Using TAM to Examine Faculty Perceptions of Online Learning at Technical Colleges in South Georgia

Sumter, La'Quata 05 1900 (has links)
The technology acceptance model (TAM) was used in this study to evaluate the faculty's perceptions of online learning. This study adopted a deductive approach that involved a move from theory formulation to data gathering. This study utilized a descriptive, correlational design to describe the study variables, which included the participants'' perceptions and attitudes. Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of technology have statistically significant correlations with technology competence levels of technical college faculty members, influencing their behavioral intentions to use online learning. Specific strategies that bolster perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of technology in learning should be prioritized. These strategies include improving technological infrastructure, offering technology competency training, instituting facilitative technology use policies, and improving teacher-student motivation to use technology in learning.

Factors That Affect Consumer Behavior Towards Streaming and TV Services

Weber Pedersen, Stephanie, Juhlin, Julia January 2021 (has links)
Research questions:          RQ 1: What factors affect consumer behavior regarding streaming   services or TV-services? RQ 2: How do the factors affect consumers behavior when it comes to buying, continuing, substituting or ending a streaming service or TV-service?   Purpose:             We aim to discuss the underlying reasons, or factors as to  why consumers buy, substitute, continue or end subscriptions to   traditional TV, streaming services, or both mediums. We aim to use   focus groups to see if factors earlier quantifically studied can be   identified and supported qualitatively. This study will add to the   variability of the issue of streaming services versus traditional TV with   an in-depth view using a qualitative study on a Swedish sample.  Method:               A qualitative research method as well as a data driven content analysis   was chosen for this study. The data was collected by interviewing three   focus groups. Conclusion:       Cost was an important factor and was applicable in all factors and  behaviors. Cost was not a top priority for the informants unless the   increase was drastic. Range of content and specific content was a top  deciding factor for most behaviors, convenience was strongly   connected to continuing a service. Habit was a strong factor in   relation to continuing, technology was an important aspect   when it comes to usage. Other factors, such as bundling, leeching,   social components, free trial period or triggers are also significant,   however not deciding factors.

Precision Livestock Farming : A study on ease of use and usefulness / Precision Livestock Farming : En studie på användarvänlighet och användbarhet

Behnam, Jalal, Boujrad, Ayoub January 2019 (has links)
Livestock farms have recently experienced a significant growth in their size and this is due to the increase in animal products. This has a technical impact on farmers' daily activities. As there are more animals, it becomes more difficult for the farmers to monitor, take care of and ensure the animals are treated in a healthy manner. The purpose of this study is to examine how farmers are affected by the use of the Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) systems and how they have come to accept the technology. The study will take up an important aspect of the impact and effect of PLF. The aim of the study is to find out how farmers are affected by PLF systems in regard to Ease of Use (EOU) and Usefulness. A total of five semi-structured interviews consisting of two researchers, one product advisor, one support worker and one farmer were conducted. An observation was also conducted along with the farmer and support worker. During the interviews, the participants answered our questions regarding PLF and its EOU and Usefulness. The data was analyzed using a thematic analysis and the results showed that PLF systems are important and useful but need further EOU development. Furthermore, the results showed that the poorly designed user interfaces impact the farmers’ attitude and intention towards using the system, which also affects their attitude towards the Usefulness of the PLF systems. The research confirms the importance of including farmers under the development phase of PLF systems. Lastly, this research might be the foundation for further research on how to improve and develop a more user-friendly PLF system.

Vuxna patienters erfarenheter av metoder för att lindra smärta och rädsla i samband med venpunktion : en icke-systematisk litteraturöversikt / Adult patients’ experiences of methods to relieve pain and ease fear associated with venipuncture : a non-systematic literature review

Lindberg, Matilda, Wenger, Sara January 2024 (has links)
Metod Femton vetenskapliga artiklar inkluderades i denna icke-systematiska litteraturöversikt. / Background Venipuncture, collecting blood sample and peripheral venous catheters, are common procedures in healthcare. The procedures can cause both pain and fear in the patient. This should primarily be met with psychological care and in addition to that there are bothpharmacological and non-pharmacological methods for relieving pain and fear. The nurse plays an important role in identifying and meeting the patient's individual needs in partnership with the patient. Aim The aim was to describe adult patients' experiences of methods to relieve pain and ease fear while undergoing venipuncture.  Method Fifteen scientific articles were included in this non-systematic literature review. By usingrelevant keywords, these articles were found in PubMed and CINAHL. The selected scientific articles were then quality checked by using Sophiahemmet University's assessment basis. In the results the articles were compiled based on an integrated analysis model under two main headings: Experiences of pain relief associated with venipunctureand Experiences of fear, anxiety and levels of anxiety associated with venipuncture. Results The results described what experiences the participants from the various studies had, whileusing the pain relieving and fear easing methods. Experiences of the pain-relieving effect were mostly good, with a few exceptions. Methods to ease fear were fewer. All studiesincluded, showed in some form, results of reduced pain or fear. Conclusions The need for pain relief and methods to ease fear, anxiety and levels of anxiety during venipuncture is seen in adult patients. There are several methods that have proven to be efficient in relieving pain and easing fear associated with venipuncture. In all studies included in the results, the participants had, to some extent, good experiences with the methods examined. Good experiences with pain relieving methods were seen in the majority of the studies. Some methods were better suited as anxiety reducing and anxiety relieving methods before and during venipuncture. The nurse's treatment was also important for the patient's experience and a connection between good treatment and reduced pain experience was seen.

The Relationship between Unemployment and Entrepreneurship: Exploring the Mediating Effects of Ease of Doing Business and Digital Infrastructure : Quantitative research on the relationship between unemployment rates and entrepreneurial activity

Droogh, Piet-Hein January 2024 (has links)
Background: Unemployment increases the risk of income loss, lower wages upon reemployment, and adverse effects on mental and physical health, particularly for individuals of lower socioeconomic status. Long-term unemployment doubles the risk of mental illness and physical conditions such as heart attacks and strokes. Job loss can also lead to social isolation, as work is crucial to social engagement and status. Entrepreneurship is a solution to unemployment, fostering economic growth, innovation, and industry diversification. Purpose: This study examines how external enablers, specifically the Ease of Doing Business and digital infrastructure, influence the relationship between unemployment and the creation of new businesses. The research aims to understand how the external environment shapes entrepreneurial decisions among the unemployed by focusing on these factors. Insights from this study can inform policymakers of the importance of creating supportive conditions for entrepreneurship to address unemployment and promote economic growth.      Method: This quantitative study employs mediation analysis based on Baron and Kenny's (1986) method to investigate the potential mediating effects of Ease of Doing Business and digital infrastructure on the relationship between unemployment and new business creation. The analysis involves multiple regression to test if there is a relationship between various indirect variables and a dependent variable. Conclusion: The results indicate a negative correlation between unemployment and new business registered. The study also highlights the significant mediating effect of the Ease of Doing Business on this relationship, emphasizing the importance of strengthening a supportive business environment to encourage entrepreneurial initiatives among the unemployed. However, the study finds limited evidence supporting digital infrastructure as a mediator, suggesting a need for continued investment in this area for broader economic development. Policymakers are urged to prioritize reforms that simplify business processes and create supportive ecosystems to facilitate entrepreneurship and drive sustained economic growth.
