This research aims to raise a debate about youth experiences and practices in a periphery of the city of Campina Grande, Paraíba, bringing reflections about youth as a category to be understood by an ethnographic perspective. The main objective is to understand the experiences of the young residents of the neighborhood, especially when it comes to leisure activities. In this sense, a perspective was adopted which focuses on the analysis of youth through reflection categories such as circuit piece and path (MAGNANI, 2007) from the ethnography of the spaces that are occupied and (re) meanings by the young people. For this, it analyzed the interactions among young people, and also the theme of the periphery and their spaces, their interdependence networks with other groups and other places in the city, which brings us to the teachings of Da Matta (2003), who consider that many spaces and temporalities coexist simultaneously, and time (reality) and space fruits of a social construction. Thus, the city as a network that challenges the actors in their multiple dimensions, calls us to understand the transformations used in previously designed spaces. In this research, it is punctuated the relationship of young people and the establishment of sociability in Pedregal spaces. Moreover, they highlighted some issues such as social exclusion and the outskirts of conceptualization as important elements to situate this work.

Culturas juvenis numa escola pública de ensino médio: novos usos, novos cenários

Barcelos, Karla Vello Meyrelles 10 December 2008 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-27T16:33:46Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Karla Vello Meyrelles Barcelos.pdf: 3811847 bytes, checksum: 226b709b94b22a4d386687dbcc18b087 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-12-10 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / Juvenile culture is a concept that is part of a theoretical repertory of some anthropologists whose works have renewed the study about youth (Pampols, 1999; Martin-Barbero, 1999; Reguillo, 1999; Margullis & Urresti, 1999; Islas, 1999; Valenzuela, 1999). The research, which was accomplished during 2005 and 2007, deals with juvenile cultures and with a public high school located in Vila Pompeia, west area of the city of Sao Paulo. The aim of this research is to understand the uses that young students have been producing of a public state high school that was investigated in the context of relations and social interactions that reveal, inside the school, different juvenile manifestations. Investigating the uses (De Certeau, 1994) that young students produce of the public school where they study shows, in a certain way, an interest in what they have been able to create, fabricate from the way the school offers itself to their consumption e by the relations which are established with the actors that compose the scholar universe. As hypothesis, it is believed that the juvenile cultures that are spread give opportunity to new uses of the public high school. It means that juvenile manifestations inside the school cannot be explained in a brief way, just viewed as indiscipline, pathology or bad behavior expressions of the youth. From Woods (1987; 1991) and Geertz (1989) ethnographic perspectives, the symbolic and concrete games that compose the juvenile manifestations in their sociability rites were considered. The methodological procedures we used were field observations, records, conversations, interviews, questionnaires and dossiers accomplishment. Young students from the first, the second and the third year from different shifts, teachers, inspectors, counterwoman, cleaning agent, and director were interviewed. The results point out that juvenile cultures are important and constituent parts of social functions assumed by the school. It was possible to prove that the school organization, with principles, rules, and values which are historically built is able to express the interactions and relations established by the young students inside the school. We can say that it is from concrete conditions and symbolic operations which are built together that we have the juvenile cultures and the new uses of the investigated public school / Cultura Juvenil é um conceito que faz parte do repertório teórico de alguns antropólogos cujos trabalhos têm renovado o estudo sobre a juventude (Pampols, 1999; Martín-Barbero, 1999; Reguillo,1999; Margullis & Urresti, 1999; Islas,1999; Valenzuela, 1999).

A study of Borås municipality possibilities for development of sustainability reporting : Network, relations and actors

Rexhepi, Fiola, Rostam, Tanya January 2017 (has links)
There is not much research on how a new accounting system begins in an organization. Scientific research concerning sustainability and corporate sustainability reports has contributed to a curiosity of studying the early stages of a new possible sustainability accounting system. This has contributed to an increased interest in studying networks and relationships between actors by putting ourselves in the middle of the actions in an organization to possibly take part of the early stages. The purpose of this study is to study how corporate sustainability reports are constructed, with construction we mean how a new sustainability accounting system may be developed. We have conducted qualitative interviews with employees who work with social and environmental issues in Borås municipality. The study applies a case study design and a snowball selection. In total, we have interviewed eight employees in the municipality, four of whom are officials and four are politicians. During the empirics and analysis, we have applied an inductive approach with an ethnographic perspective. We have created our own categories with inspiration from Actor-network theory as method theory. We have analyzed the empirics based on the method theory and structured the empirics in order to clarify our observations under the categories involved actors, actors interests, conflicts and obstacles as well as translation. We have observed that the municipality is in the process of possibly developing a new sustainability accounting system. The municipality need to focus more on integrating the three dimensions of sustainability with each other and also how the municipality is to calculate social and environmental effects expressed in economic terms. The study shows that the financial accounting has a significant role in the municipality and that change is not advocated. To break old work patterns and ways of thinking the municipality should pay attention to its situation and identify problems. The study points towards the reality where we focus on the situation of the municipality. Altogether, we conclude that the municipality should create a network. When a network is created actors integrates with each other as they become actors in a network and gain value through interaction, thus reducing the complexity of the organization. The creation of a network may possibly contribute to a reconstruction of the municipality's sustainability accounting system. This paper is written in Swedish.
