Alarcón Zelaya, Eddy, Canchanya Flores, Fredy Manuel, Corbalán Rodríguez, Raquel, Noriega Revoredo, Roxana Francesca 05 1900 (has links)
Today, various tourism companies seek to differentiate between them, develop all kinds of strategies that allow them to attract more customers and build loyalty. In this market, there are already several companies that chose to be digital due to their target audience and the time in which we live, but few provide a digital service, a service that suits the needs or wishes of the client. For this reason, in this work we chose to develop a digital platform that provides tourists with a 100% personalized service. Given the tourism boom in Peru and the passion of each one of us to travel, we chose to create Friends & Travel, a company that wants to connect travelers from all over the world with people who can help or advise them with the planning of their trip to Know their destination better and live a unique and different experience. The results of this work demonstrate how tourism is an important source of development in our country, so creating new business models in the sector must be successful. Traditional tourism agencies or international digital platform such as Booking or TripAdvisor should not be the only companies that provide the necessary information to each tourist, there must be other means with a personalized service that helps them to program their adventures and trips. / Trabajo de investigación

A Means Not An End : Designing Co-creation Experience For Library Service Innovations

Tang, Carol January 2013 (has links)
Could we have a better way to innovate future library service, so that more creative ideas could be embraced and more people can get involved? Many libraries around the world is in search of a new position and innovating new service in order to stay relevant to their users. What if more people who care enough can join forces and be part of it? In this project, my goal is to design a workshop model and toolkit for library activists to initiate a co-creative experience. I hope people who experienced the creation of workshop can be confident enough to put their creativity into actions. And ultimately more library lovers can impact the way library service is developed. Thanks to the great support from Umeå University Library, LIme — A toolkit for library activist to create effective workshop experience, is created in form of a physical toolkit in combination with a mobile digital platform

The impact of digital platforms on roles and responsibilities in value creation among stakeholders of an ecosystem

Bonollo, Nicolas, Poopuu, Preedik January 2019 (has links)
Digital transformation is an area of research that has received a lot of attention in recent years. When talking about it in the context of entrepreneurship, digitalization is changing business interactions as well as completing different tasks. Since the businesses are not working in isolation, but can be rather seen as part of complex ecosystems interacting with different stakeholders, there is an unexplored research area regarding digitalization of ecosystems. The purpose of this research is to extend the literature on value creation and delivery within complex multi-stakeholder ecosystems using digital platforms and the change in the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders. The empirical research is based on qualitative approach utilizing case-study to investigate how the roles and responsibilities of an ecosystem have changed via semi-structured interviews. The findings indicate that digitalization changes the ecosystem by optimizing the existing interactions between different stakeholders as well as enabling stakeholders to take new roles on the digital platforms. Roles were impacted in terms of power and leadership over the ecosystem, but to a larger extent there was a shift in how stakeholders carried out their responsibilities. Additionally, digital technologies change the responsibilities by automation as well as taking over certain roles in the form of machine learning algorithms.

Plan de Negocios: CO-DENT

Bretel Morales, Denisse, Holguín Vásquez, Luis Alonso, Ruiz Velit, Andrea Elizabeth 06 November 2019 (has links)
In recent years, Peruvian healthcare market has changed. Private investment has increased, however, in reference to Dentistry, this has only showed increased number of franchises, which doesn´t allow general dentists to make a living; thus, there is an increased number of general dentists looking for another way to establish a private practice, never the less, dental office hi maintenance and elevated prices has become a limitation for those who try to accomplish this; making them look for another kind of opportunity, such as, sharing or renting offices. On the other hand, those who actually install a dental office have idle capacity, due to the fact that there is a large amount of dentists in Lima; thus, there is the possibility to rent for hours the dental office in order to pay elevated costs, and even, generating attractive incomes. In this globalized world, where technology and collaborative economy are a big part or daily activities, it wouldn’t be strange (it would be expected), to develop and implement technological tools that allow dental office owners, who have idle capacity installed, to offer their space for rent and, to dentists who doesn’t have a dental office, an easy way to locate according to location, equipment or schedule availability. Each year, there appear new collaborative economy projects, such as UBER, Airbnb; which, when applied to Dentistry, can become as profitable as that business model. In a city, as big as Lima, it´s important to make efficient use of time and patients look for optimizing theirs. One way of doing this is to look for dental attention in an office close to their home or their workplace. Speaking about collaborative economy, the development of a web portal is raised, one in which dental offices owners with idle capacity can advertise their space; and for dentists who look for an office to work can access to one that meets the requirements for their needs. / Trabajo de investigación

An inquiry into the nature and causes of digital platforms

Saarikko, Ted January 2016 (has links)
While the shape and nature of platforms varies across different instances, they pursue common ambitions such as reduction of risk, complexity, or transaction costs. Although initially theorised in industrial contexts, subsequent theorising regarding platform development, platform ecosystems, and platform strategy has drawn upon studies of high-tech industries in general and IT-based platforms in particular. While the inherent malleability of digitised data and digital technology offers possibilities, they also make it difficult to pin down the locus of a low-variety platform core. As such, one of the fundamental properties of digital platforms is rather mundane: to provide stability. With that in mind, this thesis pursues the following research question: How can a digital platform maintain stability for its stakeholders in the face of constant technical change? This thesis utilises affordance theory as a means to operationalise a relational view of digital platform, where stability is assessed in relation to stakeholders rather than technical persistence. This dissertation is based on an interpretive case study, primarily using qualitative data in the form of interviews gathered as part of two separate projects that varied both in scope and orientation. The thesis offers two main contributions. First, the idea of platform stability as derived from low-variety components that are persistent over time is difficult to apply in relation to digital platforms. Rather, we need to approach stability as a composite property, based on the ability of the platform to satisfy technical-, informational-, and social expectations. Hence, stability should not be considered as a fixed or absolute property, but rather a moving target. Second, this thesis suggests that the existing notion of (technical) coring needs to be complemented with information coring and social coring when applied to digital platforms. The proposed concept of information coring expresses the ability to hide complexity and present bottom-line results to the user in a comprehensible manner. Social coring refers to the idea of aligning technical integration and social integration in a platform. A relational perspective applied to digital platforms offers a possible avenue for theorising digital platforms as information systems artefacts rather than the dichotomous relationship between platform-as-architecture and platform-as-marketplace found in extant literature.

Enabling Successful Collaboration on Digital Platforms in the Manufacturing Industry : A Study of Digital Twins

Andersson, Ebba, Eckerwall, Kajsa January 2019 (has links)
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to enhance the understanding of how to successfully collaborate on digital platforms in the manufacturing industry by developing a contingency framework. To fulfill this purpose, the following research questions were derived: RQ1: Which challenges arise when collaborating on digital platforms in the manufacturing industry? and RQ2: How can collaboration challenges on digital platforms in the manufacturing industry be managed? Method – The study was conducted as an explorative, inductive single case study of a digital platform. More specifically, the study examined the development process of a digital twin platform created by a large high-technological company and its collaborative actors. In total, 21 interviews were conducted at eight different companies. The respondents all had experience of digital twin platforms, where some were working with digital twins sporadically and others on a daily basis. The data were analyzed through a thematic analysis. Findings – The analysis reveals that actors on digital platforms can face five types of challenges that hinder a successful collaboration: disadvantages of dependency, uncertainty regarding data management, varying customer needs, insufficient work methods, and unsuitable payment models. The analysis also reveals four strategies that can be used to address the challenges: transparency strategy, incentive model strategy, servitization strategy, and control strategy. Moreover, these findings are summarized in a contingency framework that explains which types of challenges that can be addressed with which strategies based on the specific prerequisites of each collaboration. Theoretical and practical implications – The study extends the digital platform literature by providing empirical evidence for several collaboration challenges among the actors on a digital platform, which has previously bee not been studied. Additionally, the study provides evidence of how these challenges can be addressed. Our framework helps manufacturing companies to successfully adopt digital platforms by providing managers with the tools to handle the required collaboration. Limitations and further research – The study is limited by a single case study of a specific digital platform. Thus, to extend the findings, further research that examines other contexts are recommended. Moreover, the establishment of the studied platform is currently in an early phase which limits the study to hypothetical challenges and management methods. To validate the findings, further research that examines a fully developed and implemented platform is recommended.
