From HR to AI-R : Navigating Attitudes Towards the Future of Recruitment

Pettersson, Julia, Wexén, Sandra January 2023 (has links)
Artificial intelligence has recently gained an increased amount of attention, both in general and in recruitment. The recruitment process has for a long time been dependent on the human touch, but lately AI has been argued as the “future of hiring”. This thesis investigates how candidates’ and recruiters’ attitudes influence the transition towards using artificial intelligence within the recruitment process. The purpose is to gain a wider understanding, and by providing that knowledge, prepare for the future that lays ahead. The thesis takes on a global approach, and the investigation is conducted in a qualitative manner using an exploratory approach. Attitudes are investigated based on the different elements; AI readiness, bias, personal characteristics, adoption stage of technology, field of study, gender, age, country of origin, level of control, and language barriers. The key findings state how candidates in general have a more negative attitude towards artificial intelligence as a part of the recruitment process, compared to the recruiters, where the main elements influencing attitudes were personal characteristics, level of control and AI readiness. Concluding that attitudes influence the transition towards AI based recruitment tools by slowing down the process due to existing resistance. Regarding the future, recruiters believe that AI will play a great role, indicating that our findings are of great importance.

Assessment of retention trends in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to determine possible internal recruitment efforts for poultry science departments and enhance university retention

Taylor, Peyton Alyssa 13 May 2022 (has links) (PDF)
With only six poultry degree granting universities, producing a slim number of graduates each year, poses a challenge for the industry. There may be potential areas for internal recruitment within Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). In study 1, an evaluation of Mississippi State University’s CALS retention trends determined that Biochemistry (BCH) and Animal Science (AS) have the lowest retention rates. Study 2 compared all six poultry degree granting universities’ CALS retention rates, with AS continuously having one of the lowest retention rates. Lastly, Study 3 surveyed undergraduates, advisors, and faculty showing students having an interest in poultry while advisors and faculty were hesitant in exposing students to opportunities within poultry. Results from these studies unveiled a new population of students for departments within CALS to recruit from, specifically poultry, to potentially increase CALS and university retention rates, thus possibly providing the poultry industry with more qualified employees.

Universitetsexamen eller arbetslivserfarenhet : Vad premieras inom hotellbranschen?

Sosic, S, Mörlin, C, Olsson, A-L, Lindgren, R. January 2013 (has links)
B-uppsatser

Huckabee, William Bedell January 1962 (has links)
Thesis (M.S.)--Boston University / The films studied were directed toward two age groups. The first, "Footsteps of the Pioneers" for elementary and junior high school boys (Boy Scout age) and the second, "This is Exploring" for high school students. Purpose. The purpose of the study was, first to measure the effectiveness of the films in communicating knowledge about and attitudes toward the two Scouting programs and secondly, to develop a simple but accurate measuring devise for use in evaluating films of this type. Data Collection. Research was carried out with boys of the recruitment ages in several public school systems throughout Monmouth County in New Jersey, under the auspices of the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America (Research Service) with the cooperation of the Monmouth Council of Oakhurst, New Jersey and the academic direction of the department of Public Relations at the School of Public Relations and Communications of Boston University [TRUNCATED]
