Jak kvalita lemmatizace ovlivňuje výsledky vyhledávání dokumentů v českém jazyce / Effect of the Czech Stemming Algorithm on the Document Retrieval

Pytelka, Petr January 2012 (has links)
This thesis deals with the measurement of the quality of the stemming/lemmatization algo-rithm for the Czech language in document processing systems and provides an analysis of the results. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the principles of the full-text search, the possibilities of implementation as well as the common problems which have to be solved in connection with the processing of natural language. Methods of evaluating the quality of lemmatization, using recall and precision, are discussed. In addition, the theoret-ical part covers the method of measuring the index of under-stemming and over-stemming, which can be applied for the purposes of a more detailed evaluation. An experiment for evaluating the lemmatization algorithms is proposed in the second part of the thesis. A specialized application has been developed to perform the experiment in three different systems, namely Apache Lucene, the PostgreSQL database systems and the Microsoft SQL Server. The experiment is based on the Prague Dependency Treebank cor-pus. It has been carried out both for the corpus as a whole and for selected word classes separately. Further analysis of the results for Czech stemmer in Apache Lucene leads to a proposal for several modifications of the algorithm. Such modifications result in measurable improvements. The results achieved show how metrics discussed, together with the values measured, can be used for improving the lemmatization algorithms and thus to improve the full-text search for Czech language.

Jazykový rozbor českých překladů Písně písní před Biblí kralickou / Language Analysis of Czech Translations of the Song of Songs before the Kralice Bible

Michalcová, Anna January 2021 (has links)
Up until the Kralice Bible, Old Czech biblical translations, traditionally divided into four translations, were based solely on the Latin Vulgate. This thesis examines all available Old Czech and Early Modern Czech biblical sources created before the Kralice Bible and assesses whether they contain the Song of Songs, one of the sapiental books, and if so, it attempts to identify whether the translation stems from an earlier version, or of it is a new translation. Several versions from the four Old Czech bible translations and later prints of the 16th century were then chosen as sources for representative editions of the Song. Based on those editions, a linguistic analysis of the texts was performed, oriented on phonologic, morphologic, lexical and syntactic features, which eventually yielded several tendencies in selected aspects of the linguistic development of the Czech language.

Historical Development of Czech Language Teaching for Pupils with Visual Impairment Klára Eliášková Czech Language Department Doc. PhDr. Martina Šmejkalová, Ph.D. Abstract The dissertation aims at the language education of pupils with visual impairment (VI) at high schools. Historical forming of Czech language didactics of teaching pupils with VI is analyzed in the framework of the cultural and social context of the period from 1807, when the first Institute for blinds was found in Prague at Hradčany, to a social and political milestone in 1989 with main view on the period dating from 1946 to present. Based on the suggestion from the report, attention will be paid to the present. There will be an identification of breakthroughs and positive locations (e.g. diversification of Czech language teaching in relation to individual types of VI), which would be useful in restoring our teaching practice, taking into account the current imperative of induced education. Historical research focuses on specific aspects of language education without a possibility of visual information. Methodological approaches common in linguistic and social pedagogical fields of study are combined in this purpose. The aim is to link both levels into the consistent perspective on the surveyed issue. Working out of the historical...

Komentovaný překlad vybraných povídek od Muriel Sparkové s úvodní studií o autorce, stylu povídek a problémech překladu / An annotated translation of Muriel Spark's selected short stories with an introduction to the author, the style of the short stories and their translation complexities

Tichá, Kateřina January 2019 (has links)
The thesis consists of two parts. The first, practical part presents a translation of short stories The Portobello Road (1956), The Curtain Blown by the Breeze (1961) and The Young Man Who Discovered the Secret of Life (2000) by the Scottish writer Muriel Spark. The texts represent various periods of Spark's writing career and offer a complex insight into her style and its various shades. The translation is succeeded by a study focusing on the life and work of Muriel Spark and mainly on an analysis of the key translation issues encountered in the process of translation. The key problems include the translation of Spark's specific literary language, the rendering of natural speech and the idiolects of the characters, the translation of names and other culture-specific facts. Analýza slovosledu v korpusu spontánních konverzací matek s dětmi / Word order in spontaneous conversations of mothers with children

Kohoutková, Jolana January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse word order in transitive sentences in natural production of two- and four-year old children during Czech language acquisition. The theoretical part focuses on language acquisition in general, in children in a given age period and on the acquisition of transitive sentences in children, discussed in studies carried out abroad. The results of these studies work with a thesis about a canonical word order, which is the first to emerge in child production and reception, while other types of word order might pose a problem for children with regards to interpretation. In order to be able to compare these findings with Czech language, data from an existing corpora of child conversations with their mothers were coded for the purposes of the practical part of this thesis. This data is subsequently analysed in the practical part, with the findings of these analyses implying that in spontaneous language production of Czech children, it is impossible to unambiguously track the preferences for canonical word order, as well as difficulties in adopting word order other than canonical. This thesis also brings basic descriptive information about the word order in transitive sentences both in children over time and in relation to word order that is used by their mothers. Key words...
