Social Criticism, Inmanent critique and Trascendental Critique The question of Inmanent Critique in Critical Theory / Crítica Social, Crítica Inmanente y Crítica Trascendente: La cuestión de la Crítica Inmanente en la Teoría Crítica

Caviglia Marconi, Alessandro 10 April 2018 (has links)
The present work seeks to clarify the issue of immanent criticism and transcendent criticism in the so-called Critical Theory. To this end, the different forms of social criticism are used to present clearly what the Frankfurt School calls “immanent criticism of society”, following in the footsteps of Hegel and Kant. After that, it presents the observations that Rainer Forst, reinserting a Kantian inspiration, presents a distinction between immanent criticism / transcendent criticism.

A case analysis of energy savings performance contract projects and photovoltaic energy at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas

Barich, William J., Dessing, Brent L., Harley, Antonio B. 06 1900 (has links)
MBA Professional Report / The purpose of this MBA Project is to review existing policy of the Federal Energy Management Program under the purview of National Renewal Energy Laboratory (NREL) for Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs). This project will assess the ability for the Department of Defense to incorporate emerging technologies in alternative energy to supplement or replace existing power sources for DoD installations within the current Energy Savings Performance Contract policy. To do this the project will review previous and existing Energy Savings Performance Contracts. Further, this project will conduct a cost-benefit analysis of conventional power versus emerging photovoltaic energy for the Army’s Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. The project will also analyze energy demands based on a new force alignment at Fort Bliss in accordance with the recent Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) findings. The project will review current Energy Performance Contract Policy and recommend changes to allow for the use of emerging alternative energy technologies.

Reflexive Toleration : A Critical Inquiry into Rainer Forst’s Theory of Toleration

Langby, Martin January 2017 (has links)
This master’s thesis provides a critical inquiry into Rainer Forst’s theory of toleration, including a descriptive section and a normative critical stance of said theory. Being placed in the tradition of critical theory, also applied as the theoretical framework, and using a hermeneutics methodology when approaching the material, the aim is to provide a close reading of Forst’s texts. The research question of the thesis is What are the possibilities and limits of Forst’s theory of toleration when applied to a democratic political community? The descriptive section of Forst's theory of toleration includes sections comprising of what constitutes the domain of toleration, the components and foundation of toleration, and toleration in relation to virtue and politics. In essence, Forst proposes a principle of justification as the foundation of toleration, mainly derived from his political theory of justification, practiced in a reciprocal and universal manner of the participants in a system combined with a reflexive component. The critique includes components of toleration in relation to the need of tradition, ambivalence in relation to the claims of the intolerants, and how spontaneity is needed in contrast to the mechanistic view mainly proposed by Forst. Other sections of the critique include the relation of toleration and whom can participate in the domain of it, inter- and intra-group deviances regarding power and perspective, but also a discussion of toleration and religious minorities – mainly focused on bodily integrity. The critique includes the suggestion that one should approach the question of toleration from a discursive virtue ethics position, a stance that should be developed further during future research. The discussion at the end of the thesis includes a section of the future of toleration and a self-reflexive discussion of theory in relation to the thesis.

Holznutzung leistet Beitrag zur Armutsbekämpfung

Rosenthal, Michael, Bues, Claus-Thomas 27 September 2011 (has links) (PDF)
