Este estudio evalúa actitudes lingüísticas de profesores de español como lengua extranjera en Suecia hacia formas de género neutral en diferentes contextos y formatos, centrándose en las innovaciones morfológicas -e, -x, -@ así como en el desdoblamiento. Igualmente, compara la actitud entre profesores de lengua materna española y sueca. Los resultados reflejan una preferencia generalizada por el genérico masculino arraigada en las normas lingüísticas tradicionales y convenciones sociales. Se observa una mayor aceptación hacia el desdoblamiento en contextos informales, indicando una apertura a prácticas lingüísticas inclusivas. Se observan diferencias en las actitudes entre profesores de lengua materna española y sueca. Los profesores con lengua materna sueca tienden a mostrar una mayor aceptación hacia las formas de lenguaje inclusivo, pero resistencia hacia el morfema -e en situaciones orales. La lengua materna, la cultura lingüística y las normas gramaticales influyen en la percepción del lenguaje inclusivo. Se concluye que las actitudes lingüísticas hacia formas de género neutro varían según el contexto y las experiencias individuales. Estas conclusiones resaltan la complejidad de las actitudes dentro del profesorado de español en Suecia, subrayando que las actitudes pueden diferir según el contexto de la comunicación, así como si el formato es oral o escrito. Los hallazgos se alinean con la idea de que las actitudes lingüísticas varían según factores culturales. Es importante recordar que estas conclusiones se basan en la percepción de los participantes y pueden no reflejar las de todos los hablantes de español o sueco. / This study evaluates the linguistic attitudes of teachers of Spanish as a foreign language in Sweden towards forms of gender neutrality, in various contexts and formats, focusing on the morphological innovations -e, -x, -@, and doublets. Additionally, it compares attitudes between teachers who have Spanish as a mother language and those whose mother language is Swedish. The results reflect a widespread preference for the masculine generic, rooted in traditional linguistic norms and social conventions. A higher acceptance of doublets in informal contexts is observed, indicating openness to inclusive language practices. Differences in attitudes are observed between teachers who have Spanish as a mother language and those whose mother language is Swedish. Teachers with Swedish as their mother language tend to show greater acceptance towards inclusive language forms but resistance towards the -e morpheme in oral situations. Mother language, linguistic culture, and grammatical norms influence the perceptions of inclusive language. It is concluded that linguistic attitudes towards gender-neutral forms vary depending on the context and on individual experiences. These conclusions emphasize the complexity of attitudes in the context of Spanish teaching in Sweden, highligting that attitudes may differ according to the communication context, whether formal or informal, as well as if the comunnication is oral or written. These findings align with the idea that linguistic attitudes vary based on cultural factors. It is important to note that these conclusions are based on the participant’s perceptions and may not reflect those of all Spanish or Swedish speakers. The study provides, as well, a solid foundation for future research, enphasizing the importance of considering factors such as mother language, communication context, and sociocultural dynamics in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. This allows to develop training programs with inclusive linguistic strategies and promotes necessary discussions.

Do Different Devices Perform Equally Well with Different Numbers of Scale Points and Response Formats? A test of measurement invariance and reliabilityMenold, Natalja, Toepoel, Vera 11 June 2024 (has links)
Research on mixed devices in web surveys is in its infancy. Using a randomized experiment, we investigated device effects (desktop PC, tablet and mobile phone) for six response formats and four different numbers of scale points. N=5,077 members of an online access panel participated in the experiment. An exact test of measurement invariance and Composite Reliability were investigated. The results provided full data comparability for devices and formats, with the exception of continuous Visual Analog Scale (VAS), but limited comparability for different numbers of scale points. There were device effects on reliability when looking at the interactions with formats and number of scale points. VAS, use of mobile phones and five point scales consistently gained lower reliability. We suggest technically less demanding implementations as well as a unified
design for mixed-device surveys.

A oferta de novos serviços para os usuários finais, como o denominado triple play, que consiste no tráfego simultâneo de voz, vídeo e dados utilizando a mesma infra-estrutura de comunicação, vem exigindo que as estruturas de rede das operadoras ofereçam largura de banda adequada e qualidade de serviço. Nesse contexto, as redes ópticas passivas (PON) vêm se destacando em virtude de oferecerem maior largura de banda a custos relativamente baixos. Nas redes ópticas passivas, trechos de fibras ópticas podem ser compartilhados entre diversos assinantes, exigindo, para isso, a utilização de técnicas de controle de acesso múltiplo. Destaque maior é dado à técnica de acesso múltiplo por divisão de códigos ópticos (OCDMA), por apresentar características tais como maior segurança e capacidade flexível sob demanda. O desempenho dessa tecnologia é basicamente limitado pela interferência de acesso múltiplo, ou interferência multiusuário (MAI). No presente trabalho, cenários OCDMA-PON utilizando códigos ópticos unidimensionais, baseados na codificação prima modificada (MPC), e bidimensionais, baseados na codificação óptica ortogonal de múltiplos comprimentos de onda (MWOOC), são descritos, e seus respectivos desempenhos investigados. Os desempenhos desses sistemas são verificados utilizando-se os seguintes esquemas de modulação: 1) On-off Keying (OOK), cujo formalismo para a codificação padded MPC (PMPC) e double padded MPC (DPMPC) foi aqui desenvolvido, 2) por posição de pulso (PPM), considerando os ruídos poissonianos de deteção, cujo formalismo foi também aqui desenvolvido, 3) por posição de pulso (PPM) considerando apenas a interferência de acesso múltiplo (MAI), 4) semelhante ao (3), porém, utilizando a técnica mitigadora de MAI via cancelamento paralelo de interferência (PIC), e 5) semelhante ao (4) porém utilizando modulação por chaveamento de frequência (FSK). Em seguida, a codificação bidimensional MWOOC, utilizando modulação OOK, é analisada com e sem a utilização de PIC. Além desses esquemas, são também incluídas, pela primeira vez nesses formalismos, técnicas de correção posterior de erro (FEC) baseadas no algoritmo Reed-Solomon (RS). A figura de mérito adotada nas simulações é baseada no cálculo da taxa de erro de bit (BER). Os resultados obtidos para os diversos casos investigados neste trabalho indicam que a combinação PIC/FEC deve ser considerada de modo a se obter níveis de BER compatíveis com a região livre de erros (BER < \'10 POT.-12\') para os cenários de redes de acesso atuais e futuros (visando atender a 32 ou 64 usuários simultâneos). / The advent of new services offered to end users, such as the so called triple play, which consists in the simultaneous traffic of voice, video, and data through the same communication infrastructure, has been pushing telecom operators towards providing adequate bandwidth as well as quality of service. This has brought the spotlight to passive optical networks (PONs) by virtue of their considerably higher bandwidth at relatively low cost. In PONs, certain fiber optic spans can be shared among different users as long as multiple access control techniques are used. One such technique is the optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) technique, which, in addition, presents improved data security and flexible capacity on demand. The performance of this technology is basically limited by multi access interference (MAI), which becomes more severe as the number of simultaneous users increases. In the present work, OCDMA-PON scenarios utilizing one- and two-dimensional optical codes separately such as modified prime codes (MPC) and multi-wavelength optical orthogonal codes (MWOOC), are described and thoroughly investigated. The performances of these systems are investigated based on the following modulation schemes: 1) On-off keying (OOK), where a new formalism for the double-padded MPC is proposed, 2) Pulse position modulation (PPM), and 3) Frequency shift keying (FSK) together with MAI mitigation technique based on parallel interference cancelation (PIC). Besides these schemes, it is also included for the first time in these formalisms forward error correction techniques (FEC) based on the Reed-Solomon (RS) algorithm. The figure of merit adopted in all simulations is the bit error rate (BER). Aiming to achieve the better efficiency in the use of bandwidth (spectral efficiency), as well as a compromise with the energy utilized in the process (power efficiency), the service operators are obliged to change the way in which the information is conveyed. The simplicity of the OOK modulation format has always been the main reason for using it in optical communications. Hence, once the coherent technologies had reached the maturity from a commercial point of view, they have become real alternatives to extend the capacity of networks. In this thesis, the performance of single and multirate FFH-OCDMA networks based on coherent modulation formats is addressed. The following modulation formats are assumed: binary and quadrature phase shift keying (BPSK and QPSK). For single rate networks, BPSK or QPSK are used as the modulation format for all users. For multirate networks, on the other hand, BPSK and QPSK modulation formats are employed for low and high rate transmission users, respectively. For both networks, new bit error rate (BER) formalisms regarding the main deleterious source in OCDMA are derived, namely multipleaccess interference (MAI). The mathematical formalism developed here accounts for any kind of users\' signal waveforms (which are accurately accounted for at the desired user\'s receiver). As a result, it can be successfully used to carry out performance analysis of any OCDMA network. Moreover, it is shown that both low and high rate users can surprisingly achieve similar BER levels. In addition, it is demonstrated that incoherent OOK-based networks are not good candidates for future single and multirate FFH-OCDMA implementations in this interference limited scenario. On the other hand, our results pave the way for BPSK- and QPSK -based networks, which are seen as potential candidates for next generation passive optical networks (NG-PON2), where higher data rates and a vast amount of users will be major network requirements. / No intuito de alcançar uma melhor eficiência no uso da largura de banda (eficiência espectral), bem como um compromisso com a energia utilizada no processo de transmissão de informações (eficiência em potência), as operadoras de serviços estão sendo obrigadas a alterar o modo em que a informações estão sendo transmitidas. Neste sentido, a simplicidade do formato de modulação OOK sempre foi a principal razão para a sua utilização em sistemas de comunicações ópticas. Assim, uma vez que a tecnologia coerente tem alcançado a maturidade do ponto de vista comercial, estas são reais alternativas para aumentar a capacidade das redes de comunicação ópticas. Nesta tese, são avaliados os desempenhos de redes FFH-OCDMA convencionais e de múltiplas taxas baseadas em formatos de modulação coerentes. Theoretical and experimental study of optical solutions for analog-to-digital conversion of high bit-rate signals / Étude théorique et expérimentale de techniques optiques pour la conversion analogique-numérique de signaux de communication à très haut débitNguyen, Trung-Hiên 19 November 2015 (has links)
Les formats de modulation bidimensionnels (i.e. basés sur l’amplitude et la phase de l’onde porteuse) ont gagné depuis peu le domaine des transmissions par fibre optique grâce aux progrès conjoints de l’électronique rapide et du traitement du signal, indispensables pour réaliser les récepteurs opto-électroniques utilisant la détection cohérente des signaux optiques. Pour pallier les limites actuelles en rapidité de commutation des circuits intégrés électroniques, une voie de recherche a été ouverte il y a quelques années, consistant à utiliser des technologies optiques pour faciliter la parallélisation du traitement du signal, notamment dans l’étape d’échantillonnage ultra-rapide du signal rendu possible par des horloges optiques très performantes. Le thème principal de cette thèse concerne l’étude théorique et expérimentale de la fonction de conversion analogique-numérique (ADC) de signaux optiques par un récepteur opto-électronique cohérent, associant les étapes d’échantillonnage optique linéaire, de conversion analogique-numérique et de traitement du signal. Un prototype, utilisant une solution originale pour la source d’échantillonnage, est modélisé, réalisé et caractérisé, permettant la reconstruction temporelle de signaux optiques modulés selon divers formats : NRZ, QPSK, 16-QAM. Les limitations optiques et électroniques du système sont analysées, notamment l’impact sur la reconstruction des signaux de divers paramètres : le taux d’extinction de la source optique, les paramètres de l’ADC (bande passante BW, temps d’intégration et nombre effectif de bits ENOB). Par ailleurs, de nouveaux algorithmes de traitement du signal sont proposés dans le cadre de la transmission optique cohérente à haut débit utilisant des formats de modulation bidimensionnels (amplitude et phase) : deux solutions sont proposées pour la compensation du déséquilibre de quadrature IQ dans les transmissions mono-porteuses: une méthode originale de l’estimation du maximum du rapport signal sur bruit ainsi qu’une nouvelle structure de compensation et d’égalisation conjointes; ces deux méthodes sont validées expérimentalement et numériquement avec un signal 16-QAM. Par ailleurs, une solution améliorée de récupération de porteuse (décalage de fréquence et estimation de la phase), basée sur une décomposition harmonique circulaire de la fonction de maximum de vraisemblance logarithmique, est validée numériquement pour la première fois dans le contexte des transmissions optiques (jusqu’à une modulation de 128-QAM). Enfin les outils développés dans ce travail ont finalement permis la démonstration d’une transmission sur 100 km d’un signal QPSK à 10 Gbaud fortement limité par un bruit de phase non linéaire et régénéré optiquement à l’aide d’un limiteur de puissance préservant la phase basé sur une nanocavité de cristal photonique. / Bi-dimensional modulation formats based on amplitude and phase signal modulation, are now commonly used in optical communications thanks to breakthroughs in the field of electronic and digital signal processing (DSP) required in coherent optical receivers. Photonic solutions could compensate for nowadays limitations of electrical circuits bandwidth by facilitating the signal processing parallelization. Photonic is particularly interesting for signal sampling thanks to available stable optical clocks. The heart of the present work concerns analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) as a key element in coherent detection. A prototype of linear optical sampling using an original solution for the optical sampling source, is built and validated with the successful equivalent time reconstruction of NRZ, QPSK and 16-QAM signals. Some optical and electrical limitations of the system are experimentally and numerically analyzed, notably the extinction ratio of the optical source or the ADC parameters (bandwidth, integration time, effective number of bits ENOB). Moreover, some new DSPs tools are developed for optical transmission using bi-dimensional modulation formats (amplitude and phase). Two solutions are proposed for IQ quadrature imbalance compensation in single carrier optical coherent transmission: an original method of maximum signal-to-noise ratio estimation (MSEM) and a new structure for joint compensation and equalization; these methods are experimentally and numerically validated with 16-QAM signals. Moreover, an improved solution for carrier recovery (frequency offset and phase estimation) based on a circular harmonic expansion of a maximum loglikelihood function is studied for the first time in the context of optical telecommunications. This solution which can operate with any kind of bi-dimensional modulation format signal is numerically validated up to 128-QAM. All the DSP tools developed in this work are finally used in a demonstration of a 10 Gbaud QPSK 100 km transmission experiment, featuring a strong non-linear phase noise limitation and regenerated using a phase preserving and power limiting function based on a photonic crystal nanocavity.

This work deals with the design of distributed repository aimed at storing digital forensic data. The theoretical part of the thesis describes digital forensics and what is its purpose. There are also explained Big data, suitable storages, their properties, advantages and disadvantages, in this part. The main part of the thesis deals with the design and implementation of distributed storage for digital forensic data. The design is also focused in suitable indexing of stored data, and supporting new types of digital forensic data. The performance of implemented system was evaluated for chosen type of digital forensic data PCAP files.

In this paper I pay attention to video editation issue. Firstly the basic terminology is explained, then the history of analog editation is described and further more even digital editation as well. At this spot, very interesting history of development of this field isn't forgotten and also the architecture of video editing software is described as we know them today. The most used digital forrmats are summarized as well. In next chapters the design of simple video editing application is explained. The applied technologies are briefly described and the decision of the choice is clarified. The result of whole work is a library of tools for video processing applications development demonstrated in a simple application.

(EN) This dissertation provides a broad understanding of fundamental terminology and an inside view of the digitization workflow and quality control processes. The main foci are on quality assurance during and outside the digitization processes and identification of the most suitable format for access, long term preservation, rendering and reformatting issues. An analysis of selected digitization centers is also included. An application called DIFFER (Determinator of Image File Format propERties) and subsequently The Image Data Validator - DIFFER has been developed using results from previously conducted research. The application utilizes new methods and technologies to help accelerate the whole processing and quality control. The goal was to develop a quality control application for a select group of relevant still image file formats capable of performing identification, characterization, validation and visual/mathematical comparison integrated into an operational digital preservation framework. This application comes with a well-structured graphic user interface, which helps the end user to understand the relationships between various file format properties, detect visual and non visual errors and simplify decision-making.
