Sets of walls and doors separated by condominium corridors in residential buildings started having their acoustic performance evaluated when the Brazilian standard NBR 15575 came into effect, which concerns the performance of buildings. In this context, this study proposed to determine the influence of the characteristics of constructive elements – doors and corridors between residential units – on the airborne sound insulation of the set of walls and doors separated by the entrance hall. First, a pilot study was conducted based on tests performed on many buildings, but it was noted that a deeper study on the subject would be required. Thereby, three buildings were chosen and a series of acoustic performance tests was executed, covering several situations. Maneuvers for sealing door gaps were used as well, in order to assess the performance gains of the system. The results indicated loss of acoustic performance when there were more gaps between the door leaf and the floor. Moreover, relations were found regarding the reverberation time of the corridors and the distance between the entrance doors of residential units.

En bogvisirmodell : Underlag för ett PLC styrt bogvisir / A bow visor model : design material for a PLC-controlled bow visor

Turhede, Felix, Suskin, Vladimir January 2018 (has links)
Litteraturstudien resulterade i två sammanställningar. / The purpose of this paper is to present design material that can be used to build a bow visor model which is controlled by a PLC unit and can be utilized as a tool when educating students in PLC programming. A field study and a literature study have been conducted to make the bow visor model realistic. The field study has inspired the design of the bow visor model and contributed valuable insight into the workings of a bow visor. The literature study consists of two parts where one part focused on studying regulations that regulates the design of a bow visor and the other part focused on studying how two disasters that involve bow doors have impacted the regulation in the SOLAS Convention. The literature study resulted in two compilations. One compilation consists of regulations from the SOLAS Convention, the Swedish Transportation Agency and DNV-GL regulating the design of bow visors and the other compilation consists of changes in the SOLAS Conventions regulations that are a direct result of two disasters that involve bow doors. The result of the field study and the literature study have been used to develop the design material for how a bow visor model, that is controlled by a PLC unit and can be used for educational purposes, can be built.

Europos paveldo dienų istorija ir raida Lietuvoje / History and development of the european heritage days in lithuania

Okaitė, Indra 24 November 2010 (has links)
Several European countries, such as The Netherlands, Luxemburg, Malta, Belgium, the United Kingdom (Scotland) and Sweden soon set up similar events. In 1991, the Council of Europe officially launched the European Heritage Days (EHDs) with the support of the European Commission. In 1999, this initiative became a joint action of the Council of Europe and the European Commission. Throughout Europe, during the weekends of September, the European Heritage Days open the doors of numerous monuments and sites, many of them usually closed to the public, allowing Europe’s citizens to enjoy and learn about their shared cultural heritage and encouraging them to become actively involved in the safeguard and enhancement of this heritage for present and future generations. Today, the European Heritage Days can be considered an essential instrument for fostering a tangible experience of European culture and history in addition to raising the awareness of the public about the multiple values of our common heritage and the continuous need for its protection. All 49 States parties to the European Cultural Convention actively take part in the initiative and the number of annual visitors is now estimated to be around 20 million at more than 30,000 participating monuments and sites. The EHDs have succeeded in stimulating civil society’s participation, the... [to full text]

The iconography of sanctuary doors from Patmos and its place in the iconographic program of the Byzantine iconostasis /

Kellaris, Georgios January 1991 (has links)
The iconostasis is the most characteristic feature of the Orthodox Church. The metaphysical conception of the space of the church prompted its emergence, and the mystical interpretation of the Liturgy determined its evolution. These aspects were reflected in the iconographic program of the iconostasis. The sanctuary doors are the only part of the Patmian iconostases bearing figurative decoration. The study of the themes on the doors reveals an iconographic program with strong liturgical character. Furthermore, this program encompasses the entire range of the mystical symbolism pertaining to the iconostasis. The analysis indicates that the doors are instrumental in the function of the iconostasis as a liturgical device aiming at a greater unity between the earthly and the divine realms.

A Domain-Specific Language for Traceability in Modeling

Rahman, Anisur 24 July 2013 (has links)
Requirements are a key aspect of software development. Requirements are also related with other software artefacts including designs, test cases and documentation. These artefacts are often captured with specialized models. However, many tools lack support for traceability relationships between requirements artefacts and model artefacts, leading to analysis issues. To establish traceability between models and other types of requirements artefacts, this thesis proposes a new Domain-Specific Language (DSL) for describing the concepts of a modeling language that would be intended to be traced using a Requirements Management System (RMS), with tool support handling the evolution of models and of their traceability links. In the first part of this thesis, the syntax and metamodel of the Model Traceability DSL (MT-DSL) are defined, together with an editor implemented using Xtext. In the second part of the thesis, a library of import and maintenance functions is generated automatically (using Xtend) from model traceability descriptions written using MT-DSL. The target language for this library is the DOORS eXtension Language (DXL), the scripting language of a leading commercial RMS with traceability support, namely IBM Rational DOORS. The implementation has been tested successfully for importing and evolution scenarios with two different modeling languages (User Requirements Notation and Finite State Machines). This work hence contributes a reliable mechanism to define and support traceability between requirements and models.

The great amount of data generated as the result of the automation and process supervision in industry implies in two problems: a big demand of storage in discs and the difficulty in streaming this data through a telecommunications link. The lossy data compression algorithms were born in the 90?s with the goal of solving these problems and, by consequence, industries started to use those algorithms in industrial supervision systems to compress data in real time. These algorithms were projected to eliminate redundant and undesired information in a efficient and simple way. However, those algorithms parameters must be set for each process variable, becoming impracticable to configure this parameters for each variable in case of systems that monitor thousands of them. In that context, this paper propose the algorithm Adaptive Swinging Door Trending that consists in a adaptation of the Swinging Door Trending, as this main parameters are adjusted dynamically by the analysis of the signal tendencies in real time. It?s also proposed a comparative analysis of performance in lossy data compression algorithms applied on time series process variables and dynamometer cards. The algorithms used to compare were the piecewise linear and the transforms.

Historické dveře (Prakticko-teoretická práce) / Historical doors

KEMZOVÁ, Miroslava January 2010 (has links)
Subject of this diploma thesis are historical doors as an indivisible part of architecture. The main focus is on gradual discovering of their underrated artistic value and historical authenticity of these elements. The paper is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical part. The opening of the theoretical part introduces a debate on the ambivalent term ``door{\crqq} and its meaning in people{\crq}s life. I look closely at the terminology and particular basic structural types of historical door wings from the late medieval time to the end of the 19th century. All types are presented with several examples of extant doors in urban conservation area of the towns of České Budějovice and Třeboň between 1760-1900, using author drawing studies and photo documentation. In the practical part of the paper I deal with creative design of the parterre in the historical house no. 91 in the square of the town of Třeboň, which is directly linked to the prior theoretical findings. Drafts and an architectural study came out of the preliminary builder historical connections, elaborations and debates. At the same time I include an insight into parterre executions in the past years.
