_____________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / Let f(x1, ..., xn) = a1xk 1 + ... + anxk n g(x1, ..., xn) = b1xk 1 + ... + bnxk n (1) be a pair of additive forms of degree pΤ (p − 1). We are interested in finding conditions which guarantee the existence of p-adic zeros to the pair (2). A well-known conjecture due to Emil Artin states that the condition n > 2k2 is sufficient. By means of techniques of Combinatorial Number Theory, we prove that n > 2 p (p/ P – 1) k2 − 2k is sufficient if k = 2.3Τ ou 4.5Τ, and in any case if Τ≥ (p – 1)/ 2.

Investigation of a swing check valve using CFD

Boqvist, Emil January 2014 (has links)
This master’s thesis is made to increase the understanding of the dynamic characteristics of a typical large swing check valve used in a system that transports pressurized water to a reactor tank.3D FSI-simulations are performed for a number of transients in order to study the dynamic characteristics their dependence of the deceleration rate. The purpose is to find information about the dynamics that could be used in a future improvement of a 1D-model.Steady state simulations are performed for angles in the whole spectrum. Seven transient FSI-simulations with different constantly decelerating flows from 630 kg/s2 (6.7 m/s2) to 40 320 kg/s2 (430 m/s2) have been performed. The pressure on the disc caused by the hydraulic torque is integrated and the corresponding torque contribution, together with the weight torque, is used in the second law of motion to calculate the movement of the disc throughout the transients.Steady state simulations yield the pressure drop over the valve, which could be compared with field measurements in order to validate the CFD-simulations. Comparison of the pressure distribution on the disc for the steady state and transient simulations shows the importance of taking the disc angular velocity into account when modelling in 1D. Correlations between the angle, angular velocity, torque and mass flow are obtained from the transient FSI-simulations. Torque coefficients according to (Li & Liou, Vol. 125) are also brought out from the simulated transients, but in order to create a model in line with this approach further simulations have to be performed. A prediction of the pressure rise that occurs when a swing check valve closes in backward flow according to the Joukowsky equation is brought out and gives an idea of the loadings that the system has to be able to handle.

A experiência religiosa e o sentido da vida no pensamento de Viktor Emil Frankl / The religious experience and the meaning of life according to the thought (philosophy) of Viktor Emil Frankl.

Nunes, Claudio Luis 05 February 2014 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Claudio Luis Nunes.pdf: 718275 bytes, checksum: 6e0d1e574a89204967599b28e8cf6a20 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-02-05 / Viktor Emil Frankl s thought (philosophy) concerning the meaning of life is relevant and pertinent, because there is still a universal clamor for this meaning, which is heard especially in urban areas where the masses are concentrated. It looks as though the larger the concentration of people, the greater the globalization of the world advances, the louder this cry for help is heard. This cry for a meaningful life is present both in the young as well as in older adults in all social classes. The world has lived through transformations and an existential vacuum is visible in the individual of today s society; the sensation of the lack of meaning, an interior emptiness. Beginning with this observation, this research has as its objective to demonstrate that it is possible to find meaning to life, having as a fundamental presupposition the discovery of the meaning of life by each person and the use of the cognitive power of the individual mind. It is only through this presupposition that it is possible to understand the reason why Frankl dedicated himself to the topic of the meaning of life emphasizing the role of faith, religiosity and logotherapy as the answer for the question about the meaning [of life] that has as its objective to widen the horizon of the human being, thus showing that, to all who can still be enthusiastic about something, there could still be much to do a significant number of tasks awaits them. Therefore, there is enough meaning.

Recepce díla a autorské osobnosti Emila Hakla / Reception of the work and the personality of Emil Hakl

Formánková, Helena January 2018 (has links)
This thesis deals with the question of reception of the work and the personality of Emil Hakl. It focuss on mapping of the acceptance of his books by literary criticism, it explores the way of writing about the author and his work. Considering that he is a contemporary author and his work is not yet reflected in a separate monograph, the material consists mainly of reviews in literary journals (Advojka, Český jazyk, Český jazyk a literatura, Host, Respekt, Tvar). The thesis is also devoted to the analysis of discourse. It asks questions on how is the critique of speech characterized, when it deals with the character of the contemporary writer.

La dimension temporelle chez Emil Cioran

Chelaru, Nadia-Irina 27 April 2012 (has links)
