Previous issue date: 2012-10-25 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The main objective of this dissertation is to present and analyze the evolution of formal job in the Jequitinhonha mesoregion (MG), during the period of 2000 to 2010 in order to comprehend any changes in its productive structure. The procedures used consisted in bibliographic research and by analyzing the data of the Annual Report of Social Information (RAIS). To comprehend and deepening this study it was needed to briefly present the theories of the regional economic development, and understand the behavior of the Brazilian job market and also the regional economic reality of the Minas Gerais state during the period of 2000 to 2010. During the period studied there was a quantitative increase in the formal job in the Jequitinhonha mesoregion, but considering a qualitative perspective, which analyzes the diversification of the productive activity of the region, it was noticed that the increasing of the formal job happened in a concentrated way in a few economic sectors of the region which focused in low incomes, and hence there was not changes in the regional prevailing productive structure which characterize its low development condition / O objetivo central desta dissertação é apresentar e analisar a evolução do emprego formal na mesorregião do Jequitinhonha (MG), no período de 2000 a 2010, com a intenção principal de compreender eventuais mudanças na sua estrutura produtiva.

Buen Trabajo PerúAguirre Barrientos, Pedro, Erkel Yrigoyen, Claudia Johanna, Rodriguez Bohorquez, Grecia Del Pilar, Zea Barahona, Ashley Leyla 14 July 2020 (has links)
Buen Trabajo Peru is a business idea based on the search for formal work, through a digital platform, which will perform the function of recruiting staff. Our target audience niche is the food and beverage sector; and, on the other hand, workers seeking formal job opportunities.
Currently, the food and beverage sector has a high rate of staff turnover, being a great weakness for the sector, however, for innovators, it becomes a great opportunity to satisfy. Likewise, in the national market there are a variety of companies dedicated to recruiting personnel, however, there is no company that is dedicated to serving only this niche.
Due to these points identified as the high rotation of the niche and the lack of attention to demand by some specialized company, the idea of forming Good Work Peru was born, in order to cover this need. In addition, the use of technology is added to this business idea, which will contribute to making the use of a digital platform viable and faster, which will ultimately support the project. / Trabajo de investigación

The Joint Use of Formal and Informal Job Search Methods in China: Institutional Constraints, Working Mechanisms, and AdvantagesShen, Jing 14 January 2014 (has links)
Using data drawn from in-depth interviews collected in three Chinese cities and the countrywide China General Social Survey, this dissertation examined how people found jobs during the historic period of China’s employment system change. This dissertation is written in the format of three publishable papers. The first paper revisited China’s employment system change, by focusing on individual reactions towards the changing employment policies. Perceiving the persistent political authority, individuals pursued higher education, accumulated political advantages, and mobilized network resources, to get state-assigned jobs. Individual job-seeking strategies, in turn, boosted the state’s hiring criteria, as well as facilitated the growth of the market principle. Consequently, state power and market strength have been co-developed in this process.
Following my analysis of institutional constraints, in the second paper, I addressed the question of how individual job seekers and job positions are matched together. I examined how contact use matches individual qualifications to the employer’s hiring expectations, from an innovative perspective of the certifiability of job requirements. I demonstrated that informal methods facilitate job-person matching success when used in combination with formal methods, rather than being used alone.
My third dissertation paper provides strong empirical evidence of the advantages of the joint use of formal and informal methods. I found that individuals who used formal and informal job search methods jointly tend to obtain more job information and thus apply for more positions. They are also more likely to exit job search successfully within a three-month time period. Using the Endogenous Switching Regression (ESR) model, I found that the joint channel itself is more likely to lead one to late-stage career success, as indicated by one’s recent income.
Above all, my dissertation systematically investigated the use of contacts in the labor market of post-socialist China, regarding its institutional constraints, working mechanisms, and advantages.

Previous issue date: 2017-02-10 / This work aims to test if the use of Google Trends as an exogenous variable improves the prediction of the monthly data for Brazilian Formal Job Creation (CAGED) compared to a model that uses only the lags themselves. For the selection of the model was used the algorithm Autometrics and for model comparison the Model Confidence Set. In addition, the model that uses Google Trends data will be compared with some market analyst’s forecasts. The results show that the model the uses the Google data as an exogenous variable is superior to the model that only uses the lag itself. However, this model was not able to overcome the market analysts.
