Stakeholder involvement in the management of public technical training institutions in KenyaOnduru, James Otieno 06 1900 (has links)
The phenomena of stakeholder identification and involvement in the affairs of public entities
has become of great importance in the recent years. Literature review reveals the extent of
knowledge and discloses gaps that exist in the management of technical training institutions
in Kenya. Therefore, key research questions aimed at achieving the objectives of this study
were formulated. For empirical responses, a sample comprising three institutions was chosen,
where respondents were selected purposively. Focus group and individual interviews were
conducted for qualitative data collection from purposively selected respondents. The data
analysis led to the conclusion that stakeholders are varied and their involvement in specific
issues minimal. This implies lack of clarity of knowledge of the stakeholders and variation
regarding the extent to which they need involvement and the effects. One recommendation is
to carry out an analysis to establish legitimate stakeholders and their specific potential

This thesis deals with social environment, especially its influence on out-of-school musical education of children. The thesis also examines factors, that influence out-of- school education of children. The thesis contains theoretical and practical part. In theoretical part the term of social environment and its possible influence on out-of- school musical education of children are defined and clarified. Different social groups, that children usually walks through in their lives, are described in individual chapters. Big attention is given to these social groups. In thesis problematics of influence of massmedia on children's musical development is delineate. The thesis also offer detailed list of institutions in which children have opportunity to musically educate themselves. The practical part consists of research of influence of social environment on out-of-school musical education of children and maps factors, that decide where children musically educate themselves, which musical instrument children play and also delineates problematics outlines of commuting to out-of-school music instititions. Hana Králová Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts THE AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN FOREIGN SERVICE BETWEEN 1868-1918 Abstract Emerging from the reforms of the second half of the 18th century, the body of loyal civil servants gradually transformed itself into an efficient bureaucratic machine, which fully ensured the operation of the multinational Habsburg Monarchy until its disintegration. For many, a position within the civil service went hand in hand with attaining a certain prestige and rank within society, although the financial situation of lower and even mid - ranking civil servants was problematic at best. The foreign service, especially its diplomatic and central administration branch, undoubtedly ranked among the most prestigious parts of the civil service. Candidates, apart from being required to have the necessary level of educational attainment, were subject to a rigorous selection process focusing especially on their language skills. En los últimos años el tema de la salud mental ha tomado mayor importancia por ser considerado un medio que permite a las personas desarrollarse de manera eficiente en diferentes ámbitos de su vida. Sin embargo, ésta se ve afectada por diferentes agentes, como la sociedad, escuela y/o familia, con mayor frecuencia en la adolescencia. Es por ello que, los pocos espacios que frecuenten les permitan desarrollarse y potenciar sus 3 dimensiones: socio afectiva, cognitiva y físico-creativa. Tal es el caso de los espacios de aprendizaje, en el cual los niños y adolescentes permanecen por largas horas. Dado esto, es importante que este espacio físico se encuentre acondicionado adecuadamente según ciertos lineamientos de diseño como la relación con el entorno, los volúmenes arquitectónicos, la iluminación y el color dentro del espacio los cuales permiten generar experiencias y sensaciones en los usuarios. Pese a las mejoras de estas instituciones, aún no han logrado un equilibrio entre la composición de espacios funcionales y a la vez estéticos que permitan un desarrollo individual y el desenvolvimiento social a través de diferentes actividades; sino por el contrario han seguido desarrollándose en base a sus principios tradicionalistas. En este sentido, el trabajo de investigación busca describir la disposición de las condiciones espaciales de un ambiente de aprendizaje y su relación con el bienestar emocional de los adolescentes mediante un estudio documental de diferentes fuentes bibliográficas. El resultado de esta investigación demuestra que existe una fuerte relación entre ambos factores. / In recent years, the subject of mental health has taken on greater importance because it is considered a means that allows people to develop efficiently in different areas of their lives. However, it is affected by different agents, such as society, school and / or family, most often in adolescence. That is why the few spaces that they frequent allow them to develop and enhance their 3 dimensions: socio-affective, cognitive and physical-creative. Such is the case of learning spaces, in which children and adolescents stay for long hours. Given this, it is important that this physical space is adequately conditioned according to certain design guidelines such as the relationship with the environment, architectural volumes, lighting and color within the space, which allow generating experiences and sensations in users. Despite the improvements of these institutions, they have not yet achieved a balance between the composition of functional and aesthetic spaces that allow individual development and social development through different activities; but on the contrary, they have continued to develop based on their traditionalist principles. In this sense, the research work seeks to describe the disposition of the spatial conditions of a learning environment and its relationship with the emotional well-being of adolescents. Presented master thesis deals with description of the gradual development and positions of the church schools in CR during the last 20 years. These schools are then complemented by the schools of theology at CR universities. This thesis is in a certain way a continuation of a bachelor thesis, successfully defended in 2007 at the School of Education of Charles University. The thesis describes in brief the history of education and pedagogy in general, church schools including. Then there are specified all the pertinent valid legal regulations for operation of church schools based on experience of the author from a managerial position of such a school for many years. The role of the general management and management of human resources on one side and the theological reflection of the church schools on the other side is discussed. In detail, the equipment of the facilities and their economy is analyzed as well as the goals and calling of these schools. In a wide spectrum of opportunities open to church schools in 21st century their potential can be used through new and fresh methods for evangelizing, mission and pastoral care.

The dissertation deals with the historical activities of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in České Budějovice between the years 1850 - 1956. The thesis is especially based on the study of archival materials. Each chapter comprehensively describes the history of the three branches where the religious Sisters performed their activities. The branches are listed in chronological order of when they were established in the city. A public hospital is mentioned first, followed by an institutional complex of orphanages and schools at the former Vienna gate, and the group is concluded with an asylum for elderly people in need established in 1888. Particular attention is paid to the circumstances concerning the establishment of each branch, its background, ordinary and extraordinary days that were mostly mentioned in local chronicles; and two local superiors who had a major impact on the development and character of the community are also mentioned in the dissertation. Besides the observation of the beginnings and subsequent unprecedented development of community activities within the city frame, the text also includes an independent final chapter focused on events associated with the definitive end after the year 1948. It shows particular attention to the use of school's uniforms in the pedagogical practices of the institution. The investigation extended from the first year of that institution, in 1931, until 1971, when, by law 5692/71, the "ginásio escolares" have extinguished, being replaced by first and second grade´s schools. Aims to understand the early years of the institution, particularly about the school´s uniform in the light of reflection António Nóvoa (1999) in the form of educational organization. / Esta dissertação versa sobre a história da primeira escola pública a oferecer ensino secundário na cidade de São Vicente: o ginásio estadual "Martim Afonso". Por meio de imagens é feita uma reconstrução histórica, que dedica especial atenção ao uso do uniforme escolar durante as práticas pedagógicas. A investigação estende-se de 1931, primeiro ano de vida do "Martim Afonso", até 1971, quando, por força de lei número 5692 de 1971, os ginásios escolares deixaram de existir, dando lugar às escolas de primeiro e de segundo graus. O objetivo desta pesquisa é compreender os primeiros anos de existência dessa instituição, particularmente no que diz respeito ao uniforme escolar, à luz da reflexão de António Nóvoa (1999), referente à forma de organização educacional.
