Ullah, Farooq Kifayat January 2010 (has links)
This thesis is part of the on going work at BTH (Blekinge Technical University) to develop a remote lab for Sound and Vibration Experiments. The aim of this undertaking is to develop a Spectrum Analyzer that can simultaneously take inputs from 10 sensors and be able to measure the Power Spectral Density, Cross correlation, Frequency Response Functions (FRF) and coherence. The Interface and analysis algorithms are developed inLabview programming language. The thesis starts by introducing the overall aim of the project and its scope, the place of this particular thesis in the whole picture and the algorithms used for analysis are introduced. In the second part of the thesis the development of the software is explained and the main aim is to thoroughly document the software. This part of the thesis explains Labview programming concepts in detail to make it easier for other students who want to undertake theses to continue this work and who may not have experience of Labview programming. Two versions of the spectrum analyzer were developed. The third part explains theexperimental set up and results obtained and compares measurements to those obtained using other spectrum analyzers. An accurate Spectrum Analyzer Virtual Instrument has been developed and tested during this thesis project and it can be used as a component of the proposed Sound and vibration analysis laboratory and also for general Spectral Analysis tasks. / Good guide to learn Labview and sound and vibration analysis.. / fkul08@gmail.com Is my email and i can be contacted via messenger usually at farooq_kifayat@hotmail.com And i can also be contacted via skype using farooqkifayat as my name.

Barillon, Franck 29 March 2011 (has links)
In this thesis we studied the vibratory behaviour of a whole vehicle under engine excitation at low frequencies (0 – 50 Hz) and medium frequencies (200 – 800 Hz). The aim of the thesis was to provide numerical methodologies to take into account coupling effects between all the sub-systems constituting a whole car. In low frequencies, we used a global approach where each subsystem was characterized separately before coupling. First the car body was characterised both experimentally and numerically using a modal appropriation method that is commonly used in the aeronautic field. Numerical shapes of the modes were correlated to experimental shapes. In addition, the amplitude and frequency non linear behaviour of the engine mounts was measured on a test bench. A strong non linear behaviour was observed and stiffness – frequency – amplitude layers were constructed based on those data.Secondly, numerical methods were developed in order to calculate the coupled non linear response between the engine, the engine mounts and the car body. We used a harmonic balance method that allows calculating the non linear dynamics of complex mechanical systems. In order to apply this method to large industrial finite element models, a condensation method on non linear degrees of freedom was developed. This technique is well adapted to problems of linear structures linked together with localnon linear joints. This method was validated on the isolated engine linked to a bench by the engine mounts. Strong non linear phenomena on the rigid body modes of the engine were observed experimentally.A numerical model of the engine was developed and the HBM method allowed reproducing these non linear phenomena. Eventually, the non linear model of the whole vehicle was coupled and excited by different efforts. First we calculated the response of the assembly using the appropriation method. Then, the structure was excited by a real four – cylinder engine excitation. In medium frequencies, we presented an important study for the group Renault concerning the stiffness measurement of the engine mounts. A numerical methodology based on the FRF Based Substructuring(FBS) method was developed. This method was applied to uncouple an engine mount initially coupled to a test bench. The numerical feasibility of the method was proved and allowed to get the own vibratory behaviour of the engine mount despite coupling phenomena with the test bench.

Structural-acoustic vibrations in wooden assemblies: : Experimental modal analysis and finite element modelling / VIBRATIONER OCH STOMBURET LJUD I TRÄKONSTRUKTIONER : Experimentell modalanalys och finit elementmodellering

Bolmsvik, Åsa January 2013 (has links)
This doctoral thesis concerns flanking transmission in light weight, wooden multi-storey buildings within the low frequency, primarily 20-120 Hz. The overall aim is to investigate how the finite element method can contribute in the design phase to evaluate different junctions regarding flanking transmission. Two field measurements of accelerations in light weight wooden buildings have been evaluated. In these, two sources; a stepping machine, and an electrodynamic shaker, were used. The shaker was shown to give more detailed information. However, since a light weight structure in field exhibit energy losses to surrounding building parts, reliable damping estimates were difficult to obtain. In addition, two laboratory measurements were made. These were evaluated using experimental modal analysis, giving the eigenmodes and the damping of the structures. The damping for these particular structures varies significantly with frequency, especially when an elastomer is used in the floor-wall junction. The overall damping is also higher when elastomers are used in the floor-wall junction in comparison to a screwed junction. By analysing the eigenmodes, using the modal assurance criterion, of the same structure with two types of junctions it was concluded that the modes become significantly different. Thereby the overall behavior differs. Several finite element models representing both the field and laboratory test setups have been made. The junctions between the building blocks in the models have been modeled using tie or springs and dashpots. Visual observation and the modal assurance criterion show that there is more rotational stiffness in the test structures than in the models. The findings in this doctoral thesis add understanding to how modern joints in wooden constructions can be represented by FE modelling. They will contribute in developing FE models that can be used to see the acoustic effects prior to building an entire house. However, further research is still needed.

Dostál, Martin January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis is concerned with providing a construction proposal of a linear axis X for multifunctional machining center. Moreover, this work presents characterisations of machining centers, overview of manufacturers, list of main construction components used in the linear axis, their evaluation, assessment of various options for construction, which are then explained further. These detailed construction methods include calculations with the subsequent choice of feed system component. Ultimately, final evaluation of chosen option is provided as well. Another section of this thesis is also an economical assessment and 3D model alongside with mechanical drawing.
