Sendo assim, também foi proposta uma sequência de atividades abordando as distâncias: euclidiana e do táxi, com a finalidade de estimular a aprendizagem do aluno e permitir que ele faça conexões com o seu cotidiano / This current work was developed with the aim of presenting a new concept of distance, the distance of the geometry of Taxi. The Geometry of Taxi is a non-Euclidean intuitive Geometry. The distance of this Geometry was approached as a motivator in teaching various topics in mathematics, emphasizing its great influence in day-by-day lives, especially in their movement through the streets and in order to compare it with the distance of Euclidean Geometry, as regards the concepts and results related to it. So it is also proposed a sequence of activities addressing the distances: euclidean and taxi, in order to stimulate student learning and allow him to make connections with their daily lives

Num primeiro momento temos como alvo observações sobre cônicas com dicas de como dirigir-se ao assunto usando as ferramentas que o GeoGebra traz para facilitar o entendimento dos significados dos parâmetros e coeficientes dessas equações quadráticas. Thesis (MScEng)--University of Stellenbosch, 2001. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: This thesis describes an algorithm to extract primitive geometric entities (flat planes, spheres or cylinders, as determined by the user's inputs) from unstructured, unsegmented point clouds. The algorithm extracts whole entities or only parts thereof. The entity boundaries are computed automatically. Minimal user interaction is required to extract these entities. The algorithm is accurate and robust. The algorithm is intended for use in the reverse engineering environment. Point clouds created in this environment typically have normal error distributions. Comprehensive testing and results are shown as well as the algorithm's usefulness in the reverse engineering environment. / AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Hierdie tesis beskryf 'n algoritme wat primitiewe geometriese entiteite (plat vlakke, sfere of silinders na gelang van die gebruiker se inset) pas op ongestruktureerde, ongesegmenteerde puntewolke. Die algoritme pas geslote geometriese entiteite of slegs dele daarvan. Die grense van hierdie entiteite word automaties bereken. Minimale gebruikersinteraksie word benodig om die geometriese entiteite te pas. Die algoritme is akkuraat en robuust. Die algoritme is ontwikkel vir gebruik in die truwaartse ingenieurswese omgewing. Puntewolke opgemeet in hierdie omgewing het tipies meetfoute met 'n normaal verdeling. Omvattende toetsing en resultate word getoon en daarmee ook die nut wat die algoritme vir die gebruiksomgewing inhou.

Com esse trabalho pretendemos apresentá-las de outra forma. Começamos com a construção da curva com compasso e régua não graduada a partir de uma de suas propriedades, em seguida a de nimos formalmente e nalmente encontramos sua equação e características algébricas. De niremos alguns conceitos prévios para o estudo das cônicas. Em seguida estudaremos cada uma das cônicas elipse, hipérbole e parábola respectivamente, a partir de sua construção. Finalmente apresentaremos uma proposta de aulas que esperamos possam ser utilizadas por professores de Ensino Médio / On high school courses the study of Conics starts with the de nition which leads to an equation and nally the picture of the conic is presented. In this work we shall introduce the Conics in a di erent approach. We will start with the construction using only ruler and compass based on some of its properties and then we will de ne Conics. Finally we will obtain its equation and its algebraic characteristics. We will start with some basic concepts which will guide us to the study of Conics: ellipse, hyperbole and parabola. Finally we will present a proposal of classes that we hope can be used by high school teachers
