Prof. Dr. Ahmet OK June 2008, 137 Pages The purpose of the present study is to investigate the prospective English teachers&rsquo / views on the physical environment, human resources, and program of their departments. Participants of the study were 278 fourth year prospective English teachers (senior students) from three public universities in Ankara. A fifty-six-item questionnaire, developed by the researcher and subjected to factor and reliability analysis, was used for data collection. Data were collected from all fourth year prospective teachers. Statistical program, SPSS, was utilized to carry out the descriptive statistical analyses. Responses to open-ended question were qualitatively analyzed. The results of the study revealed that the prospective English teachers agreed on the views that the instructors in their departments were qualified and competent / the physical environment as regards to meeting their basic needs, such as heating and safety, was satisfying / and the program and courses were generally adequate. On the other hand, from the students&rsquo / viewpoints, the institutions had common problems on the three dimensions, especially on the physical environment and resources. The students disagreed on the presence of language laboratory, the existence of social areas, guidance provided by the instructors, and the administration&rsquo / s support and attitude to the preparation of prospective English teachers. In conclusion, the results of this study can contribute to efforts on displaying the current status of the departments and evaluating the quality of the English language teacher education.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi obter um recorte da realidade ambiental do locus da pesquisa, detectar indicadores pedagógicos para o trabalho com a Educação Ambiental; a partir de reflexões das ações individuais vividas e experienciadas por essas professoras no cotidiano escolar; refletir sobre o processo histórico de implantação da educação nos ambientes destas comunidades, como fonte reveladora de saberes ambientais. Uma proposta que abre espaços para novas abordagens e descoberta de novos fatos ou dados nas diversas áreas do conhecimento, em especial às relacionadas com as questões do meio ambiente. / This study is the result of the challenge of resources provided by the Oral History Method, which we used for the building of new knowledge, supported by new methodological approaches, gathering systematic reflective and critical procedures, allowing greater safety and saving in the range of valid knowledge and true. This is a qualitative research, based on the Oral History of Life and constructed from open oral interviews, provided by the retired teachers of the elementary schools of the municipal school of Cáceres, the locations of Caiçara, Porto Limão and João José: Emídia de Souza Pinheiro, Feliciana Torres Cunha, Severiana Soares de Oliveira, respectively. Aiming the opportunity to get a cutting of the environmental reality of the locus of research, detecting teaching indicators for the work with the Environmental Education, as a reflection of individual actions lived and experienced by these teachers at school, and the possibility of an even higher understanding in the field of education and the environment for other research. The choice of collaborating teachers was due to the age criterion and the location of schools in different strategic points of the wetlands. The interviews were conducted after several meetings with teachers, tape-recorded and subsequently implemented in the form of texts. It is a record of experiences as riparian teachers, with the intention to know their life trajectories and revealing as a source of environmental knowledge. This research aims to offer the academy a reflection on the value of methodological techniques based on orality to be used as another brick in the wall construction of science. A proposal that opens the way for new approaches and discovery of new facts or data in various areas of knowledge, especially those related to environmental issues.

The conception of tradition knowledge (ALMEIDA, 2001c) corresponds to a diversity of knowledgement, of men and women, constructed from heteroclite elements of the geographic way, making use of analogies and homologies which serves as the base for this scientific inquiry. These knowledge are extremely related the context where these people are inserted. To construct an ecology of complex base is to understand that the reality is not given previously, and that its construction assumes indissociability among the elements that composes it, that is, between nature and society, material and immaterial elements. To incorporate the disorder, the uncertainty, the unpredictable and the auto-echo-organization as guide principles of a new ecology, constitutes in a new vision of the biological science and the scientific ecology in direction to a science of complexity. The work focuses the ecological knowledge of the Piat? lagoon, municipality of A?u, in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, having as interlocutor of this boarding Mr. Francisco Lucas da Silva (known in the local as Chico Lucas), fisherman and agriculturist, who was born, and lives until today, in the community of Areia Branca, around the lagoon. Having for base the method as strategy (MORIN, 2001a), the research construction was performed through the realization of more than 10 trips carried out between the years of 2005 and 2007. In these trips the ecological aspects of the environments such as, the flora and the fauna, as well as the environmental impacts on the lagoon, were obtained in recorded dialogues and interviews with Chico Lucas, which were later transcripts. The information from there showed a natural and social complex reality, little known by Cartesian science, since it brings a wealth of details of daily life full, over all, for tradition knowing of the people that had lived there and the ones who remain living there. The thesis looks to understand the strategies of thought and the knowledge production referring to traditional knowing and its ability of interchange between different cognitive operators. The ecological knowledge that emerges of these knows reveals a systemic perception of the environment, presenting the beings and phenomena in its peculiarities and its degrees of complexity, but immutable in its indissociability / Esta tese objetiva sistematizar e discutir o conhecimento ecol?gico constru?do por meio de saberes da tradi??o com base numa ecologia complexa (MORIN, 2002b). The articulation of the various areas of knowledge here used sociology, psychology, anthropology and environmental education research, has allowed us to capture by different prisms theoretical construction of the symbolic world formed collectively about the relationship between humans and animals. Takes up here as a condition for the idea that the conceptions, meanings, worldviews, express a cultural vision that will serve as the way people think and act in relation to Amazon wild animals of reality. Each culture sees and sorts the animals differently, based on customs of each social group. And within this process of constructing dialectics between education, thought by us as a social practice that plays a crucial role in the formation of citizens aware of their rights and duties. Constitutes itself as a goal of this work analyzing the meanings of the relationship between humans and animals with the purpose of being a knowledge base to new pedagogical practices. Participated in this study 108 (one hundred and eight) elementary school students (5 ° to 9 ° year); 5 (five) teachers and 1 (a) qualified educationist. The data were constructed from analyses of questionnaires and interviews conducted in groups. Participants reported knowing 88 (eighty-eight) different types of animals, showing a utilitarian vision based on design anthropocentric in which animals are still being elements of nature at the service of people is for food, or as ecological functions and affective for humans. The majority of knowledge about animals in first level through television, then in the family environment and last level at school. Students found limited issues addressed in the environmental school on the subject; and science discipline was the most cited as the most deals with issues about the environment are further discussed in anniversaries. It is concluded that it is necessary to provide opportunities to change perceptions of teens, extending these concepts for a broad perception, independent and conscious of the world that students fall. / Este trabalho constitui-se em uma pesquisa sobre os significados da fauna amazônica para estudantes do ensino fundamental de duas escolas públicas de Manaus/Am. A articulação das diversas áreas do saber aqui utilizadas da sociologia, psicologia, antropologia e educação ambiental para a investigação, permitiram-nos captar por diferentes prismas teóricos a construção do mundo simbólico constituídos coletivamente sobre a relação entre humanos e animais. Toma-se aqui como pressuposto a idéia de que as concepções, significados, as visões de mundo, expressam uma visão cultural que irá constituir a forma das pessoas pensarem e agirem em relação aos animais da realidade amazônica. Cada cultura encara e classifica os animais de maneira diferente, fundamenta-se em costumes de cada grupo social. E dentro desse processo de construção dialética entra a educação, pensada por nós como uma prática social que tem um papel fundamental na formação de cidadãos conscientes de seus direitos e deveres. Constitui-se como objetivo deste trabalho analisar os significados da relação entre humanos e animais com o propósito de ser uma base de conhecimento para novas práticas pedagógicas. Participaram desse estudo 108 (cento e oito) alunos do ensino fundamental (5° ao 9° ano) e 5 (cinco) professores. Os dados foram construídos a partir de análises de questionários e de entrevistas realizadas em grupos. Os participantes relataram conhecer 88 (oitenta e oito) tipos diferentes de animais mostrando uma visão utilitarista com base em concepção antropocêntrica, na qual os animais ainda continuam sendo elementos da natureza a serviço das pessoas, seja para alimentação, ou como funções ecológicas e afetivas para os humanos. A maioria do conhecimento sobre os animais se deu em primeiro nível por meio da televisão, em seguida no meio familiar e em último nível na escola. Os alunos consideraram limitados os assuntos abordados na escola sobre a temática ambiental; sendo que a disciplina de Ciências foi a mais citada como a que mais aborda o tema, além disso, os assuntos sobre meio ambiente são mais discutidos em datas comemorativas. Conclui-se que é necessário estabelecer possibilidades para a mudança das percepções dos adolescentes, ampliando esses conceitos por uma percepção ampla, independente e consciente do mundo no qual os alunos se inserem.

The theoretical foundation of this work consists, in particular, authors researching the possibilities that open up with the technologies of communication and information, among them José Manuel Moran. We opted for the quantitative and qualitative research, statistical data for which were the subject of interpretative care. This research presents an object of study a virtual platform known as Learn and their forms of use in the Faculty of Informatics of the State of Sao Paulo that includes three courses. Studies were conducted to quantify the accesses, which are realized by types of days and types of resources and thus it was possible to profile the use of Moodle for students and teachers in the key period indicated in the report. The research and analysis of data suggested that the use of virtual environment aid teaching was unsatisfactory, considering the various possibilities of resources it offers. All these features were classified into three major categories (management, interaction and collaboration), and only the first one meaningful participation. This proves that the computer and internet, at school, are still used only as an electronic substitute for the same tasks performed in the traditional model of education. Thus, teachers and students lose the chance to explore what computer, Internet and systems to better their teaching and pedagogical resources that lead to interaction and knowledge construction. / A presente pesquisa pretende investigar de que maneira a tecnologia computacional, da plataforma Moodle, denominada Aprender, tem sido utilizada, em uma instituição como ferramenta pedagógica, com o intuito de auxiliar os alunos na interação e em aprendizagens colaborativas. A fundamentação teórica deste trabalho constitui-se, especialmente, de autores que pesquisam sobre as possibilidades que se abrem com as tecnologias de comunicação e informação, entre eles José Manuel Moran. Optou-se pela pesquisa quanti-qualitativa, cujos dados estatísticos foram objeto de cuidados interpretativos. Esta pesquisa apresenta como objeto de estudo uma plataforma virtual conhecida como Aprender e suas formas de utilização em uma Faculdade de Informática do interior do Estado de São Paulo que contempla três cursos. Foram realizados estudos para quantificar os acessos, os quais são realizados por tipos de dias e por tipos de recursos e, dessa forma, foi possível traçar o perfil de utilização do Moodle por alunos e professores no período-chave indicado em relatório. A pesquisa e a análise dos dados permitiram concluir que a utilização desse ambiente virtual de auxílio pedagógico mostrou-se insatisfatória, considerando-se as diversas possibilidades de recursos por ele proporcionadas. Todos esses recursos foram classificados em três grandes categorias (gerenciamento, interação e colaboração), e apenas a primeira apresentou uma participação significativa. Isso comprova que o computador e a internet, na escola, ainda são utilizados apenas como um substituto eletrônico para as mesmas tarefas realizadas no tradicional modelo de ensino. Assim, professores e alunos perdem a chance de explorar o que computador, internet e sistemas têm de melhor, seus recursos didático-pedagógicos que levam a interação e construção do conhecimento.
