Previous issue date: 2013-02-27 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The purpose of this research is to discuss the literary and filmic
narratives Bufo & Spallanzani based on the theoretical and
methodological principles of narratology and intersemiotic
translation; as such, it identifies and analyzes metafiction as a
strategy of formal construction that gets established through aesthetic
resources such as parody and the detective and crime genre. We
initially offer a theoretical discussion of filmic adaptation, so as to
articulate this process with the phenomenon of intersemiotic
translation; next, we offer a theoretical investigation of metafictional
resources, among which, parody, so as to argue for the different
productions of meaning in the different sign systems. Since the
research is supported on the dialogue between literature and cinema,
the results reveal different principles of formal composition, as it
refers to metafiction, thus corroborating the specificities inherent to
each semiotic language.

January 2009 (has links)
Orientador: Karin Volobuef / Banca: Maria Lidia Lichtscheide Maretti / Banca: Hilário Antonio Amaral / Resumo: Este trabalho propõe um estudo sobre contos policiais de dois autores brasileiros: Luiz Lopes Coelho (1911-1975) e Rubem Fonseca (nasc. 1925). / Abstract: The current work proposes a study on the police short stories of two Brazilian writers: Luiz Lopes Coelho (1911-1975) and Rubem Fonseca (born in 1925). In this text, we try to understand a bit better the history and importance of the crime story in Brazil. To reach this goal, on one hand, we primarily search important traces on Luiz Lopes Coelho's work, an author whose production is in stage of reedition (A idéia de matar Belina, Ed. DBA, 2004). Coelho has based his plots on the classic recipe for the crime story as an impulse for his creativity, but his work goes further: far from merely repeating patterns, this author has built stories full of humor and sensibility, in which the crime is one element among many others that compose a rich and fine frame about human relationships. On the other hand, Rubem Fonseca is one of Brazil's most significant novel and detective short stories writer, who deals with the representation of violence throughout the cities. The analysis of both authors has allowed us to point out some of their characteristics, as well as to expose elements which demonstrate possibilities and transformations in the history of Brazilian crime story. / Mestre

The emergence and development of the Shona detective story as a fictional genre in Zimbabwean literatureChigidi, Willie L. 11 1900 (has links)
This study b·aces the development of the Shona clctective story as a genre different from rhe mainstream
Shona novel. The Shona detective story emerges from the non-detective traditional folktale and
develops into rhree types, namely, the rudimentary form. the pure 'whoduniC, and the detectivethriller.
An attempt is made to show that when the Shona detective story first appeared it was quite elementary
and showed signs of me influence of Shona traditional folklore. But later on authors developed the
detective narrative into pure 'whodunits' and detective-mrillers which showed influence of Western
ftlms and English detective stories.
The study ends with the argument that although at its highest level of development the Shona detective
story manifests characteristics that make it a unique genre different from other Shona novels its
treatment of female characters is not very different from their treatment in the mainstream Shona
novel. / African Languages / M.A. (African Languages)
