Avaliação dos arcos dentários com e sem fissuras labiopalatinas em crianças de 3 a 9 meses / Evaluation of dental arches with and without cleft lip and palate in children aged 3 to 9 months

Viviane Mendes Fernandes 18 February 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to measure the dimensions of the dental arches of 3-9 month children with cleft lip and palate, before the primary surgery, and compared them with children without cleft lip and palate. The sample consisted of 223 children, divided into groups: without craniofacial deformities (G1), unilateral cleft lip (G2), unilateral cleft lip and alveolus (G3), unilateral cleft lip and palate (G4) and bilateral cleft lip and palate (5). For evaluation, impressions of the upper dental arches of the children were performed with condensation silicone. The casts underwent a process of scanning through 3D scanner and the measurements used for the correlation among groups were executed directly on the scanned images. On the images, the landmarks required to perform the evaluation measurements were determined. The results showed statistically significant differences in intercanine distance (ICD) between G1 - G4 (p = 0.000), G1 - G5 (p = 0.007), G2 - G4 (p = 0.000), G2 - G5 (p = 0.000), and G3 - G4 (p = 0.008). For the posterior arch width (PAW), the following statistically significant differences were found: between G1 - G4 (p = 0.000), G1 - G5 (p = 0.000), G2 - G4 (p = 0.000), G2 - G5 (p = 0.000), G3 - G4 (p = 0.009), and G3 - G5 (p = 0.000). The unilateral anterior cleft width (UACW) exhibited statistically significant differences between G3 and G4 (p = 0.000); the left (LACW) and right anterior cleft width (RACW) showed differences between G3 and G5 (p = 0.011 and p = 0.030). For posterior cleft width (PCW), statistically significant differences between G4 and G5 (p = 0.013) were found. Based on these results, it was found that 3-9 month cleft lip and palate children had transverse dimensions of the dental arches higher than those without cleft lip and palate, before the primary surgeries. The ICD was higher in children with unilateral cleft lip and palate and PAW was higher in children with bilateral cleft lip and palate among the groups studied. A significant increase in the ACW and PCW of the different cleft types with respect to the severity of cleft lip and / or palate was found.

Near-Salt Stratal Geometries and Implications for the Evolution of the Onion Creek Diapir Moab, UT

Cook, Ethan L. 01 April 2017 (has links)
The Onion Creek Diapir is one of many salt domes proximal to the Uncompahgre thrust front of the ancestral rockies in the Paradox Basin. It is comprised of Paradox Formation evaporites and large blocks of Honaker Trail Formation carbonates that were deformed by loading of Permian Cutler Formation progradational alluvial to fluvial fans. The history of salt movement in the Onion Creek Diapir is recorded in the near-salt strata. Large salt bodies and their adjacent mini-basins evolve conforming to a complex relationship between salt withdrawal, creating localized accommodation, and sediment deposition. Migrating mini-basin depo-centers, thinned and folded strata, and spatial facies trends reveal the relative rates of diapirism and sedimentation. The study area outcrop, north of the diapir, is divided by significant stratigraphic horizons that help define depositional periods. Six measured sections in the study area reveal higher preservation rates of fine grained floodplain deposits, typically destroyed in alluvial environments, than at locations correlating to stratigraphic levels high in the outcrop suggesting a low accommodation environment evolving into higher accommodation where stacked channel complexes are preserved. Preserved slump folding at the base of the outcrop reveals that although some salt emergence occurred in the earliest depositional period it was not significant enough to preclude sediment deposition or to divert the Cutler fluvial network and destroy floodplain facies. A 3-D digital outcrop, modeled from photogrammetric data, illustrates the development of localized accommodation, attracting fluvial channel in a near-salt, tight axial syncline during the later depositional period. These evidences suggest a greater emergence of the diapir and likely diversion of the Cutler channel complexes.

Mapa okolí jeskyně Výpustek - severní část / Map of the Vypustek Cave Surroundings - northern part

Sánthová, Zuzana January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to create map of cave Výpustek surrounding enviroment. It is going to be complementary map documentation to existing map documentation made by the other students of VUT Brno. These documentations will be joined together and create one relief covering terain above the cave. The work began with building our own traverse and measuring detailed points. The result is topographical and hypsographical determination of the locality expressed numerically and topographically too. Another task was to measure and represent some profiles of main halls and passages of the cave. Intention is to connect underground space with the surface. Surveying network of points built previously inside the cave was used for measurements.

Digital mapping of critical infrastructure : Design of a component data collection method for small-scale power grids

Rapp, Axel January 2023 (has links)
Critical infrastructures (CIs) distributing water, oil, gas, electricity, etc., to community residents and businesses, leverage cyber-physical systems (CPSs) to supervise and control the physical processes that these services entail. Over recent decades, these systems have moved to implement more modern IT-resembling solutions using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) for increased reliability, scalability, and remote connectivity. This change exposes these highly critical systems to new threats and vulnerabilities. One approach to mitigate the risks faced by these systems is to perform analysis on digital representations in the form of digital models or digital shadows of the CPSs. However, this is not a trivial task in practice. These practical issues are explored in this design science research through the development of a guidance process to perform the data collection necessary to create a static digital model of a small-scale power grid CPS in Sweden. The results show that it is possible to gather information on the CPS components through the four approaches: SCADA system exports, documentation information, CLI scripting, and network scanning. While the artefact presented in this report demonstrates these results, challenges still remain such as a lack of SCADA export tools, reaching the SCADA network with scanning tools in a responsible manner, and accessing insights into the complete documentation held by the organisations. The researcher suggests these topics for future research directions.

Closing the Loop – Integrating Processes and Operational Digital Twin Data Into the Digital Thread Graph

Kasper, Nico, Pfenning, Michael, Eigner, Martin 09 October 2024 (has links)
For manufacturers of complex interdisciplinary system solutions, the Digital Thread is an essential element that serves as the backbone of technical and organizational data flows. This study proposes a graph-based Digital Thread that integrates a Digital Model and a derived Digital Twin in a native graph database in a polyglot architecture. The approach includes dynamic processes such as advanced interdisciplinary change management and additional data from different lifecycle phases, using objects and relations described by attributes to minimize redundancy while enabling view creation and filtering. Companies often have discipline-oriented IT landscapes that create data silos and prevent contextbased integration of data and process models. The Digital Thread as a backbone represents an approach to overcome these silos as a system lifecycle-spanning system.

Studie návrhu přírodě blízkých protierozních a protipovodňových opatření v povodí Jičínky / The design study of biotechnical erosion and flood control measures in the catchment of Jičínka river

Škrabal, Tomáš January 2013 (has links)
The main subject of this diploma thesis is a study of a suggestion of environmentally friendly adjustments in the basin of Jičínka, working as preventive protection against floods. The study contains a research of the stated area using the method of CN-curves in the hydrological model DesQ-MaxQ and the principle of Wischmeier-Smith's equation, in modicication of ArcGIS programme. Based on the analysis, the work suggests an improvement of erosive and drain ratios and then an assessment of effectiveness of the protection. We get the assessment of the effectiveness by comparing the condition of the erosive wash and the surface drain before and after implementation of our measures. The work also sets its goal in calculating the financial returnability of the investition indicatively.
