Family Tracker

Mandadi Venkata, Uma Maheshwar Reddy January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Department of Computing and Information Sciences / Daniel A. Andresen / People always want know the whereabouts of their loved ones. They want to make sure everything is fine and that they are safe all the time. In this modern age, almost everyone owns a smart phone, which they tend to keep on them all the time. By using these smartphones, we can locate a person anywhere in this world. Android is open source software stack and has the highest smart phone user base. Hence, this application is developed in android. The Family Tracker is an android Application used for finding whereabouts of a person in the most efficient and simple manner. Here we will be having guardians and subjects (users), where users add other people as their guardians. When the user does not lift the phone, the details of his location are sent to the guardian in the form of an SMS. Here the address along with the location link will be sent, using which we can locate it in the map. Guardian can also get the location of user by sending out an SMS to his phone. A one click messaging service is also implemented in this application through which guardian can send message to user’s friends in one click for further inquiry. In order to make this application more helpful for the users, Geo-Fencing is implemented through which guardian can know whether the subject is in or around a particular place (location) of interest (Ex: a university).

Location-based marketing lead to the door of thebrick and mortar store : A study for Swedish clothing companies / Platsbaserad marknadsföring leder till dörren hos den fysiska butiken

Johansson, Sebastian, Johansson, Alfred January 2017 (has links)
The brick and mortar stores are decreasing their field of activity meanwhile online retail is increasing. Hence the purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine if the clothing industries’ brick a nd mortar stores could change their down going trend by using both location-based marketing and the digital footprints of a customer as part of their strategy.

Geofencing-teknik för synkronisering av en kontextmedveten ljudvandring

Zetterström, Oskar, Sadikovic, Amar January 2018 (has links)
The humankind has used many tools to navigate, from following stars to using theGlobal Positioning System (GPS). This study focuses on context-aware soundwalks, e.g.it could be a guided tour through a city where the voice in the audio describes touristattractions in the user’s surroundings. Complications can arise when playing onecontinuous sound clip through an entire soundwalk. For instance, if the user is walkingthe distance too fast or too slow, resulting in the user’s position not corresponding withthe content in the audio track. In this paper we introduce an application that serves as asolution to the problems that may arise when creating context-aware soundwalks. Theapplication was developed in Android studio and uses GPS coordinates and geofencingtechnology to determinate the user’s location. Each geofence was given the size of 50x40meters and together they form a soundwalk. The geofences were also assigned a specificaudio clip that started playing when the user entered the geofence. To evaluate ourapplication user tests were designed. The tests were conducted on a soundwalk locatedoutside of Malmö University. Based on the results of our user tests the participantsfound that the sound was consistent with the place they were located.

Application of Geofence for Safe Interaction with Emergency Vehicles

Kunclova, Tereza January 2022 (has links)
The aim of the thesis was to investigate if geofence instructions communicated via an in-vehicle human-machine interface (HMI) can have a positive impact on driver behavior when interacting with emergency vehicles. A total of n = 64 study participants were tested in a driving simulator on two different use cases without or with applied geofence instructions. The use cases were situated on an off-ramp and at an intersection. The results of the experiment demonstrated a statistically significant effect of the use of geofencing on the correct and timely reactions of drivers prior to the interaction with emergency vehicles. Furthermore, the use of geofencing indicated a potential to decrease collision risks and driving time of emergency vehicles. Although the HMI design needs to be improved for real-world geofence application, the study participants were positive about receiving the geofence instructions when interacting with emergency vehicles in their own vehicles in the future. /
Examensarbetet är utfört vid Institutionen för teknik och naturvetenskap (ITN) vid Tekniska fakulteten, Linköpings universitet

Vzájemná notifikace inteligentního telefonu a serveru / Mutual Notification of Smart Phone and Server

Douděra, Martin January 2015 (has links)
This thesis deals with notification between smart phone and application server which controls intelligent home. It is focused on Android mobile platform and it is implemented for that platform. Notification service Google Cloud Messaging is used because it is not possible to directly address mobile phones from server. Based on actual position and user defined area the server is informed about moving to or from the area. The server can perform defined event automatically with these information. Implementation was tested in real system. Alpha and beta versions were regularly published.

Webbaserad visning av positioner på karta / Web based presentation of positions on a map

Engström, Martin January 2010 (has links)
Today there are a big need for a system that delivers overview of all available units for different municipalities and shipping- and security companies due to the increasing requirements for efficiency. The purpose with this graduation thesis is to find out which systems that is suitable to use while developing cost-effective software for positioning and to produce a prototype for such solution. This assignment has been done at the request of PocketMobile Communications AB. PocketMobile is a company that are specialized on delivering modern mobile software solutions and systems to companies with their own vehicle fleet or mobile workers. This master thesis can be split into two separate parts, the theoretic- and the practical part. The theoretic part includes producing a number of functional requirements in cooperation with PocketMobile and comparing the available systems against the function requirements. The practical part deal with the development of a prototype that demonstrates the software recommended. The development tools that best matched the functionality requirements when the selection was made in May 2007 were Map24 and OpenLayers. The system that was selected to use while developing the prototype was Map24, because this product matches all of the requirements and it is also suited for professional usage regarding support, scalability and reliability. Map24 also have some advanced functions like ability to route plan for example. The prototype that has been developed is web based and the graphic design is similar to Google Maps.
