Frame of Mind

Warden, Jeffrey Brooks 01 January 2006 (has links)
The creative process offers me an escape and tranquility worthy of sharing. When creating art, I reflect on the people, places, and things that move me. I convey my frame of mind through the brush to the canvas. The result is intense strokes of color that deliver clarity of emotion for others to experience. The intention of my work is to share a world that satisfies the eyes, mind, and soul. There is something about each piece that I hope will keep the viewer returning to absorb, contemplate, and enjoy.

Somatické charakteristiky krasobruslařek v České republice / Somatic characteristics of female figure skaters in the Czech Republic

Kroulíková, Soňa January 2013 (has links)
SOMATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF FEMALE FIGURE SKATERS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to find out specific somatic characteristics and somatotypes of female figure skaters in the Czech Republic. Subsequently relationships between measured somatic characteristics and normative of general population, and relationships between actual data and previous studies of female figure skaters are being examined. Methods: We use somatometric measurements to determine selected somatic characteristics (weight, height, eg.). We use the Heath-Carter method of somatotyping. Results: Female figure skaters are smaller than general population of the same age. In terms of physical height, one half of figure skaters is above population average while second half is under the average of population. Female figure skaters in this study are taller and heavier than figure skaters in previous study (Šelingerová, 1988) and they are more endomorphic. Prevailing somatotype is mesomorphic endomorph. Keywords: figure skating, somatic characteristics, somatotype, Heath-Carter method

Voices and violence of female figures in Koffi Kwahulé's theatre

Le Guen, Fanny 18 December 2012 (has links)
Koffi Kwahulé inherited from the Ivorian literary, artistic and theatrical culture. However, as he has been living in exile in France for thirty years, a transatlantictension pervades his writing and thus creates a contemporary black femininemythology. The voices and violence of powerful female figures that mirror archetypesin Ivorian Theatre, create a rhapsody dimension in this dramaturgy, which is aimed atdeconstructing the classical drama and the historical and cultural representations thatcorrupt international relations. Female figures in Belles de Jazz give the dramaturgyits tempo and make it develop into a jazz rhetorics deeply rooted into the author's ownmythology, similar to mid-twentieth century Afro American theatre.

Pessoa, figura, presença: o personagem cinematográfico entre o narrativo e o sensorial / Person, figure, presence: the film character between the narrative and the sensorial

Leal, João Vitor Resende 05 June 2019 (has links)
This research intends to investigate the tensions and articulations between the narrative and the sensorial in the cinema, having the film character as a guiding thread caught amongst the conventions of the narrative and the immediacy of the sensorial. We will argue that the film character is not only defined and conditioned by its narrative and representational implications (character-person), it is also an important catalyst of affects that stimulate our memory and imagination (characterfigure), and more substantially, an effect generated by concrete elements that often manifest themselves in terms of performativity and plasticity (character-presence). By reformulating the notion of character as \"character effect\" and exploring possible disjunctions between body, actor, and character (especially in films in which several actors play the same role, or on the contrary, the same actor plays several roles), we will advance the character as a privileged instrument for the analysis of the frictions and the complementarity of the narrative (signification/interpretation), the figural (sensation), and the material (perception) dimensions of the cinema.

Análise comparativa do desenho da figura humana em crianças diagnosticadas com transtorno de déficit de atenção e hiperatividade: um estudo exploratório / Comparative analysis of human figure design in children diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: an exploratory study

Ligeiro, Jeferson Luís 10 May 2019 (has links)
Participaram do estudo 20crianças, alunas do1º. Sugere-se a necessidade de ampliação da amostra a fim de que se possa obter resultados mais conclusivos a respeito da possibilidade de uso do DFH como instrumento auxiliar no diagnóstico do TDAH / Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a disorder that is very much referred to in the health area as well as in the area of education, which can result in numerous present and future problems for the subjects. The literature presents a variety of etiological factors for the development of the disorder, with some consensus that the problem is due to a genetic predisposition that can be updated in function of stimuli of the environmental context. ADHD includes symptoms of inattention, agitationand impulsivity that occur in frequency and intensity that are inappropriate for the subject\'s age group and are usually diagnosed through behavioral scales to be answered by family members and / or teachers, which may or may not be followed by(neuro) psychological tests, as well as observation of the child\'s behavior. The Human Figure Drawing test (HFD) has been one of the instruments most used by psychologists, both to analyze cognitive aspects and personality elements of the executor of the drawing. Thus, through a comparison of performance in HFDtest between children diagnosed and undiagnosed with the disorder, this study aimed to identify possible indicative traits of the presence of ADHD in the drawings of children with the disorder, aiming to obtain an additional resource that can help psychologists to execute a more reliable diagnosis for ADHD. The participants of the research were20 children, students from the 1st. Elementary School Cycle, divided into a Clinical Group, composed of 10 children diagnosed as having ADHD, and Control Group, composed of 10 children with age, sex, education and socioeconomic level, but who did not present the problem. After both groups were submitted to HFD, comparative analyzes of the level of cognitive maturity and emotional indicators, as well as general aspects of the participants\' drawings (size, tracing), were performed, in order to verify the existence or not of significant differences between groups. The results suggest a lower performance of the ADHD patients in terms of cognitive maturity, as well as greater presence of emotional indicators and poor manual coordination in the clinical group, although not reaching statistical significance. We suggest the need to expand the sample in order to obtain more conclusive results regarding the possibility of using HFD as an auxiliary tool in the diagnosis of ADHD
