Klint, Andreas, Engman, Emma January 2008 (has links)
The aim of this study was to simultaneously analyze multiple evidence based risk factors for developing conduct problems. Multiple regression analyses were used to see which risk factors that best could explain conduct problems. The study was based on questionnaire responses from preschool teachers (n=298) and parents (n=239) of three- to five-year-old children. The risk factors examined were risk factors on individual and family level, and were considered the most potent to influence conduct problems, as well as more directly than indirectly related to conduct problems. The results indicate that risk factors on the individual level best predict norm breaking behavior, for children of this particular age.</p>

Lacroix, Katherine January 2017 (has links)
Abstract : This study investigates if the socioeconomic composition, as well as the physical and social disorder of neighborhoods were associated with academic performance among Quebec school children, with and without conduct problems, aged 12 to 15 (N = 630). In particular, the moderating role of conduct problems was explored. Findings indicated that physical and social disorder, along with the percentage of low income individuals in the neighborhood were associated with some aspects of academic performance. Conduct problems did, however, moderate between neighborhood variables and school performance. The implications of these findings will also be discussed.

Preventative Behavioral Parent Training: Demonstration of the Immediacy Effects of an Innovative Conduct Problem Prevention Program in Young At-Risk Children

Bolton, Alexis 01 May 2012 (has links)
Among preschool-aged children, conduct problems (CP) are the number one reason for referral to mental health professionals. Research has consistently indicated that behavioral parent training (BPT) is the most effective technique for treating children’s disruptive behavior; however, there is a lack of research regarding BPT effects in children below the age of 3. Preventive behavioral parent training (PBPT) can be considered a preventive extension of BPT. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree to which PBPT might yield immediate effects in reducing rates of conduct problems (i.e., noncompliance and tantrums) displayed by typically developing young children. Overall, findings indicated that all four child participants displayed decreased rates of noncompliance and tantrums as predicted.
