A Educação de Jovens e Adultos é uma modalidade de ensino destinada a pessoas que não tiveram acesso à escola em idade regular, que não puderam iniciar ou concluir seus estudos. No trabalho proposto, desenvolvido entre os anos de 2011 e 2012, buscou-se realizar a pesquisa de natureza socioeconômica e cultural da população escolar, a fim de apreender as reais condições e possibilidades de acesso que os estudantes tiveram ao longo da sua trajetória de vida, bem como sua permanência na escola; conhecer as condições materiais e a prática pedagógica desenvolvida nesta modalidade de ensino; e por fim, construir reflexões acerca das possibilidades de atuação do assistente social na Educação de Jovens e Adultos / The goal of this dissertation is to contribute to greater understanding and approach to the reality of students of Education for Youth and Adults, the city of Franca-SP, from the perspective of Social Work. The Education for Youth and Adults is a teaching method aimed at people who do not have access to school in regular age, which could not start or complete their studies. In the proposed work, developed between the years 2011 and 2012, seeks to conduct research of socioeconomic and cultural nature of the school population, in order to grasp the actual conditions and possibilities of access that students have had throughout their life course as well as his stay at the school; know the conditions and pedagogical materials developed in this type of education, and finally, building reflections on the performance possibilities of the social worker in the Youth and Adult
