicht der Unternehmensakteure

Seifert, Stefanie 21 January 2016 (has links)

Utváření obrazu žen ve firemních časopisech / Making the image of women in company magazines

Dlasková, Kristýna January 2019 (has links)
Internal communication is essential for every company. However it is not always perceived as such. Internal communication is a conveyor of information and company's values. It is based on corporate culture and it also influences in. It affects atmosphere and performance of the company, engagement and overall happiness of employees. It is also related to the rate of their fluctuation. Diversity, which is the key to the diversity of approaches and perspectives, is also comparatively important to the functioning of the company. Diversity brings more effective problem solving or team functioning. In this respect, companies should strive for gender equality in their working environment and take supportive initiatives to help women overcome barriers in the labor market. The Czech Republic is one of the worst-ranked countries in the European Union in terms of gender equality in the labor market. This diploma thesis deals with the interconnection of internal communication and topics related to promoting women in work and personal life. The aim of this thesis is to use qualitative research to find out how selected domestic companies work with these topics in internal communication.
