Kooperation im Bereich Kultur, Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft - ein Vergleich am Beispiel von Südböhmen und Oberösterreich im Rahmen EUREGIO Bayerischer Wald Böhmerwald Unterer Inn/Mühlviertel und Europaregion Donau-Moldau / Cooperation in the field of culture, science, economy - a comparison on the example of South Bohemia and Upper Austria

ONDRÁČKOVÁ, Ivana January 2018 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the European Region Danube-Moldau, EUREGIO Bayerischer Wald Böhmerwald Unterer Inn/Mühlviertel and the cooperation of the participating partner regions in the fields of culture and tourism, science and research, universities and companies. For many years, cross-border cooperation works in all these areas. The first part of the thesis deals with the history of the Danube-Moldau region and the history of EUREGIO in general and also describes the differences between the two institutions as well as their structure. The next part describes the cooperation within the European region as well as the previous activities of companies, colleges and universities and the cultural and tourism institutions. The cooperation in each area is described in more detail in a separate chapter. The third, and thus the last part, assesses cooperation within the framework of the Danube-Moldova European Region, and only between two partner regions of Southern Bohemia and Upper Austria.

A região metropolitana de Manaus e as migrações pendulares / The metropolitan region of Manaus commuting and migration

Alexandre Ricardo von Ehnert 06 March 2012 (has links)
This research has as objective Analyze the processes of commuting recorded between the municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of Manaus. This is why we will understand how the process of constitution of the region, as well as the relation of its creation with the logic of creation of Metropolitan regions in Brazil. Two of its characteristics that place in a situation of difference, it is, in principle, its size, 101.475 Km², and its distribution, given in an area of features predominantly rural, forestry and without conurbation, where the closest city to the center of the city Manaus is the Careiro da Varzea, 22 Km away and the more distant is the Itacoatiara with 177 km, both by straight line, being that first binds to the capital only through boats, and the second through road. The Metropolitan Region of Manaus is presented as an archipelago where Manaus can be understood as the result of an urbanization macrocephalic, with a population almost 20 times higher than the second municipalities, Itacoatiara, and more than a hundred times the smaller the population, Careiro da Varzea, Being that these municipalities are presented as a result of urbanization is still insipient, presenting many rural characteristics. Front of the that we seek to quantify and qualify the flows of workers and students daily, observed between the municipalities, with the emphasis of analysis the municipalities with the highest propensity for integration with the city of Manaus, Careiro da Várzea and Iranduba, because they are the ones that are separated of the capital only for watercourse. Between Manaus and Iranduba specifically we will examine how the construction of the Bridge over the Rio Negro will enable the process of accelerated urbanization in Iranduba, as well as speculation generated by real estate capital of the municipality. Because of that we seek to understand what is the role of the public Power, In the model of development that is expected for the region.

Wealth and power in Yayoi Period Northern Kyushu

Stark, Ken January 1989 (has links)
This thesis is concerned with the analysis of grave goods, from Yayoi period cemetery sites in northern Kyushu, to test for the presence of status rivalry and competition between leaders of different . communities. The study consists of a test of two major hypotheses that were derived from a model that links economic and political success of chiefs with wealth display and the mortuary ritual. Hypothesis 1 stated that status rivalry was present in the development of social ranking within communities in northern Kyushu. The key pattern in this case is that change in political authority is indicated by change in patterns of wealth distribution and display. Since there was a trend toward a lack of change in the number of separate wealth rank levels among burials, meaning a lack of change in patterns of wealth distribution, the analysis results disproved Hypothesis 1. Hypothesis 2 stated that status rivalry and competition ensured short-term political success and fluctuations in patterns of wealth distribution between sites in a regional exchange hierarchy. As a result, major structural changes occurred in the organization of the existing wealth exchange network. Since the analysis revealed that regions with the most developed hierarchy experienced the greatest upheaval and change in organizational structure, Hypothesis 2 was not disproven. Overall, the results show that structural change in wealth exchange systems occurred on a regional scale more than change in internal rank ordering and wealth control within sites. If wealth possession was an indicator of power, political control in Yayoi period northern Kyushu was of a very precarious nature. / Arts, Faculty of / Anthropology, Department of / Graduate

Deformational history, stratigraphic correlations and geochemistry of eastern Quesnel terrane rocks in the Crooked Lake area, east central British Columbia, Canada

Bloodgood, Mary Anne January 1987 (has links)
The Eureka Peak are lies within the Quesnel terrane of the Intermontane Belt, adjacent to the Omineca Belt - Intermontane Belt tectonic boundary. It represents a convergent zone between the arc related Quesnel terrane and parautochthonous Barkerville terrane. The terrane boundary is defined by the Eureka thrust Underlying the area are middle Triassic to early Jurassic sedimentary and volcanic rocks, represented by the Quesnel River Group and Takla Group, respectively. Petrologic and geochemical studies of the Takla Group volcanics suggest protoliths of island arc and marginal basin affinities. The Quesnel terrane structurally overlies Hadrynian to early Paleozoic metasediments of the Snowshoe Group (Barkerville terrane). The base of the Quesnel terrane is marked by mylonitized mafic and ultramafic rocks of the Crooked Amphibolite. Correlation of features across the plate boundary has established the structural continuity in the region, and recognition of structural phases common to both terranes which developed in response to plate convergence. The deformational history involves two phases of coaxial folding of a mechanically heterogeneous lithologic sequence, accompanied by extensive pressure solution, and later overprinting by NW trending extensional fractures. Synchronous to F₁, detachment surfaces developed along major stratigraphic contacts due to contrasting Theologies of adjacent lithologies. Second phase deformation established the regional map pattern, folding the detachment surfaces and the tectonic boundary. Synchronous to deformation, regional metamorphism is evidenced by the growth of minerals characteristic of amphibolite fades in the Barkerville terrane, and greenschist fades in the Quesnel terrane. Dissipation of heat from the underlying sequences is suggested by the rapid transition in metamorphic grade observed across the boundary. Cleavage surfaces have acted as a locus along which pressure solution has occurred, providing a pathway for the escape of fluids generated during metamorphism. Deposition of material within extensional fractures occurred throughout the deformational history. Fracturing is prominent adjacent to the Quesnel River Group and Takla Group contact, where the viscosity contrast between the two lithologies provided an effective barrier to extensive fluid flow. Concentration of fluids along the contact may have had a buoying effect on the volcanics, allowing furter eastward translation during deformation. / Science, Faculty of / Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, Department of / Graduate
