1 ABSTRACT The Master's work deals with the adaptaion proces of elders, taking social work services with accommodation. The theoreticaly introduces the topic of social services, demografy and actual documents. Following investigation shows that the residential services are not prefered by seniors; it's using is connected with negative feelings, at least at the beginning. The key role plays a family an social relationships that can widely help to bear the situation. In particular, we recomend the chase of conception of social services, introduce unified systém of data processing and support of social service.

This diploma thesis is theoretical and is dedicated to old age and ageing. The aim of this diploma thesis is to summarize existing knowledge of old age and to view this final stage of human life from different perspectives and in various context. It is based on periodization of human life. It deals with the process of ageing and its progress, it lists definitions and theories on ageing and also discusses possible premises of longevity. It attempts to define old age and lists myths and prejudices associated with old age. It describes old age from different perspectives of multiple science fields, such as philosophy, biology, medicine, psychiatry, psychology, demography, sociology and social work. It depicts science fields concerned with old age and points out selected aspects of life that can influence elderly person, such as financial situation, housing situation, education, leisure activies, interpersonal relations. It also mentions possible crisis situations during old age, violence against elderly people and system of care of elderly people in the Czech republic. It explains the importance of adaptation during old age and outlines possible image of end of life. At the end of the thesis a set of recommendations for happy old age is included.

Thesis "Ethical Aspects of Senior Care" deals with the recent issue of an aging population from the point of view of psychological, health-social and value-existential changes of man. It emphasizes the importance of adhering to ethical principles in senior care and complements practical social work by a specific analysis of the most important aspects of aging. Thesis is divided into five elementary parts. The first part of the thesis describes everything related to old age, the second part deals with the care of seniors from the historical point of view to the present. The third part of the thesis deals with the needs and the related value orientation of seniors. The fourth part tries to find and explain some ethical aspects that accompany the man in senium (dignity, autonomy, ageism). The fifth and final section offers some options for solving ethical problems that can be helpful in mastering this difficult part of life.

The thesis "Basic Therapy in the Direct Care of Gerontological Client" was focused on the description of basic therapies in the direct care of gerontological client with the aim to describe, analyze, and suggest the most optimal approaches in social care that can be realized within basic types of therapy. The text of the work was divided into four chapters which present expert opinions of various authors. The theoretical part consists of three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the description of the preferred therapy, the second chapter analyzes the social - health aspects of the old age, and the third chapter gives the insight into the representation of the basic legislation in the care of the seniors. Principal fourth chapter interprets data obtained by qualitative survey that was realized with the help of the cooperation of several methodological procedures, available interviews, the observation in the particular institutional facility implementing a mixed group of six elderly people, who in the course of approximately one year were involved to assemble the case studies and take part in different types of therapies and activities. The most characteristic feature of the demographic development in the Czech Republic and other developed countries is population ageing. The aim of the thesis "The process and rate of disability among seniors" was to determine the extent to which disability interferes with the lives of the seniors and to map the development, progress and conditions of the pension system. After an introductory overview of basic concepts, a part of the thesis deals with a theoretical analysis of the European framework of social security of seniors and another part is concerned with the reform of disability pensions in the Czech Republic. The focus is also on the forms of care for disabled pensioners. The empirical part analyzes the areas related to the development of population structure, administrative agenda, overview of pensions according to the WHO diagnosis groups, total overview of disability pensions, the development of the structure of pensions, financing of pension administration, and the average age of retired people. The economic side is also included, where pensions are compared with average salary and also the economic activity of seniors. Der physiologische Stratum corneum (SC) pH-Wert ist von zentraler Bedeutung für die epidermale Permeabilitätsbarriere (EPB) und die Hautflora. Physiologisch liegt der SC-pH bei ≤ 5, wohingegen er im Alter bis auf 6 ansteigt. Als Folge sind Regeneration und Integrität der EPB signifikant gestört. Zudem verändert sich die Hautflora im Alter quantitativ und qualitativ. Ob Hautpflegeprodukte mit einem pH-Wert von 4,0 Klinik, Hautphysiologie und Mikrobiologie der Altershaut beeinflussen, war Gegenstand dieser Arbeit. Bereits durch einmalige Applikation einer O/W-Emulsion (pH 4,0) normalisierte sich der erhöhte Altershaut-pH über 7 Stunden. Um Langzeiteffekte durch Externa mit pH 4,0 auf die EPB und die Hautflora zu untersuchen, wurde eine randomisierte, kontrollierte und doppelblinde Studie durchgeführt. In einem Seniorenheim verwendeten zwei Gruppen von Hochbetagten (≥ 80 Jahre) eine Hautpflegeserie (Lotion, Creme, Waschsyndet) mit jeweils unterschiedlichem pH Wert (Gruppe A: pH 4,0; Gruppe B: pH 6,0). Nach 7-wöchiger Anwendung reduzierte sich die Hauttrockenheit in beiden Gruppen. Im Vergleich zum Basiswert verbesserte sich die epidermale Barriereintegrität in Gruppe A signifikant (p=0,007), blieb jedoch in Gruppe B nahezu unverändert. In Gruppe B nahm die epidermale Barrierekohäsion ab (p=0,025), wohingegen die Kohäsion der epidermalen Barriere in Gruppe A unverändert blieb (p=0,814). Verglichen mit dem Basiswert kam es in Gruppe A (p=0,004) im Gegensatz zu Gruppe B (p=0,327) zu einer signifikanten Verkürzung der epidermalen Barriereregenerationszeit nach experimenteller Schädigung. Die Bestimmung der Hautflora zeigte in beiden Gruppen eine signifikante Zunahme (p=0,016, p=0,017) der Gesamtkeimzahl (KbE/qcm Haut). Außerdem wurde nach der Anwendung in Gruppe A (100%) bei mehr Probanden eine residente Mischflora konstatiert als in Gruppe B (88%). Die langfristige Anwendung von Externa mit einem pH von 4,0 verbesserte die Funktion der EPB signifikant im Vergleich zu Produkten mit pH 6,0. Darüber hinaus stabilisierte sich die residente Hautflora und verminderte sich die Hauttrockenheit in beiden Gruppen. Zusammenfassend ist festzuhalten, dass Hautpflegeprodukte mit einem pH von 4,0 die Funktion der EPB verbessern und sich positiv auf die Hautflora bei Hochbetagten auswirken.
