<p>This exam paper has been a collaboration between the writers and System Anderson AB. The assignment was about completing a client application, running on a PDA, and a server application, running as a web service. The web service handles the communication with System Anderssons existing database. The main goal for the application is that it will be used to increase efficiency in storage management. The client application will hold functions for withdrawal, purchase, delivering and inventory. This project brings up the implementation of the functions for withdrawal and purchasing.</p><p>A part of this exam paper contains the basic theory that underlies the project. It also contains a summary of the different choices that has been made.</p><p>The result of this exam paper is a well-functioning version of our application. The aim of this work is to create an application on Windows Mobile 6 platform for photo publication on the internet. Photos will be associated with geographic information. User will be able to attach geographic information to the photograph with use of connected GPS device and subsequently send these photographs to online publication system directly from mobile device.

Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited / Handheld devices have evolved significantly from mere simple organizers to more powerful handheld computers that are capable of network connectivity, giving it the ability to send e-mail, browse the World Wide Web, and query remote databases. However, handheld devices, because of its design philosophy, are limited in terms of size, memory, and processing power compared to desktop computers. This thesis investigates the use of Data Flow Query Language (DFQL) in querying local and remote databases from a handheld device. Creating Standard Query Language (SQL) queries can be a complex undertaking; and trying to create one on a handheld device with a small screen only adds to its complexity. However, by using DFQL, the user can submit queries with an easy to use graphical user interface. Although handheld devices are currently more powerful than earlier PCs, they still require applications with a small footprint, which is a limiting factor for software developed. The subject of this thesis is communication process between a mobile device and a server. The work is concerned with development of application in Windows Mobile in the light of technical limitation. The thesis also deals with the development of application for universal mobile database connector which then enables transparent working with information, obtained from database placed on server, on the mobile device.

This master's project deals with location based systems and their application in information distribution. The work discuss kinds of getting actual location. Then it focuses on problems of developing applications and description of Microsoft technologies for mobile devices. Based on obtained theoretical information we present design, implementation and testing of our own location based system.
