(piabanha-do-Pardo) sob distintas cores de aqu?rios e fotoper?odos, em dois experimentos distintos, com dura??o de 15 dias cada. Os trabalhos foram realizados em Machado Mineiro, distrito de ?guas Vermelhas (-15? 44'S e -41? 27'W), em dezembro de 2009 e janeiro de 2010. Em ambos os experimentos foram utilizados exemplares com 24 h, p?s-eclos?o. Durante os cinco primeiros dias de vida, as larvas foram alimentadas com 15 larvas de curimba larva-1 de piabanha dia-1 e, ap?s o sexto dia, com ra??o comercial. Os delineamentos foram inteiramente casualizados com cinco tratamentos e quatro repeti??es cada. Ao t?rmino dos trabalhos, foi determinada a sobreviv?ncia e determinada a biometria (peso e comprimento). O primeiro trabalho objetivou avaliar o desempenho e sobreviv?ncia de larvas de Brycon sp. (piabanha-do-Pardo) cultivadas em aqu?rios de cores claras e escuras. Os tratamentos consistiram na utiliza??o de aqu?rios de diferentes cores, sendo: tr?s cores claras (branco, verde e azul) e duas escuras (marrom e preto). Os exemplares foram estocados na densidade de 15 larvas L-1 em 20 aqu?rios com 4 L de volume ?til cada. O aqu?rio marrom levou a uma maior sobreviv?ncia (84,17%) e menor mortalidade (8,33%) e canibalismo (6,25%), quando comparado ao azul, que resultou em menor sobreviv?ncia (66,25%) e maiores mortalidade (15,00%) e canibalismo (21,25%). Os aqu?rios branco, verde e preto n?o diferiram entre si e do azul e marrom. Verificou-se uma diferen?a na pigmenta??o da pele das larvas (p<0,05), ficando mais escuras nos aqu?rios marrom e preto e mais claras nos ambientes branco, verde e azul. Aqu?rios marrons s?o recomendados para a larvicultura de piabanha-do-Pardo por promoverem maiores valores de sobreviv?ncia e menores taxas de mortalidade e canibalismo. O segundo experimento objetivou determinar a influ?ncia do fotoper?odo no crescimento e na sobreviv?ncia de larvas de Brycon sp. (piabanha-do-Pardo). Os exemplares foram estocados na densidade de 15 larvas L-1 em 20 aqu?rios com 5 L de volume ?til cada. Elas foram cultivadas sob diferentes fotoper?odos: 0HL (HL: horas de luz), 6HL, 12HL, 18HL e 24HL. Larvas cultivadas em 0HL, 12HL, 18HL e 24HL apresentaram maiores valores de peso, comprimento total e TCE quando comparadas ao de 6HL. Maiores valores de Fulton foram observados para fotoper?odos de 24HL, 0HL e 18HL, respectivamente, refletindo uma boa condi??o corporal das larvas nesses tratamentos. Menores valores foram registrados para 12HL e 6HL. A sobreviv?ncia reduziu com o aumento do fotoper?odo a partir de 12HL. Portanto, sugere-se a utiliza??o de um fotoper?odo intermedi?rio em torno de 9 h de luz, por promover maiores valores de sobreviv?ncia. A determina??o das cores e fotoper?odo adequados demonstrou ser importante para otimiza??o das t?cnicas de manejo. / Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Zootecnia, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2011. / ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the larviculture of Brycon sp. (Piabanha-the-Pardo) under different colors of aquariums and photoperiod, in two separated experiments, lasting 15 days each. The studies were conducted in Machado Mineiro, ?guas Vermelhas District (-15? 44'S and -41? 27'W) in December 2009 and January 2010. In both experiments we used specimens 24 h after hatching. During the first five-day-old, the larvae were fed with 15 larva/day of curimba/piabanha and after the sixth day, with commercial diet with 55% crude protein twice a day. The designs were completely randomized design with five treatments and four replicates. At the end of the work there was determined the survival and performed the biometry of all animals (weight and length), the data were submitted to ANOVA and means were compared by Tukey test at 5% probability. The first study aimed to evaluate the performance and survival of larvae of Brycon sp. (piabanha-do-Pardo) grown in aquaria with light and dark colors. The treatments consisted in the use of aquariums in different colors: three colors (white, green and blue) and two dark (brown and black). The specimens were stored at a density of 15 larvae/L in 20 aquariums with total volume of 4L each. The brown aquarium led to greater survival (84.17%) and lower mortality (8.33%) and cannibalism (6.25%) compared to blue which resulted in lower survival (66.25%), mortality (15.00%) and cannibalism (21.25%). While the white, green and black aquariums did not differ when compared to the blue and brown. There was a difference in skin pigmentation of the larvae (p<0.05), becoming more dark in the brown and black aquariums and more clear in white, green and blue ambients. Brown aquariums are recommended for the larvicultura of piabanha-do-Pardo for promoting the highest survival values and lower rates of mortality and cannibalism. The second experiment aimed to determine the influence of photoperiod on growth and survival of of Brycon sp. larvae (Piabanha-the-Pardo). The specimens were stored at a density of 15 larvae/L in 20 aquariums with 5L useful volume each. They were grown under different photoperiods: 0HL (HL: hours of light), 6HL, 12HL, 18HL and 24HL. The larvae maintained at 0HL, 12HL, 18HL and 24HL showed the best results for weight, length, specific growth rate (TCE) and condition factor of Fultom (K), when in comparison to 6HL. Higher Fulton values were observed for photoperiods of 24HL, 0HL and 18HL, respectively, reflecting a good body condition of the larvae in these treatments. Lowest values were recorded for 12HL and 6HL. Survival decreased with increasing photoperiod from 12HL. Therefore, it is suggested the use of an intermediate photoperiod around 9 h 23 min of light, due to promote higher levels of survival. The determination of the colors and appropriate photoperiod has shown to be important for optimizing management techniques.
