Global studentrekrytering via sociala medier : En jämförande studie av KTH och Chalmers kommunikation på Facebook / Global student recruitment through social media : How KTH and Chalmers communicate through their Facebook

Granberg, Kajsa, Gustafsson, Victor January 2016 (has links)
Prospective students are using social media to find information about higher education. It is important for universities to use an effective communication to affect the outcome of how many and what kind of students that apply for the specific school. With an analyzing tool that is based on student’s rational and emotional aspects when they apply for a university, we found what messages that KTH and Chalmers communicate through their Facebook pages. We have also looked at where they are similar and different in their communication. We have used Angulo’s Personality Theory, Costumer Relationship Management and Searching behavior in internet to find a result. The result from a total of 16 analysis units shows that KTH is sending out messages about having fun, social security, career prospects and that it is beautiful in Sweden and at KTH. This is communicated through stories from students. Chalmers publications are shorter and more focused on quality and personal goals then any emotional factors to persuade students.

台灣與中國大陸的貿易互賴關係-全球傳播理論架構分析(1979-2005) / Trade dependence between Taiwan and Mainland China from the global communication theoretical framework (1979-2005)

羅娜, Ilona Aleksejeva Unknown Date (has links)
Introduction Global communication environment is shaped by technological development in the telecommunication sector and expansion of a multinational (and increasingly global) network of private corporations. Increased trade and economic integration promote civil and political freedom directly by opening society to new technology, communications and democracy. It appears that global communication links are widespread and growing among economic and scientific elites. This study tries to explore how communication technologies development helps to lower transaction cost, enhance more trade across the Taiwan Strait and furthermore generate impact on political arena. As a Taiwan’s economic policy toward China, as a China’s economic policy toward Taiwan influenced by the corporate interests of the business groups and global communication networks promotes economic interests. Both, China and Taiwan have become major economic players in the international community. However, Taipei and Beijing have little formal direct dialogue, but they communicate using a public diplomacy , Internet (B2B e-commerce) and mass media. Telecommunication technologies provide a possibility for business elites in Taiwan and mainland China to communicate and create a great amount of bilateral trade between the two sides. Trade between mainland China and Taiwan has increased significantly over the last decade, because both Taiwanese and Chinese share the same language, customs and culture – and this factors save transaction costs.

Rozvoj Nollywoodu na pozadí globalizačních procesů v mediálním světě / The growth of Nollywood against the backdrop of globalization processes in the media world

Černá, Jana January 2015 (has links)
The Nigerian entertainment industry called Nollywood has for several years been one of the top audiovisual producers worldwide in regards to the volume of media produced. However, its market is to a large extent isolated from the dominant media flows, which has inspired interest for a detailed study of its role in the global cultural scene. The thesis is a theoretical treatise about the history and the present situation of Nollywood, which the author discusses in the context of the two seemingly oppositional paradigms of the globalization discourse: cultural imperialism and cultural globalization. To gather the most up-to-date and the most complex information, the thesis uses theoretical methods, such as the analysis, synthesis and comparison of the articles found in science journals and literature. The text is comprised of three main parts. After a brief introduction into the current situation in Nigeria and the historical development of its audiovisual media, the second chapter discusses the birth of Nollywood for the first time in the Czech academia, as well as its current production and distribution principles. In this part of the thesis, the focus is given to the description of the extent of Nollywood's influence in the world, including the Czech Republic, talking both about the audience size...

Processing reporting function views in a data warehouse environment

Lehner, Wolfgang, Hummer, W., Schlesinger, L. 02 June 2022 (has links)
Reporting functions reflect a novel technique to formulate sequence-oriented queries in SQL. They extend the classical way of grouping and applying aggregation functions by additionally providing a column-based ordering, partitioning, and windowing mechanism. The application area of reporting functions ranges from simple ranking queries (TOP(n)-analyses) over cumulative (Year-To-Date-analyses) to sliding window queries. We discuss the problem of deriving reporting function queries from materialized reporting function views, which is one of the most important issues in efficiently processing queries in a data warehouse environment. Two different derivation algorithms, including their relational mappings are introduced and compared in a test scenario.
