Systematiskt miljöarbete i textilbranschen

Rydenstrand, Sara January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate how companies in the textile industry systematically are working with environmental issues, e.g. ISO14001. The most significant environmental aspects in the textile industry are water and chemical use. Environmental management systems are based on target management to be able to work with environmental issues in a standardized and structured way. Nevertheless, a certification do not tell if a company are sustainable or not, only that they are working with improvements. A survey was prepared and distributed by TEKO for the members within the environmental group. The same survey was also sent to a fashion store who after the survey was interviewed. The 14 responses received from the survey were further analyzed. The result showed that 57% were certified with ISO14001, 64% considered ISO14001 as relevant to the industry, 79% considered work with product labels as not enough environmental work. OEKO-TEX were the most common product label to use. Consumers can be confused by the number of different product labels that exist on the market and therefore a label that applies to all textile are requested. One company collected textile waste, moreover, the result showed no trend whether the municipality or the producers should be responsible for the collecting. To sort textile waste separately gain environmental benefits and has also become a goal set by the EU. At the same time, the demands are increasing in production countries as a result of the population becoming more aware of pollution in air and water.

Analýza ecolabellingu v České republice / Analysis of ecolabelling in the Czech Republic

Kubátová, Lucie January 2016 (has links)
Ecolabelling is concept that means eco-labeling, and even here in the Czech Republic, with it becoming more and more. The main task of eco-labeling is to draw attention to the products or services that are environmentally friendly to the environment. This is done mainly through certified brands. In the Czech Republic there is a large number, the most famous is Environmentally friendly product. Thesis acquaints with selected ecological brands. Recently, there is a large development of environmental labeling react to that company and try to regulate their production in the right direction. Ecolabelling is a green marketing tool, whose main objective is to achieve efficiency organic way. Therefore, companies create green strategy that attracted customers and build such an ecological image. The main objective is to introduce ecolabelling, a comparison of selected Czech, European and global eco-label. It is also important to highlight the abuse of so-called eco-labeling. Greenwashing.

Daylight optimization versus energy consumption for NordicEcolabelling of a residential building

Muhhuku, Sandra Nabeka January 2021 (has links)
This project, in collaboration with The Nordic Swan Ecolabel, deals with optimization of daylighting as well energy usage within a residential building for the purposes of Nordic ecolabelling/certification. One of the main purposes of this study is to understand the fundamentals of daylighting and to explore commonly used methods of daylight optimization and how these affect the energy consumption of the building. The other purpose of this study entails a comprehensive study of the evolution of daylight regulations within the Swedish building standard. In order to achieve the above intended aims of the project, a literature review was done on the fundamentals of daylighting as well as a review of the Swedish building standard. In order to evaluate the daylight optimization methods and how they affect energy usage, a mathematical model of a residential building was used within IDA ICE software. The simulated model was built based on certain requirements by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.Due to time limitations, the study was focused on simulation of metric of daylight factor, and this limited the scope of the study. More realistic simulations with regards to control signals for internal shading were not possible within IDA ICE software. Therefore, simulations were done for only two extremes, that is, always drawn window blinds and never drawn. The window size, presence, and type of internal blinds as well as light transmittance affected both the average daylight factor as well energy consumption the most. The use of large windows with venetian blinds and light transmittance of 0.71 were the best alternatives for both average daylight factor and energy use. Increase in window size increased both the average daylight factor as well as the operational energy used within the building.

Účinnost dobrovolných nástrojů ochrany životního prostředí na příkladu environmentálního označování výrobků / The effectiveness of voluntary instruments of environmental protection as an example of eco-labelling

Doubková, Monika January 2011 (has links)
The aim of the Thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of voluntary instruments of environmental protection as an example of eco-labelling and to verify the hypothesis whether eco-labelling is an appropriate instrument to influence consumption and production of environmentally friendly products and services. Based on the characteristics of voluntary instruments of environmental protection this work defines the types of environmental labelling and evaluates under what conditions can be eco-labelling systems, both economically and environmentally, efficient. Focusing primarily on Type I environmental labelling on the basis of summaries of works already carried out, my Thesis studies and evaluates the importance and impact of this tool for consumers, businesses and the environment. The next part of the work is focused on the issue of environmentally preferable purchasing and green public procurement, mainly at the level of the Czech Republic. The practical part verifies the hypothesis about the effectiveness of eco-labelling for example, the National Programme for Labelling Environmentally friendly products and services of the Czech Republic and European Union eco-labelling system. The method of sample survey was conducted and analyzed to what extent these systems are successful at eco-labelling. The survey was conducted among consumers and users of eco-labelling - in the companies involved in the aforementioned eco-labelling systems. The survey was supplemented by the views of experts from the field and has been evaluated by their expert view on these voluntary instruments.

Miljömärkning av små logiverksamheter : Varför och varför inte?

Bois, Ida January 2015 (has links)
The tourism industry is growing which means an increased impact on the environment and an increased resource use. At the same time a healthy environment is of significant importance for many operators within the tourism industry. Many lodging operations want to put on display that they are responsible and that they are doing improvements to decrease their environmental impact. A number of ecolabels are available to help them do so. The purpose of this study is to learn the motives behind why small lodging operations in Sweden choose to put an ecolabel on their companies, or the motives behind why they choose not to. The study also includes research about what ecolabel opportunities small lodging operations in Sweden have and what they mean. The study is based on qualitative research interviews and literature studies. The respondents are six small lodging operations. One Bed & Breakfast, two hotels, one hostel and two guesthouses. Three of the companies are ecolabelled, the other three are not. Ecolabels that are focused on in the study are Svanen (Nordic Ecolabel), Green Key, EU-blomman (EU Eco label) and Naturens Bästa (Nature's Best). The study shows that an ecolabel works as both a marketing tool and an environmental management system for lodging operations. The study also indicates that reasons to get an ecolabel are marketing gains, better track of the environmental work, new ideas and personal commitment. Motives behind not putting an ecolabel on the lodging operation have in the study shown to be the cost, expenditure of time and unawareness of the ecolabel opportunities. It has also been mentioned that the ecolabels are not always suitable for the smaller lodging operations. The respondents considers that an ecolabel has meant or would mean a small or no decrease of the environmental impact of their lodging operation. No conclusion has been reached regarding ecolabels effect on lodging operations' environmental impact.

Ärlighet varar längst : Miljömärkningar och grön marknadsföring på livsmedelsförpackningar ur ett konsumentperspektiv / Honesty is the best policy : Ecolabelling and green marketing on food packaging from a consumer perspective

Isaksson, Elin January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate and gain a better understanding of the consumer's point of view of visual sustainability communication with a primary focus on eco-labels on food products. The study will further look into if an environmentally conscious consumer has the ability to make sustainable choices with the guidance of food packaging information. The aim of this study was to answer the question through a questionnaire survey and in further in-depth interviews with comparative visual analysis material of food packaging: Does an environmentally conscious consumer have the ability to make sustainable choices with the support of food packaging information? Based on data collected from the survey and the interviews there are many pitfalls for the consumer when choosing sustainable products because of a number of heuristics that are taken into account. Price and brand still play a big role in purchasing decisions. However, this study showed that there is a desire to act more sustainably. It also showed that there is a need for a new perspective of sustainability and how it is presented on food products. Eco-labels are of great importance, but as for the conclusion: the consumer needs more information to know whether sustainability claims are true or not.
