Marquez, Janaina January 2017 (has links)
The present study aims to answer the research question: how can Mathematical Modeling contribute as a way for the learner to be the protagonist of their learning by aspiring to their autonomy? The research presents a task sequence proposal in a mathematical modeling-learning environment, divided into three parts. Such parts are the invitation to perform modeling, an experience with water theme, and an experiment with a theme of free student’s choice. The study was developed during the second semester of 2016, with a third year High School class from a municipal school in Sapucaia do Sul, at regular school hours. Based on the theory of Mathematical Modeling in a Socio-critical perspective of Barbosa (2001), elaboration of questions in an environment of Mathematical Modeling of Sant'Ana and Sant'Ana (2009) and in the pedagogy of autonomy of Paulo Freire (1996), and using the case study as a methodology, the present study showed that students can be active in the construction of their knowledge. In addition, it was noticed that, when it is offered an environment of freedom and consideration, respecting their choices, students will assume their responsibility for their learning, gradually building their preferences, their choices and their autonomy.

Elaboração laboratorial padrão em anatomia animal e técnicas anatômicas / Preparation of standard animal anatomy laboratory and anatomical techniques

Fabio Sergio Cury 17 December 2012 (has links)
Laboratory courses have great scientific importance to education, the current modernity with innovative ideas and technology offered whole is becoming more and more laboratories, leading us to a significant development in the academic and in student learning. The concern about the anatomical specimens preservation exist for over 5000 years, because the natural corpse pieces are indispensable for teaching that contribute in improving learning practical skills applicative, assimilative and understanding of the discipline. This paper proposes the use of automation in anatomy laboratories, with all necessary planning regarding disposal of substances, and exhaust ventilation, monitors above the countertops with virtual atlas and internet access, pulleys to transport large animals and use of alternatives anatomical techniques to abolish the formaldehyde as a preservative parts of study, providing a more pleasant environment in facilitating student learning and the work of the employees. For the execution of anatomical techniques were used dogs and cats from veterinary clinics, which they entered in death were donated by their owners to signing the donation being drafted totaled four dogs and one cat. We also used some old organs of animal anatomy lab of the Department of Basic Sciences FZEA / USP located in Pirassununga who had no role in more practical lessons, being provided by the department head via a signed for the same term, and these pieces specifically: a tongue, kidney, heart and brain of veal, two stomachs, one kidney and a spleen of horse and a pig stomach. The four anatomical techniques advocated in this work proved to be sufficient to meet the needs of students and the study of anatomy, showing a perfect disclosure of external and internal structures of animals. The laboratory plan was executed with the help of AutoCAD and SketchUp programs, which enable the development of technical drawing in two dimensions (2D) and three-dimensional modeling.

Bevilaqua, Gabriela Mantovanelli January 2020 (has links)
Abstract: For some years now, the approach to teaching mother tongue, more specifically grammar, has been a real challenge and has become the subject of reflections, debates and qualitative research. The objective of this research is to investigate how the domain processes of discourse genres WhatsApp, Formal Letter and Journalistic News occur as cultural tools in the classroom used by high school students, in the light of the perspectives of James Wertsch's Mediated Action Theory. The data were collected through audio and video recordings and activities written in a private school in São José do Rio Preto/SP. The analysis of the data allows us to observe that the categories Uncertainty and Formality help us not only in the investigation of how the processes of mastery of a cultural tool occur, but also if the agent already masters the tool. We observed that the more students exercise a cultural tool, the greater their mastery over it. In contrast, using only the same tool may end up not helping the agent to use others. The teacher's intervention also plays an important role in the process of mastering cultural tools. The mastery of the cultural tool contributes to the student's teaching-learning process and is closely correlated with the elaboration of meanings. / Mestre

Nonprofit Advertising and Behavioral Intention: the Effects of Persuasive Messages on Donation and Volunteerism

Van Steenburg, Eric 08 1900 (has links)
Nonprofit organizations are dependent on donations and volunteers to remain operational. Most rely on persuasive communications to inform, educate, and convince recipients of their messaging to respond in order to raise funds and generate volunteers. Though the marketing and psychology literature has examined charitable giving and volunteerism, the effectiveness of persuasive messages to affect philanthropy, gift-giving, and fundraising is a gap in the cause marketing literature (Dann et al. 2007). Because consumers rarely enter a situation without preexisting attitudes or beliefs, it is expected that individuals exposed to an advertisement by a nonprofit organization will look for ways to compare the messages within the ad to their own beliefs and attitudes. Two theories help explain the processing that takes place in relation to attitudes, beliefs, and persuasive communications – elaboration likelihood model (ELM) and the theory of planned behavior (TPB). The research presented here combines these theories to answer questions regarding behavioral intention related to donating and volunteering when individuals are exposed to certain persuasive messages from a nonprofit organization. Results show that one’s involvement with the advertisement combines with one’s attitude toward donating to help determine propensity to donate and the amount of the donation. However, this is dependent upon the message in the ad. When messages indicate that others are supportive of the cause, donations increase when one is more involved with the ad and is generally agreeable to donating. But these messages have the opposite effect when one is not involved with the ad – donations decrease when the message indicates others support the cause. And when messages indicate that even a minimal donation is possible, the attitude driver has no effect on donation behavior. However, when involvement is low, one’s age plays a role in driving individuals toward action, with older people more driven to give when exposed to supportive messages under low involvement conditions than younger groups. For individuals who tend to rely on referents for their own actions, differing messages in advertisements have little effect whether they are involved with the ad or not. That is, in most cases, only their involvement with the ad seems to be the real indicator of behavior. That said, the message that indicates that minimum giving is acceptable seems to affect donations, as individuals more prone to seek referent input rely on this message to help direct behavior, but not volunteerism. But, the cues were more readily adopted by those who were not highly involved. This research contributes to the field of cause marketing in several ways. First, it exposed involvement with the advertisement as the primary driver for behavioral intention in a nonprofit context over one’s preexisting attitudes and beliefs. Second, it identified varying response patterns that individuals have to specific advertising messages based on their level of involvement and strength of those beliefs and attitudes. Third, it augmented the integrated ELM-TPB theoretical model by demonstrating that attitude toward the ad can play a role in consumer decision making. Fourth, it identified age as a factor in behavioral intention related to nonprofit organizations in two specific instances: 1) when attitude and involvement combine for older individuals exposed to normative messages, and 2) when subjective norms and involvement combine for younger individuals exposed to messages that legitimize minimal effort. And fifth, it uncovered implications for managers to develop strategic messages that can increase target audience involvement and positively affect donations and volunteerism.

Drodger, Befraw, Lundberg, Sara January 2023 (has links)
